So here's the harvest of the bagged potato I was trying out this year. In all I counted 49 new potatoes which is pretty good! (Not to mention delicious). Really pleased with how it's come along, and when I dug my hands in there you should have seen my face :D. So proud of this harvest haha, it's not a crazy amount but for the 4 or 5 chitted potatoes I put in there this has done really well!

Still, I'm not awfully sure this was worth it. It took around 3 bags of compost (not really sure how much exactly) but that could be easily remedied by using some of the dirt on-site. I'd just have to worry about those annoying weeds >:C!

All in all I'd give this a 8/10 on the garden scale! ha.

Gonna sow some Sunshine Giant sunflower seeds in some pots today. Last year I grew a type of sunflower (really can't remember the name :$) and it didn't really do that well. I got two out of it though so not bad! So I've decided this year that I'll bring them on in a pot a bit 'till they're around 3-4 cm tall. This should make them a lot stronger so I SHOULD get more out of the packet.

After they're grown it'll be great to have some at the allotment to bring in those wonderful bees so they can pollinate our plants!

Plants are great

So my dad came back from the allotment and told me that the beans have started growing! I was pretty amazed since they looked dead to me! They never actually germinated at all until today, and the soil looked drenched so I just assumed they rotted and died.

It's amazing how things can grow when you don't expect them to! Another nice surprise was a couple days ago regarding the carrots my dad planted a while back and we thought the winter got them. But lo and behold when we looked down and saw a neat row of green things- carrot shoots! I'm super happy about it all and can't wait to do another little update vid :) and this time I wont be using my phone to record since I forked out the money for an actual cam! Yay!
