Youâd woken up to two small pairs of hands reaching over the side of the bed. It was still much too early to be awake, but your twins were awake and trying to climb into your bed. Still half asleep, you bent over the side of the bed to pick them up one at a time and drag them onto the bedspread.Â
Once they were both sitting on the covers, you whispered, âWhat are you two doing up? âS still so early. Mummy and Daddy are sleepy.â
âWe wanâ snuggle,â your little girl, Eleanor, replied in a whisper. Wyatt, her brother, who also appeared to still be half asleep, nodded in agreement.Â
Your heart nearly melted at their answer, and you agreed to let them crawl underneath the covers with you. They wouldnât want to do this forever, so you wanted to take advantage of the time while they did. âOkay,â you nodded, lifting the covers so they could join you, âBut weâre all gonna close our eyes for a bit longer, okay?â
Always a daddyâs girl, Eleanor pressed herself into Tomâs side, who was still fast asleep. He didnât have to be awake to curl an arm around her, though, and pull her closer. Wyatt joined you after a moment, placing himself on top of your chest, his head resting right over your heart.Â
They were both cuddly kids â took after their dad â but you couldnât really complain. With your hand rubbing soft circles over your little boyâs back, you asked in a whisper, âComfy, love bug?â He nodded in agreement, and it didnât take long until he was fast asleep against your chest.Â
When you woke up again, both of your kids were still fast asleep next to you, but Tom was missing from the pile of limbs and blankets. Youâd hoped it would be a quiet morning â cuddles and breakfast in bed with all of your loves â so you hoped Tom hadnât gotten up to get the day started.Â
Thankfully, Tom appeared in the doorway a few minutes later, a mug in each hand. Noticing you were awake, he couldnât help but grin at you as he crossed the room, moving to your side of the bed. His voice was soft, still raspy as he whispered, âMorning, love.âÂ
âGâmorning, baby,â you whispered in reply, shifting up to sit against the headboard, moving carefully so you wouldnât wake your babies. You pushed your chin up towards your husband as you grasped your mug in both hands, holding it to your chest. Tom took the hint, leaning down to press a soft kiss to your lips. âThanks for the coffee.âÂ
âAnytime, love. When did these two end up in bed with us?â he asked as he rounded the bed back to his side, slipping under the covers to sit against the headboard, too.Â
You glanced at the clock and then let out a yawn, âHour and a half ago maybe? Think El talked Wyatt into it, he was still half asleep.â You glanced down at Wyatt, whose head was resting in your lap now, and brushed your hand through his hair.Â
Tom laughed quietly, taking a sip of his tea, âSounds about right. Figured we could have a lazy day?â
âUgh, you read my mind. Breakfast in bed? We can cuddle and watch cartoons with these stinkers. Iâll have to get groceries at some point today, but that can wait til later.â
âSounds perfect,â Tom nodded in agreement, leaning over your sleeping babies to press another soft kiss to your lips.Â
dad Tom blurb where the son is wanting to do everything tom does :,)
âDada!â a tiny voice called, small feet padding over the hardwood floors. The sound always followed Tom, no matter where he was going, or what he was doing. As if creating Tomâs identical twin wasnât enough, Henry wanted nothing more than to be like his dad. If Tom got up for a second, Henry was a few feet behind. If he accidentally swore, a similar sound came from his babyâs lips. If he pressed a kiss to your cheek, Henry would whine until he could do the same.
