Howl's Moving Castle!

And our first adult male/romantic lead!! 'Howl's Moving Castle' is one of those rare adaptations where I love the Ghibli movie & the book by Diana Wynne Jones?. They are fairly different but I really like both... a Lot.

So our story is set in a fantasy Europe country called 'Ingery' .... well... never mind we'll get there/I don't want to go into too many spoilers. The Ghibli movie definitely goes for the late Victorian aesthetic which works very well and I love it. But those of you with eagle eyes have already become confused because Howl's outfit is very out-of-time. .... Basically while I was researching men's fashion for this redesign... I found these fantastic "dandy" coats from the 1820s and couldn't resist. It makes sense to me because Howl is an eccentric & vain gentleman.... and if you've read the books you probably understand even better why he makes sense both 'out-of-time' and sporting the Welsh pattern I designed for Elionwy ;) .

I've wasted a lot of time in my life. I've thought too much about what people will say or what they're gonna think. Dumplin’ by andimjulie comes out this week (9/15). And if you’re in the Dallas area, the launch party where you can get this print is tomorrow. So I thought I’d post again with some detail shots. Some other characters from the book are included, along with Willowdean. Loved them all.
