“Tsk. You won’t get killed. Well…if you do you’ll just come back. If you don’t go then I’ll just bring Amy and then you’ll have to go because I know that you don’t always like her traveling alone with me.”
❛ alright, alright, just one ultimatum is enough. and we don’t KNOW that i’ll come back if i’m killed. that’s that’s not set in stone, is it? ❜
fangirl challenge (4/10) male characters » Rory Williams “The Doctor said the Universe was huge and ridiculous and sometimes there were miracles. I could do with a ridiculous miracle about now.”
&& queclarative.
❝ i thought that was supposed to happen. or like.. some aesthetic crap. —– so that’s a bad thing? well shit! we’re not going to die, are we? ❞
❛ most alien technology is designed to be efficient, not aesthetically pleasing. and i could say the EXACT same thing about aliens themselves. remains to be seen. hopefully not. ❜
saving the universe just in time for grounding the kids. edit here
“I’D FORGOTTEN NOT ALL VICTORIES ABOUT SAVING THE UNIVERSE.”
what an important moment. what a monumentally important moment, and just one of the reasons why rory williams is such an important character. he’s been traversing the cosmos, racing through the starways with the doctor this odd little fellow with his suit and bowtie, saving planets and moons and worlds from destruction, and yet rory never allows himself to lose sight of the small things. in this vast, wide-open universe that serves as the doctor’s playground, it’s easy to forget about home about the little people on this tiny blue marble, bumbling about their everyday lives, going from point a to point b to point a. rory is the one who genuinely appreciates the little moments nestled in between all the pomp and circumstance. after all, not all victories are about saving the universe.

IF SHE’S YOURS, YOU’RE HERS. And, truly, there is a PURPOSE to this visit – and she has so counted on her Very Right assessment of him to have taken this path. This is an INTELLIGENT risk; there has always been very little risk with Rory. DEPENDABLE Rory – all sometimes stammering geniality, all sweet safety of HOME – whom she knew was her best chance at getting away with her, albeit, BORROWED PLAN.
It is, admittedly, not a great plan. Many a SITCOM and overly funded SUMMER BLOCKBUSTER have demonstrated its many flaws. Yet desperation breeds CLICHÉS and the English Literature major in her will argue that the reason why these things live on for so long is because of their effectivity. She’s grasping, she will admit if asked; but does he know how the last of her HOPES rest as fragile as parchment-skin in HIS hands ? ( Hyperbolic, yes, but desperation breeds that too. )
❝ GREAT ! Because I … kiiiind of need a bit of a favour. Pretend to be my boyfriend over dinner ? ❞
rory is left to be stunned in the moments following her request; he stares at her, completely and utterly bemused, trying to glean whether or not she’s joking ( and it is oftentimes very DIFFICULT to tell when clara oswald is in the mix, after all ; )
this little scheme really does reek of her, doesn’t it a bit odd, a bit out of the ordinary, very much wildly out of left field. he wouldn’t be EXAGGERATING in the slightest to say that he could think of at least twenty different reasons that this would be a terrible idea. rory has little to no reason to agree.
❛ alright, fine, ❜ he says, regardless.

She fights back a hearty laugh and settles for a bemused chuckle. ❝ Oh, there is that sort of technology in existence, dear, but I’m afraid I don’t have access to it. ❞ Her smile fades a bit as she glances around, taking in every single facet of the situation and realizing that things aren’t looking well for the pair of them. ❝ I’m also afraid that this isn’t a DREAM. It’s very real. And very dangerous. I do hope you brought your running shoes, Rory. ❞
rory huffs, a tad annoyed, but adjusting to the situation rapidly regardless; there really is no other way to survive in the world that he’s unceremoniously been thrown into. the threat of death seems to be rearing its ugly head again although that does seem to happen ALARMINGLY often.
❛ alright. terrific. really, really great. let’s go, then. ❜
&& queclarative:
❝ what, WHAT, what is it? ——- i’m not good with signs. ❞
❛ sorry, but are you missing the blue smoke erupting from this thing? ❜
&& champiiion.
A sigh, a very dramatic sigh, and then a pause. ❝ Right, one more time, then —- ❞ Holding up his hands and displaying his fingers, wigging one with each point he’s trying to make, respectively. ❝ ONE: we’ve just stumbled upon the find of the century( more or less ). TWO: I’m not exactly sure how t’get it back to the TARDIS. An’ THREE: we should probably figure it out soon, ‘cause I have a feelin’ that the volcano might not remain docile that much longer, well, it’s not really a volcano, is it? More of a…. artificial reactor that happens to contain molten rock – a weaponized mountain – alright, a volcano. ❞
the news brings forth a glorious eye-roll, no holds barred, obviously. being desensitized to the idea of possible DEATH was never high on rory’s bucket list, but then again, neither was being sucked into a world of aliens. or, actually, one alien. with a very high IQ and a tendency to flaunt it.
❛ alright, so the FACTS are that there’s a volcano, there’s us, and sometime very soon, those two things are going to collide. got it. what’s the plan, then, doctor? ❜
Amelia Pond, like a name in a fairy tale.
&& queclarative liked this post.
❛ oh oh, no. that’s not a GOOD sign. ❜
&& “the boy who waited.”

❝ AND YOU’RE NOT A PATIENT. ❞
NOT EVEN A BREATH is spared as ever quickly does she quip, already too certain in the knowledge that she’s won. ( Not that this is a COMPETITION. ) The thing about Clara Oswald is that she carries with her a CERTAINTY in her spine that makes her stand as if the whole world and its people are the ones looking up to HER.
UNFAZED at the possibility that she might get him in trouble with this dabbling – she goes straight in for the KILL. While he was counting words, she’d counted EXIT SIGNS – and she is a rather difficult woman to say NO to. Such is the case for people who WORK for control and hardly ever let go of it once its theirs. ( You never stood a chance, mate; you’re this CONTROL FREAK’S prey for the day. ) Barely a breath out of place, she swerves to put herself DIRECTLY in front of him – hands on the sides, as if calming a frightened, wounded animal.
❝ Okay. So, listen. … Have you ever met my AUNT LINDA ? ❞
there she is, then, his clara oswald: always moving, always barreling right onward to the next thing without ever stopping. he MAYBE should have learned not to try and goad her into leaving with weak ploys that she could see through with her eyes closed. she’s far too quick for him for anyone to handle, really. thank god she opts to handle herself most of the time.
a quick aside glance at the clock ; he’s on his break, but she doesn’t need to know that. and someone could very well be RUSHED in here sometime soon, bleeding to death or something similarly urgent. ( obviously, he doesn’t hope that’ll happen. obviously! obviously not. ) & clara oswald’s smug looks will turn out to be quite distracting, if that should happen.
❛ no, clara, i don’t believe i’ve had the pleasure. ❜
You know when sometimes you meet someone so beautiful and then you actually talk to them and five minutes later they’re as dull as a brick? Then there’s other people, when you meet them you think, “Not bad. They’re okay.” And then you get to know them and… and their face just sort of becomes them. Like their personality’s written all over it. And they just turn into something so beautiful.
