2018 Highlights of Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center

Allison Clago also supports community arts programs such as Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center. Highlights of the upcoming dance season include Company Wayne McGregor’s new work Autobiography, which presents a choreographed cycle of 23 portraits modeled on the director’s own genome sequencing. Each performance’s sections, which include an electronic score, are selected and randomly ordered by a computer algorithm. Another anticipated performance is Diavolo’s Architecture in Motion, which combines gymnastics and acrobatics with modern dance. Featuring human interactions within intricate architectural structures, the program includes landmark pieces such as Voyage and Trajectoire. A culminating performance of 2018 is choreographer George Balanchine's The Nutcracker, which combines Tchaikovsky’s classical score with costumes and sets that are the work of a pair of Cuban-American artists. Featuring a full orchestra, the performance encompasses a cast of more than 100 artists.

Easy Things to Remember for Every Class

Body Position–stomach tight, back straight, shoulders down, butt tucked.

Port de Bras–breathy and flowing.

Knees–do not think to straighten your knees, what you really want to do is pull up your knees using the muscles in your thighs.

Feet–always pointed and turned out.

Hips–keep hips square to the front, do not lift either hip unless directed to do so.

Watch Ballet–if you see what good technique looks like and you can easily emulate this technique.

Virginia Robinson Gardens' Educational Program for Children

Drawing upon extensive experience with asset allocation, portfolio planning, and investment analysis review, Allison Clago serves as managing director of investments at Wedbush Securities in Los Angeles, California. Also a noted philanthropist, Allison Clago is a member of the Virginia Robinson Botanical Society, which supports the Beverly Hills-based Virginia Robinson Gardens. Built in 1911 on the former residence of Harry and Virginia Robinson, the Robinson Gardens is a luxury estate listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In addition to being open to the public by appointment, the gardens host an interactive, science-based children's program for students in Grade 2 to 5. At the gardens, students can explore the sights and smells of the two-acre King Palm Forest and the Italian Riviera while gathering fresh produce from its vegetable garden and discovering a variety of rare plants native to other parts of the world. Field trips to the Virginia Robinson Gardens are approved by the Los Angeles Unified School District, and the interactive program complements science education guidelines set by California State. Beyond simply exploring one of six botanical gardens at the estate, students are tasked with identifying, smelling, and tasting different plants as well as examining them under a microscope and learning how to properly cultivate and nurture them. Students also receive a souvenir gift bag with a seedling planted earlier in the tour.

Major Contribution for Providence Tarzana Medical Center Expansion

A managing director of investments at Wedbush Securities, Inc., Allison Clago offers her clients risk-averse strategies to preserve and grow family wealth. With lifelong roots in the Tarzana community, Allison Clago has found ways of giving back through her philanthropic support for organizations such as the Providence Tarzana Medical Center Foundation. As reported in the San Fernando Valley Business Journal in January 2018, the foundation recently received a donation of $4 million from Ms. Clago, who serves on the organization’s board of governors. A signing ceremony was held at the office of the foundation. During the ceremony, it was noted to the guests that the donation is the largest single contribution ever received by the medical center. One of the main reasons why Ms. Clago contributed to Providence Tarzana was the outstanding care that she and her family have received there throughout the years. She was successfully treated for breast cancer at the hospital, and her beloved father was able to spend his final days there. The funds she provided will go toward a $540 million initiative focusing on several areas of the nearly 50-year-old hospital, including expanded treatment and diagnostic areas, a new patient wing, and a new and larger Emergency Department.

With 30 years of experience in advising clients on their investments, Allison Clago is recognized as a securities industry expert. Frequently a featured symposium speaker and television commentator, Allison Clago has managed the introduction of IPOs to discount brokerage firms.

After spending more than seven years at Stockcross Financial Services in Beverly Hills, California, Ms. Clago assumed the role of managing director of investments at the Los Angeles-based Wedbush Securities, Inc. in January 2016. Advancing her education at the same time as her career, Ms. Clago is majoring in business and finance at California Lutheran University.

Always interested in giving back to the community, Ms. Clago is heavily involved in a scholarship society that benefits students of California Lutheran University.
