‘’Gwydion and Lleu”

Gwydion, in the Welsh Mabinogion, a son of Dôn, a master of magic and poetry and a somewhat dubious character. He assisted in raping a virgin servant of his uncle, King Math; for his punishment he was made to live as a stag, a sow, and a wolf with the rapist as his counterpart—the two producing children together. Later, however, he was the cunning protector of his sister Aranrhod’s unwanted child Lleu Llaw Gyffes, probably the Welsh version of the pan-Celtic deity Lugus. Aranrhod gave birth to Lleu during a test of her virginity and Gwydion had to trick her into giving him a name and weapons, apparently the duties of a mother.

Gwydion raised Lleu Llaw Gyffes from material his virgin brother dropped as he fled Gwydion’s palace. Hiding the material in a chest, he found Lleu there when he next opened the chest. The two became inseparable, eventually lovers. Here Gwydion protects Lleu again, from what we cannot say, but Lleu knows his place at Gwydion’s heart.

i made this for daggerjaw as a guide to make torsos not so scary to draw!!

this isnt an end-all be-all for torsos obviously since there is a fuckton of body types to choose from, nor does it compare to life drawing, but its more about looking for simple shapes and patterns to help break it down and show ya that its not as super complicated as its made out to be. some lines will intersect with other lines, and its just all lines, squares, triangles, and quarters and half ovals

it helps having a picture of the body type you want to draw as a guide so you can start marking like HEY the boobs end here, the stomach rolls start and end here and they happen to align with the crease for the elbow, stuff like that

you could even exaggerate these proportions to make something more stylized too

so yea maybe itll be help to others too!! hope it does some good