Tom had only gotten up from the couch to refill his water, but Henry had followed, not wanting to be too far from his dad. Turning on his heel, Tom paused and crouched down, holding his arms out for Henry to toddle into, âHey, little man. Following me to the kitchen, hm?â Henry nodded as Tom scooped him up into his arms to carry him to the kitchen, âYou gonna help me out?â
Having had nearly a year of practice by now, Tom held his son in one arm, reaching up with the other to grab a cup from the cupboard. It was one of Henryâs â small and plastic, not likely to shatter if dropped. He gave the cup to his son, who clutched it to his chest with one hand, the other hand doing the baby sign language heâd been taught for water. âYou want water, bud? We can get you some water.â
Filling the cup proved to be a bit more difficult, but he managed to fill it just enough so it wouldnât spill everywhere, and set Henry down on the ground next to him, âOkay, hold on, just one minute. Daddy has to fill his cup, too.â
When he was done, Tom held his hand out for Henry to take, which he promptly did, still clutching the cup to his chest as he grasped his dadâs hand with his free one. âOkay, we have to be so, so careful,â Tom reminded, walking as slowly as possible so Henry could focus on not spilling his water.
They made it back out to the living room without too much of a mess, thankfully. Your heart swelled at the sight of your little boy waddling behind his dad as they moved back towards you and the couch. Tom took his spot next to you on the couch once more, leaning forward to set his cup on the coffee table.
Of course, Henry followed suit, placing his cup on the table next to Tomâs before throwing his arms in the air, âUp!â
âOh, you think you wanna come up here?â Tom teased, already moving to pull Henry onto the couch with you.
He nodded quickly, repeating his previous sentiment, âUp!â followed by the sign for please.
He quickly settled in between the two of you, getting cozy once more to watch his show. Tom laughed, unloading the show, and then kicking his feet up on the coffee table in front of him, ankles crossed over each other. It only took a moment before Henry was doing the same, though his legs didnât even reach the end of cushions. Still, he stretched his legs out, crossing them at the ankles. Anything to be like his dad.
Babysitting your baby cousin with tom and he can't stop thinking about when are you gonna have his kids?
âThere you go! All cozy in your jammies!â you smiled at your three-year-old cousin, Lucy, scooping her up into your arms, having just given her a bath and dressed her in her pajamas for the evening.Â
âCan we snuggle?â she asked, looking at you with wide eyes, arms sliding around your neck to hold on to you.Â
Lifting a hand, you smoothed over her hair and pulled her in to place a kiss on her forehead, âOh, of course! Wouldnât want to do anything else! Maybe we can watch a movie with Tom, too, huh?âÂ
Having heard his name, Tomâs head popped around the corner, a grin on his face at the sight of you with the little girl, âAre you talking about me?â
âMhm!â Lucy exclaimed, nodding emphatically, âI gonna pick a movie and then snuggle wif you and y/n!âÂ
âOh, that sounds perfect,â Tom replied as you carried Lucy his way, and then out to the couch, âWhat do you think we should watch, Lu?â
âSing 2!â
You exchanged a look with your boyfriend and laughed as Lucy situated herself in your lap to get comfortable, âI figured thatâs what youâd say.â
Tom turned on the movie and scooted in closer to you, arm snaking across your shoulders to pull you in. He leaned in, and you turned just enough to press a kiss to his cheek, whispering, âTen minutes and I bet sheâll be out.âÂ
He laughed softly, knowing you were right as his hand rubbed over your shoulder gently. Tom loved babysitting with you, because it reminded him just how good you were with kids; how good youâd be with your own kids one day. Lucy was just your cousin, but you treated her as if she was your own, and never failed to give her as much love as you possibly could. Anytime you were both around Lucy, he was sure his heart beat ten times faster, stomach quickly filled with butterflies. There was nothing he wanted more than to one day have a few little ones who looked like the perfect combination of the two of you.Â
A few minutes later, you realized that Lucy was finally asleep in your lap, âAaand sheâs fast asleââ your words trailed off as you found your boyfriend already looking at you intently, âWhat?â
Warmth rushed to Tomâs cheeks as he realized heâd been caught staring, and shook his head quickly, âNothing!âÂ
âWhat is it, babe?â you laughed, nudging your shoulder into his chest as your fingers continued to run through Lucyâs hair, wanting to make sure she stayed asleep.
