I am not surprised that anti-choice zealots would hypocritically obtain abortions, but I am thoroughly fucking shocked that they wouldn’t even attempt to hide their anti-choice views when doing so.

It’s not just anti-choice women—their husbands are often open to or even insistent upon abortion when it’s their wives or girlfriends. I used to know a woman whose boyfriend was adamantly anti-abortion but who freaked out and demanded she get one when she had a pregnancy scare… which he justified with, among other things, “I don’t want you to be fat during the wedding”.

This is really an issue of class. Public schools are reopening because the government wants the parents of low income kids to continue working and risking their lives doing “essential jobs.”

Meanwhile schools that primarily serve upper middle class and wealthy kids will not physically reopen. Plus, parents with the time, money and ability to homeschool their children or switch them to private will not be sending their kids to school in the fall.

Schools reopening is pretty much exclusively an attack on low income kids and their families. And the teachers and staff who serve them.

Medical diversity is key.
