Get your bling on

For some reason, I always found it very difficult to spend a lot of money on jewels, with some rare exceptions. But finally the urge to have some arm candy slowly got me investing into a humble yet fabulous collection of my own :-)

It started out with the neon pink and grey Marc by Marc Jacobs I purchased on Shopbop in May. Affordable and so worth it. Perfect online shopping experience too. Ordered on Friday, and my goodies were delivered on Monday. 

Soon after that, I went to Forever 21 in Brussels for the very first time and although the shopping experience is somewhat overcrowded, the reasonably priced übercool overload of jewels kind of made up for that. And that's where it all started. 

Big ups for Zara jewelry as well. They're slowly adding more and more jewelry to their collections and some of the pieces really are the jewels in the crown.  

A couple of weeks ago I spent a long weekend in London (more coming on that soon). Perfect opportunity to pay a visit to my favourite jewellery store, Tatty Devine and am absolutely delighted with my name necklace. And also got carried away and also bought the very cheerful 'Jubilee' bunting necklace (twice, bought my niece one as well).

H&M - Fall 2012

Time flies. It's already been more than two weeks ago I joined Letilor to the presentation of the H&M Fall 2012 collection as well as items of the spring summer collection which will be available in stores soon. 

Overall the collection consisted of pretty nice accessories - lots of eye catchers - and a varied clothing selection with many must-haves. Think neon, gold, punk and magic.

Candy like a Rockstar

Today I got a call from the Furla store since the Candy Rockstar bag was now officially in stock. Why did they give me a call? Well... Perhaps because last time I was there I told the shop manager that it was the best version of the Candy ever. Oh, and that I wondered what it would look like for real.

Pros: Matches half my closet. Great size. Tough yet feminine. Not classic but refined. 

Cons: none, except I cannot afford it right now. Or I would have to sell my other Candy bag (you know, the blue one) to sponsor this one. But somehow, that just doesn't feel right.

So, Friday I'm heading out to the store to see the real Candy Rockstar. Let's just hope I can resist it...

Skull part 2

So as you can see my little trip last week to H&M was a success!!!

Sunny weather called out for cutoff jeans, black wedges and a black cardigan to combine my very desired new skull t-shirt with. 

Oooh, and a great opportunity to wear my completely foldable Wayfarer look-a-like sunnies. Yet again, great colour! The ideal Sunday outfit to go out for lunch, go shopping, buy flowers for my mum and hang out in the sun.

Comfy casual Thursdays

Last thursday, I had these Zara boots on my feet. Combined them with baggy black trousers and black and white striped T-shirt. Comfy, casual and oh so cool.

Skull part 1

Yesterday my very fashionable colleague Judith bought this T-shirt and as soon as I saw it, I had to have it. So as this post appears, I will be on my way to H&M - remember the Woluwe Shopping Center being two minutes from my office - to get my own. Can't wait to wear it with loose black pants and black wedge sneakers... Coming soon!

Sunday Evening Melancholy

Sunday evening's melancholy hit me hard yesterday. The weather had been bad all weekend and the lack of sunshine was getting under my skin.

Last year this time of year was amazing. The sun was shining every day, it was hot and I always looked forward to Sundays for our Pretty Perfect Strangers dates with lovely make-up artist/sweetheart Anne-Laure and photographer/buddy Pieter Vanderbeeken.

But times were also busy, I made an exciting career move, Anne-Laure was being booked full-time and Pieter took up a time consuming MBA class. There was just no time left to put into our blog. I have spent months wanting to start over again, but my new job - good choice! - was time and energy consuming (so much interesting stuff to learn).  

So I've picked up again and while I was lingering about May last year, I came across some unpublished photos of last year featuring some jewelry by Annebel (who's been travelling for the past six months but is now back again). Thanks again to my fellow Pretty Perfect Strangers (miss you!)!!

Hey Sailor by MAC @ Woluwe Shopping Center

Last Friday MAC, my utmost number one favourite make-up brand in the world, opened its first temporary store in the Benelux in the Woluwe Shopping Center, which - thank God - happens to be only 2 minutes away from the office. The ideal occasion for a Friday after work with my sister. 

The temporary store was fully packed with bloggers and the collection looked amazing. Both artwork and products looked gorgeous. 

Think navy goes glamour! Lots of red, a hint of deep blue and gold galore! Loved the bronzers, the "To the Beach" body oils with tiny golden glitters, the eye shadows, let's say basically the entire collection. 

Lif, event artist at MAC, and her lovely colleague took the time to show us the collection's products and did our make-up. So, despite my intent not to spend too much, there was just no way I could resist - neither did my sister by the way.

So which items did I add to my already huge MAC collection? The golden eye pencil, a brown eye pencil for a perfect finishing, a bronzer, the body oil and the golden eye shadow. 

I guess the verdict is clear: go get your Hey Sailor gear soon!

Balenciaga... broke my heart

It was bound to happen.

It was just going to be a quick visit to the Furla store in the Av. Louise to get a Candy Bag (and maybe some matching accessories ok). It was a sunny day, the city was buzzing with traffic but I could almost smell the summer... 

And then this beautiful thing in a window shop caught my eye. Wow. I stared at it in awe. For at least 5 minutes. A breath taking dress: impeccable cut, dazzling fabric and the ideal length. Very chic but somehow casual and summery. Unique yet wearable. The new apple of my eye.

Suddenly it hit me, I could never afford a thing of such beauty. So I gave it a last look and stepped back into the car and head back to work. It was a short but unforgettable lunch break. 

You see, my brother-in-law is getting married in July. And the thing is, I need a dress. I hadn't been worrying much since time is on my side, but ever since I have seen her, she's the only dress worthy of such an occasion. I keep looking every now and then for another one, but no other dress can live up to my expectations. There's just no competing with her...

Hi, my name is Setareh and I'm a shopaholic. 

I was planning on starting this blog a while ago as a way of quitting shopping for a whole month and preventing myself from another shopping OD. But, that didn't work out well for me. 

Trust me, I'm keeping it low lately, avoiding online shops and crowded city centres so I'm slowly moving in the right direction.

But the reality is that shoes make me happy, bags make me blush and all the rest is matching the one or the other. Call me another fashion addict, materialistic, shallow or whatever you want. I look at it this way:  I have the one most important thing in my life (the man) and I consider everything else as a little extra!