âReally, itâs nothing,â Tom whispered, fingertips tracing shapes up and down the skin just underneath your sleeve, âYouâre really good with her, thatâs all.âÂ
Your eyes softened, heart nearly melting in your chest, âThanks, babe. I love her more than anything.âÂ
âI know you do,â his lips pressed to your temple. Taking in a deep breath, he added, âI hope this doesnât scare you off, but I just⌠I canât wait to have kids of our own one day. Youâll be the best mother.âÂ
This time it was your turn for your face to fill with warmth, a shy smile tugging at the corners of your lips, âI hope so.â Youâd talked casually about kids before with Tom â you knew for sure that both wanted a few of your own one day, but itâd never explicitly been your kids. âOne day weâll have our own.âÂ
âSoon?â he asked cheekily, grinning down at you.
âOne day, love, donât get too ahead of yourself.â
Oh yay! I have a few blurb ideas that Iâll submit if you need some prompts!! First one is: dad!tom or soon to be dad!tom calling reader Mum/Mumma/Mummy for the first time. :)
Letting out a loud sigh, you dropped onto the couch, kicking your feet up onto the coffee table. Your head tilted back against the couch as you pressed a hand to the small swell of your stomach. You hadnât expected pregnancy to be easy, but it was really kicking your butt; you were always exhausted and your body ached.
Tom, who had become even more attentive than usual, leaned over the back of the couch and pressed a kiss to the top of your head, âEverything okay, sweetheart?â
Blinking your eyes open, you glanced up at Tom, and couldnât help the smile that tugged at your lips. You reached up, gently cupping the back of his head, fingers tangling in his curls as you pulled him down for a soft kiss on the lips, âMm, Iâm okay. Just tired. Body hurts. Have to pee for the millionth time. The usual.â
âIs there anything I can do?â he asked as he rounded the couch and sat down next to you, leaning over to press a kiss to your cheek.
You reached out and grabbed Tomâs wrist carefully, placing the palm of his hand on your tummy, âIf you could be pregnant for a bit, that would be great. Give my ribs and bladder a break.â
He gave you a sympathetic smile, brushing his thumb back and forth gently, âYou know I would if I could, darling.â
âI know,â you smiled, leaning your head on his shoulder, âand I appreciate that. âM okay, though.â
It was silent for a few moments and you let your eyes close, feeling a bit more content next to Tom. That was until he suddenly sat up before moving to press his lips to your tummy. He did this frequently, and it warmed your heart, especially when heâd start talking to your growing baby. You leaned back again, and pushed a few curls back from his face as you watched him carefully.
âI know youâve got lots of growing to do, bub, but you need to relax a bit, yeah? Be nice to Mummy. Sheâs doinâ a lot of hard work, and âm sure sheâd appreciate if you stopped kicking her in the ribs, ya know?â Tom spoke softly, hand rubbing in soothing circles over your stomach.
Tears welled in your eyes as you listened to Tom, sweet butterflies filling your body. It was the first time heâd really called you âmummy,â and it made everything so much more real. Glancing up, Tom noticed the emotion in your face and immediately began worrying, âIs there something wrong? Are you feeling okay?â
âYes, Iâm perfect. Just⌠itâs just nice to hear,â you replied.
âWhatâs that?â
Warmth filled your face, feeling slightly embarrassed, as you hid behind your hands, âItâs nice to be called âmummyâ thatâs all. I like the sound of it. It makes it so much more real, and I just know all of this will be worth it.â
Tom grinned as he reached up to pull your hands away from your face so he could look at you properly, âYouâre going to be the best mum, my love. You already are.â
For the weekend sleepover, could I possibly ask for a blurb with dad!tom where the reader and tom are just waiting for their baby to wake up? Like just laying in bed in the domestic bliss. Thank youđ
pls this made me so soft i canât deal đĽş
â
Ellis had only recently started sleeping through the night consistently, and it was still something you werenât quite used to, so you woke up slightly panicked when you realized that sunlight was already filtering into the room through the blinds when you finally opened your eyes. Next to you, Tom groaned softly, awake from your quick movement, tightening his grip on your waist to pull you closer. His voice was still raspy from sleep as he spoke, âIs everything okay, love?â
Glancing behind you to the monitor on your nightstand â and finding your little boy still fast asleep on the screen â you nodded and turned back to your husband. You let out a yawn before replying, âMhm. Guess Iâm jusâ not used to Ellis sleeping through the night yet. Was worried for a second when I woke up.â
âMm,â Tom hummed in acknowledgement, ââs still weird. I wake up in the middle of the night and expect him to be crying.â
You nodded in agreement, and shuffled closer to Tomâs side, welcomed by his warm and sleepy embrace. He wrapped you up tightly, your cheek pressing against his chest, one of your legs moving over his hip. The window was behind Tom, backlighting him and making him look like he was glowing as you gazed up at him. Reaching up, you brushed a few messy curls out of his face, the pad of your thumb gently brushing up his cheekbones, âyâ look so pretty.â
A soft blush spread across his already warm cheeks, as he pushed his face into the crook of your neck in an attempt to hide his reaction from you, âStoooppppp. I do not. I know my hairâs a mess.â
Your fingers slid into his hair, cupping the back of his head as you held him close to you, ââs just true.â
Tomâs hand slid up from your hip, fingers brushing underneath the hem of your shirt against your skin. His lips pressed a soft kiss to your collarbone once, and then again, before he pulled back to look at you, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips, âIâm âsposed to say that to you.â
âThen say it,â you teased quietly, a small smirk on your lips.
âYouâre always so pretty, baby,â he grinned back at you before leaning in to peck your lips.
âFlatterer.â
âDoesnât mean itâs not true,â he replied, smoothing his hands over your hairline before pulling you back in. Nuzzling against him once again, you let out a soft sigh as he asked, âWhat are we doinâ today?â
âWish we could stay here all day. But âm pretty sure that lunch with your parents is today.â
âMm well we can stay here for a while,â Tom replied, fingers rubbing small shapes against the skin on your hip, âFeels kinda like it did before, when we could spend all morningââ
You quickly cut him off with a laugh, even though you agreed, âShh! Youâre gonna jinx it!â
âNo I wonât! Itâs fine, heâs still asleââ This time your son cut him off, his soft cries coming from the monitor beside your bed. You gave him a knowing look, pursing your lips. He smiled at you sheepishly, âOkay, yeah, maybe I did jinx it. Iâll go get him.â
Giving you another kiss, Tom scooted out from underneath the covers and went down the hall to the nursery. The monitor was still on next to you, and you quickly turned around to grab it, watching as Tom peeked into the room. You watched as Ellisâ face lit up as his dad appeared, and reached his hands up towards Tom. Tom scooped him up, immediately pressing kisses to Ellisâ chubby cheeks, whispering soft good mornings to him.
You flopped back onto the bed, pretending that you hadnât been spying on Tom as he finally carried your little boy into the room. Ellisâ face lit up again at the sight of you, âMama!â
âOh, there are my boys!â you cooed, taking Ellis into your arms and giving him a hug, âDid you sleep good, baby?â
âMhm,â he nodded, pressing his cheek to your chest.
âOh Iâm so glad,â you murmured and pressed a kiss to his head, âShould we have some morning cuddles with daddy before breakfast, bub?â
He nodded and grabbed for Tom again, who got back in bed next to you and wrapped his arms around both of you, âMorning cuddles with my favorite people is the best thing in the world.â
i donât think you write for peter so imagine tom calling his kids itsy bitsy spiders 𼚠âhave a good day at school itsy bitsy spiders,â âalright bath time for the itsy bitsy spiders,ââgood night my itsy bitsy spidersâ
The first time you heard Peter say it, and heâd realized youâd heard, his cheeks flushed a dark pink as he pressed one last kiss to Noahâs head and followed you out of the bedroom, door shutting behind you quietly. Once outside of the room, he turned towards you, giving you a playful glare, âDonât.â
âPete, thatâs so cute,â you cooed, wrapping your arms around his shoulders to pull him into you.
âHmph stop itttt,â he pouted, voice muffled as he pressed his face into the crook of your neck, hands sliding around your waist, âDonât make fun of me!â
âIâm not!â you reassured him, fingers running through his hair, âI think itâs adorable, and it totally makes sense, my Spidey. Though, sometimes I think youâre gonna expose yourselfâŚâ
âPft, no I wonât, Iâm careful.â
From that moment on, that was pretty much all he referred to Noah as. Bed time for his itsy bitsy spider. Be good at school, my itsy bitsy spider.
And then, once little Ellie was born, it was his itsy bitsy spiders. Heâd brought Noah into the hospital room, placing him onto the bed next to you, watching with tears in his eyes as Noah peered down at this little sister.
Glancing up at Peter, you reached for his hand, giving it a soft squeeze and a gentle smile, âYou okay?â
âMhm,â he laughed with tears in his eyes, âNow I have two itsy bitsy spiders.â
for a blurb request, iâm a sucker for dad!tom how about revealing your pregnancy with tom going to a red carpet together and heâs just so happy and wonât leave your side the whole night đĽş
Standing in front of the mirror, you looked at yourself carefully and took a deep breath. You smoothed down the fabric, hands resting over the small but obvious bump. Normally, the dresses youâd wear werenât quite so form-fitting, even for special occasions like this, but tonight was different. Tonight, youâd be announcing your pregnancy by showing up in a dress that made it quite obvious.Â
You were a few months along now, and it was getting harder and harder to hide the rapidly growing bump. So, with the premier of Tomâs newest movie, you both decided now was the time. And while you were excited, you were also incredibly nervous. Not only would people have something to say, it would make it all so much more real, and it would no longer be your little secret.
Arms slid around your body from behind, hands resting gently over your tummy, âYou look gorgeous, my love. Beautiful, absolutely breathtaking.â Tom could tell that you were nervous, and just his presence helped to calm your nerves.Â
âHm,â you breathed out softly, leaning back into his touch, ââs just the makeup, and this insanely expensive dress. I shouldnât be allowed near this dress; Iâm such a klutz already, and pregnancy is only making it worse.â
Tom scoffed, rubbing his hand in small circles, âDonât be ridiculous. You look so beautiful. The dress is pretty, but you, darlingâŚâ he trailed off, shaking his head with a lovesick grin before pressing a kiss to your cheek. âAnd I promise I wonât let you spill anything on it.â
Warmth rushed to your face at the compliments, and you quickly turned around to wrap your arms around your husbandâs neck, âI love you. Thank you.â
âNothing to thank me for,â he shook his head, pressing a kiss to your forehead, âAre you ready? Gonna have to leave soon.â
âNo,â you sighed softly before adding, âbut yes.â
-
Tom got out first, and the flashing lights from cameras were instantly blinding, even from inside the car. Your heart started racing as Tom leaned back in order to help you out. He could see the panic on your face, âHey, itâs okay. Iâll be by your side the entire night, I promise. But if you really donât want to do this, thatâs okay.â
Taking a deep breath, you shook your head quickly, âNo, itâs okay, Iâm okay. Iâm ready.â
âAre you sure?â he paused, scanning your face carefully. When you nodded, he stepped back to help you out of the car, placing a kiss to your cheek. Lights began flashing even faster, and screams erupted from the fans that were there. He was quick to grab your hand in his, lacing your fingers together tightly, and pulling you into his side, âIâve got you.â
Out of instinct, you moved your free hand to cradle your growing tummy carefully, which caused another burst of commotion. Tomâs hand also moved, partially pressing against the small bump, and partially resting over your hand. This calmed you instantly, and you turned your head to press a kiss to your husbandâs cheek.Â
Cameras went off again, but you were too distracted by Tom to really notice as he gave you a smile that was brighter than the flashing lights. You returned the smile, keeping close to him as he began to pull you along the red carpet.
