Brought the wife out on a date (nope not counting that trip to the physio and the polyclinic visit) for the first time since discharge! Guess some Vitamin D is also good for the bone #sundayfunday (at Whisk & Paddle)

Guess it was a good week post-(wife's)-discharge. Never thought I'll ever get to drink wine at the workplace hehe. Also, congrats again to the pre regs for completing their training! And got a good sat night out with the bros post-stocktake. Before spending the whole Sunday with the recuperating wife (: #okyweekinreview

So the wife was discharged last night! A little ahead of schedule but she was keen for home and we managed to pack in the necessary lessons with the physio and doctors told us what to look out for on our own. A little sad that she'll be back at my in-laws place but she'll have the domestic helper around to help. Thank you once again to everyone for your encouragement and well wishes. The real #MJroadtorecovery begins now!

On a happier note, the wife and I are grateful to everyone, from the kind hearted souls who were helping out at the scene, calling the ambulance, calling me, rendering first aid, coming forward to be witnesses, or just providing reassurance, to all the friends and family who have been providing emotional support (and the lovely gifts). It's now been 3 days since it happened - my wife got knocked down by a motorcyclist on 15 March at 924pm. Something that felt like it only happens in a TV drama or something. Rushed down to the scene and, seeing your loved one with blood all over is something you'll never forget. Can't forget that sense of loneliness as I waited outside the treatment/resuscitation room not knowing what was happening. Thankfully, all the initial suspicions of more serious injuries like femur, pelvic fractures turned out to be mostly superficial, and there was nothing life-threatening, but the shin was in a mess - fractured tibia and fibula, with the tibia broken into 3 main pieces. Had to operate to insert a rod to align the bone pieces. Thankfully, once again, op was successful and the worst seems to be over. Anyway. If you are crossing the road, cross safely. If you drive, drive safely. And if you ride... well actually don't ride if you can. And. Please cherish life and your loved ones (:
