I can’t even count how many times we fell asleep upside down. And I swear that winter never came. We stood higher than every city tower. You were gonna leave this all behind, and you asked me to run with you. And I couldn’t wait to take you all across the world. Our contrails would weave tattoos across the sky. But it was an endless summer parade that eventually took you away. I always found you at the top of an iron bridge, staring down at the swells wild blue waves, thinking about money and fear and time. You said it didn’t look that far down. But I swore, “We could handle nights like these, even if this winter never breaks.” We had gotten older now, and I promised that we would stay balanced. And I couldn’t wait to take you all across the world. Our contrails would weave tattoos across the sky. My knuckles white on the steering wheel, I followed all those highway signs. Hard at work on fresh sounds! Here’s a sliver of “Little Fragments,” a demo of our newest song. Enjoy! We’re also gonna have some acoustic videos coming up of songs new and old, thanks to my brother, Andy, who’s graciously agreed to let me be a test subject for his fancy new camera. Keep a look out!

Going forward, we’re hunkering down the next few months to continue working on our next record. We’ve got big plans for 2016, so keep up with us and you’ll be the first to know. (We’re not *not* going on tour next year, if that’s what you’re thinking.)

We’re jumping back into the tumblr thing. So let’s get everyone up to speed! 

First thing’s first: We’re quite overdue for introducing Zach, our brand spankin’ new bass player. Zach is a fantastic guy, and a gifted writer and singer for his own band, Badwater Sound. He joined us on stage for the first time last week at the Subterranean and totally killed it. Thanks again to everyone who made it to that show. It was by far our strongest set yet! 

Our next show—possibly the last one of the year!—is this Thursday night at The House Cafe in DeKalb. It’s $10, and $6 is going to support NIU UNICEF! We’re back playing with our best friends in Last Night in Leeds, 100 Aker Wood and This Inspired. We also have new friends we’ll be playing with in I, The Martian and Engine Summer.

Next on our radar is taking a break from shows to write our next EP and plan our first tour set for April. I’m gonna try to write these posts every week or so, so stay tuned!