Every time the two of you paused for pictures, Tom made a point to show you and your growing baby off. You could tell just how happy he was, with the way the bright smile never left his face, and how he mentioned the pregnancy in every interview he did, absolutely gushing about how much he loved you, and how excited he was. He even refused to let you out of his sight, keeping his promise that he'd be by your side the entire night.
how about dad tom comforting his little son who tripped and got a cut on his knee, so tom has to bandage him up and he kisses his booboos đĽş
âAlright, câmon, bub! Itâs time to go inside,â Tom called to his little boy from across the yard. Theyâd been kicking a ball back and forth for a bit, until Tom realized that you would be home soon, and he wanted to get dinner started.
His four-year-old, Nathan, immediately paused, hands dropping to his sides as he stuck his bottom lip out in a pout, âButââ
âCâmon, Nate! Mummy will be home soon, and we gotta get dinner ready! You can help me.â
This did the trick, and the little boy was taking off across the yard, until he tripped over an unseen root in the grass, causing him to tumble face first onto the ground. Tom winced, quickly jogging the short distance, âUh oh! Are you okay, sweetheart?â
Nathan sat up, and Tom could see the tears already welling in his eyes as he crouched down next to him. Looking up at him with wide eyes, Nathan hiccuped, âI gotta scrape!â
âI know, letâs get you cleaned up, yeah? Come here, sweetheart,â Tom frowned as the tears dripped down his sonâs cheeks, and quickly moved to scoop him up. Hugging Nathan to his chest, he carried him inside to the bathroom, rubbing his hand over Nathanâs back in an attempt to soothe him, âItâs alright, lovey, weâll get you a bandaid and itâll be okay.â
âO-okay,â Nathan nodded, hiccuping again as he pulled back enough to look up at Tom with tear-stained cheeks.
Tom pressed a kiss to his forehead as he set Nathan onto the bathroom counter, rubbing his thumbs across his sonâs cheeks to wipe away the tears, âOkay, Daddyâs gonna clean your scrape a little, but I promise itâll be quick.â
Wetting a washcloth, Tom gently dabbed at the small scrape to clean the blood and dirt on his knee. Nathan was squeezing his eyes shut, sniffling quietly. Tom grabbed two bandaids, holding them up for Nathan to see, âDo you want a dinosaur one or a superhero one?â
âI-is there a Spider-Man one?â Nathan sniffled again, blinking up at Tom.
A smile spread across Tomâs face, heart swelling in his chest at the request as he began searching for one, âHmm, Iâll look, bud. Letâs see⌠Captain America⌠Black Panther, Black Widow⌠ah! Here you go! One Spider-Man bandaid for you.â
Tom unwrapped the bandaid, carefully placing it over the scrape on Nathanâs knee, âThere you are! All better, huh? You feeling okay now, bud?â
âMhm!â Nathan nodded, pausing for a second before adding, âA kiss to make it better?â
âOh, of course! How could Daddy forget?!â Tom scoffed playfully, pressing a kiss to the bandaid on his knee, causing Nathan to giggle a little. Tom then pressed one more kiss to Nathanâs forehead as he ruffled his wavy hair and helped him off of the bathroom counter, âAlright, letâs get started on dinner then, yeah?â
Hereâs a dad!tom idea: his baby girl pretending to be asleep in the backseat because she wants to be carried out of the car. He knows sheâs faking it, but is more than happy to oblige. đĽ°
Omg the amount of times I did this as a kid LOL. this is so cute!!! Also wrote this with Tom & Maggie from my pinky promises series in mind. You donât need to have read the series to read this though!!!Â
-
Tom pulled the car into the driveway, shutting it off before announcing, âAlright, weâre home, love bug.â It had been a long day for the two of them; theyâd gone out to run a couple of errands before heading over to his parentsâ house for a family dinner. Maggie was fast asleep under five minutes on the drive home, but Tom thought heâd heard her playing with something in the back seat shortly before arriving home. Now, though, it was silent.Â
Unbuckling his seatbelt, he twisted in the seat, only to find his little girl, still sleepy with her eyes closed, but clearly awake, her lips twitching as she tried to not smile. He knew what she was doing â she wanted to be carried inside. Quite honestly, he knew he wouldnât be able to do it forever, so he was okay with letting her think sheâd tricked him, âOh no, my love bug is still asleep. I guess Iâll just have to carry her into the house.â
