Wow, it's been a while since I posted here! Let's change that. Enjoying making characters recently. Have a bunny. She wasn't meant to look quite so creepy, but that seems to be my direction these days.

An older contribution to Orcs Must Die 3 that I forgot to upload. I love doing lighting, really hoping to get the chance to do more soon. Worldbuilding.... is a staple in my career these days!

Work has been very full on, so the thought of sitting and doing personal art has not been appealing - until today. Dusting off an old project, the Crystal Gems house! I cringe at how old this piece is, but there was a lot of potential to work with, so I stripped the textures and started again. Not a lot to show today, but it will get faster now the project is re-organized!
Trying to make sure I carve out some time to work on personal art - can be hard to find the time these days! Still noodling with this piece, it is a complicated one!
Have so many projects in the works, I have set a new rule - no new ones, till the old ones are completed. It's very hard to obey that rule!
I finished up a piece today - images to follow - and decided to start on a new project tonight; an idea I have had bouncing around for a while. I wanted to do another Stalenhag weirdness inspired piece, but with my own twist. I recently found images of an adorable cassette player from the 90's, and now I am going to do really disturbing things to it. The more disturbing the better. Ehehehehe, this one is going to be fun!
I am still arting, just a little slowly at the moment, and feeling like sharing WIPs is a bit pointless - but it's also fun sometimes, so have a very weird WIP. I have two other projects that also need final images made, but for some reason I find that one of the hardest things to be motivated to do!
Random one hour-ish horse head just because I wanted to see if I could make a horse. I like it enough to try and finish it at somepoint
Sleepy, yet still sculpting rocks. Both a frustrating, and relaxing process.
Finally. The deed is done.
I started work on this monster before I even entered the industry. It always ended up being pushed on the back burner as I wasn't working directly on hand-painted projects and so I put my energy into other practice pieces. Then in 2020 during lockdown, I finally finished it!
There are many, many things I would do differently now, in particular I would make the wall geo double sided and make the overall scene more presentable. I reworked a lot of the textures and would model a lot of the assets very differently. However, this piece still remains one of my favourites.
Testing materials on the salamander, wanting to keep personality alongside a more life-like final result.
A splash of polypainting tonight on this dude.
Secondary pass at trying to make realistic amphibian skin - it is a slow process, but I think it is starting to come together
Base texture on the cave salamander - now for the pass that will hopefully make him look more realistic....
Realistic rocks are really hard to sculpt and I see a lot more practice in my near future.
A little bit more on the Cave Salamander

I love Roger. I love his personas. Some in particular are just so great that I have to model them. I made a couple a long time ago and had been contemplating making myself a new base model so I could continue this project, when this persona showed up in an episode and I loved her so much I knew I had to dust off this old project and make a new Roger!
I originally started this piece around March last year just before we went into lockdown so it is bittersweet that I finish it on close to the one year anniversary of all this mess
I need to decide which persona to do next, there are so many good ones!https://www.artstation.com/artwork/R3VL6y