Maggieâs lips twitched again as she tried to hold back a giggle. Tom had to hold back his own laugh as he got out of the car and opened the back door to get Maggie out. Leaning into the car, Tom gathered up the few toys and stuffed animals that had been dumped out of Maggieâs tiny backpack throughout the day, and put the bag over one shoulder, unbuckling her seatbelt with the other hand.Â
Having had four years of practice now, he was able to maneuver her out of the car without hitting her head or his own, which was quite the feat considering she was much heavier more than she had been only a few years ago. He situated her against his chest, holding her carefully as he made his way inside. Placing one arm up her back for support, Tom cupped the back of her head gently, fingers tangling into the curls she had gotten from him.Â
He could feel her smile against his shoulder, and pressed a kiss to her temple, whispering, âLove you so much, Mags.â
Toeing off his shoes at the front door, he carried Maggie over to the couch, setting her down on it carefully before pulling a blanket over her body. Tom leaned down, brushing a few of Maggieâs curls out of her face, pressing another kiss to her forehead before moving to go let Tessa outside.Â
By the time he came back into the living room, Maggie was finally âawakeâ and grinning at Tom. Sitting down on the couch next to her, Tom rubbed his hand over her back, âWell hello, my sleeping beauty. Did you have a nice nap?â
âMhm,â she nodded, scooting to lay in Tomâs lap, âI love you, Daddy.âÂ
Ok but what about finding out youâre pregnant and being afraid to tell Tom because you havenât made your relationship public (even though itâs been years) and you donât want this to effect his career but he finds out somehow and is just the happiest and immediately wants to buy all the Abby things and baby proof the house and and and fluffy fluff. đĽş
the way this ended up being 1.2k lol what but thank u this is so soft đĽş
all i want
Eight letters stared up at you. For someone in a happy, healthy, and stable relationship of nearly five years with the man you were certain you wanted to marry and have kids with, the one small word shouldnât have scared you so much. But it did. Pregnant.Â
Though youâd been together going on five years, the two of you had somehow managed to keep your relationship under wraps. Outside of work, Tom was a private person and preferred to keep things that way, which was more than okay with you, as you didnât particularly enjoy the spotlight. But now that you were pregnant⌠it would be much harder to hide it all. Nausea swirled in your stomach, but you couldnât be sure if it was the anxiety or pregnancy. Or maybe the bit of excitement that was also mixed in. While you werenât sure the timing was right, due to Tomâs career taking off, you and Tom had talked about having kids before, so there was also a part of you that fluttered with nervous excitement. You just couldnât help that the anxiety seemed to be talking just a bit louder; you didnât want to jeopardize Tomâs career or your relationship with him.Â
Unsure of how you were going to tell Tom, you shoved the small pregnancy test to the back of one of your bathroom drawers. Youâd have to think of the perfect way to tell him, as well as swallow a bit of your fear before you could break the news. And the back of the drawer seemed like the best solution for the time being.Â
Only a few days later, Tom was rummaging through each and every single one of the bathroom drawers, looking for one of the new, spare toothbrushes you always had lying around, as his had just slipped out of his hands and onto the floor. While he knew this specific drawer was usually full of your hair products, he could really never be certain where you stashed stuff and was looking in every drawer just to be safe.Â
Spotting the test at the back of the drawer, but unsure of what it was, Tom pulled it out. It had been upside down, so he wasnât exactly sure what it was until he flipped it over. Pregnant. Tomâs heart began racing, a grin breaking out on his face as he read the words again to make sure heâd read it correctly. You were pregnant.Â
If there was one thing in life that Tom was sure of, it was that you were the person he wanted to spend his life with; to get married, have kids, and grow old together. And the possibility that that could start now excited him. He wasnât sure how long youâd known, or why you hadnât told him yet, be he wasnât worried. He knew you would tell him when you felt ready to. So, instead, he tucked the small test back into the back of the drawer, and thought of ways he could potentially hint to it, to let you know that it was okay.Â
Over the next few days, Tom insisted that you get to bed early to get as much rest as possible, refused to let you carry anything heavy, and had even bought you some of your favorite chocolates, just when you started to crave them. And, when he had been at the store, he saw the smallest, cutest Spider-Man onesie heâd ever seen, and couldnât resist buying it. Heâd give it to you when you were ready.Â
It was only a few more days later when you finally felt ready to tell Tom. Fear was still eating you up inside, but youâd sat with the secret for nearly a week, and it was killing you to keep it from Tom. You decided that after dinner was the best time, and retrieved the rest from the back of the drawer, keeping it hidden in your pocket until you were ready.Â
Tom got out of his chair, scooping up his plate and yours to bring them to the kitchen, pressing a kiss to the top of your head as he walked by. Deciding it was now or never, you quickly pushed your chair back, and followed Tom into the kitchen. He had already started rinsing dishes and putting them into the dishwasher, so you took a seat at one of the stools at the counter.Â
The two of you sat in comfortable silence for a few minutes, Tom humming to himself as he continued to clean up the mess made during dinner. Taking a deep breath, you clasped your hands together and finally looked up at your boyfriend, âTom?â
âYes, my love?â Tom replied, back still facing you.Â
âI, umm⌠I have something to tell you. Itâs important.â
This for Tomâs attention, and he quickly dried his hands on a towel, turning around, eyes wide as he quickly blurted out, âOkay, just hold that thought! Iâll be right back!â
âNo, Tom, itâs reallyââÂ
He was already halfway up the stairs before you could finish your sentence, taking them two at a time so he could get back to you as quickly as possible. You never quite understood what was going through his head. To his credit, though, he was back in a minute, holding a small gift bag in his hands.Â
âWhat is that?â you asked, utterly confused as to what it could be for, and why it was so important.Â
âYouâll find out, darling. What did you want to tell me?â
You shook your head in amusement, and then turned on the stool to face Tom. Your heart was racing but you knew you had to do it now, âIâm pregnant, Tom.â
A huge smile broke out on Tomâs face as he closed the space between you, moving to stand between your legs. Without saying anything, he held the small bag out to you, placing one of his hands on your knee.Â
Furrowing your eyebrows together, you took the bag and slowly pulled the wrapping out of it, only to find the small onesie Tom had bought. Your eyes filled with tears as your head whipped up, a smile tugging at your lips, âYou knew? How?â
Tom laughed as he wrapped his arms around you, pulling you in as close as possible, âI accidentally found the test in the drawer a few days ago.â His lips pressed to the top of your head, the warm palm of his hand running over your back, âIâm so happy, darling.â
At this, you burst into tears from the relief. Your voice came out muffled against his shirt, âY-youâre not mad?â
âLove, how could I be mad?â he questioned, pulling back just enough to cup your cheeks in his hands. He was staring at you seriously, a few tears welling in his eyes now as he looked at you, thumb brushing over your cheek to wipe away your tears.Â
âI-I donât know,â you hiccuped, leaning into his touch, âTh-that I didnât tell you right away. Or, or maybe itâs just not the right time, the public doesnât even know weâre together, and Iââ
Tom cut off your nervous rambling with a soft kiss to your lips, âI couldnât be mad about this. Weâre having a baby. I love you so much, sweetheart, this is all I could ever want.âÂ
âWeâre having a baby,â you repeated with a soft laugh, giving Tom another kiss, âI love you so much, Tom.âÂ
âThis weekend, weâll go to the store and start buying stuff, okay? Bottles, a crib, diapersââ
