terraluminosa:
for a moment, phichit is too distracted by seung-gil to focus on his own krathong. aside from the fact that his boyfriend is absolutely gorgeous, especially with the warm glow from the candles lighting up his face and reflecting in his expressive eyes, there’s something so heart-warming about seeing seung-gil with his own self-made krathong in his hands, performing traditions phichit has known since childhood. even if it’s seung-gil’s first time doing this, it looks right, in the way that this is how it should be– the two of them crouched by the river, smiling and placing lit krathongs in the water, nudging them away to join the others. it feels right.
i wish for our happiness. for the two of us to stay happy and healthy together.
just like seung-gil, he keeps his wish to himself, still believing the childish notion that saying it out loud may keep it from coming true. but even if fate decides not to grant his wish, phichit will do everything in his power to grant it himself, and he knows he can do that, knows that they can do it together.
as the gentle river currents float their krathongs further away, phichit puts his palms together, bowing his head slightly and leaning his hands against his forehead as he begins a silent prayer. perhaps it wasn’t necessary, but just like he had encouraged seung-gil to do whatever felt right, phichit would take his own advice too and pray for the two of them, his family, and the rest of his friends. he’s not the most religious person in his family, but he does pray from time to time, something seung-gil already knows.
he lifts his head once he’s done, smile as gentle as it had been before. his calmness didn’t mean he was no less enthusiastic than the people around them, but praying and placing krathongs in the river always put him in a calm state of mind. “thank you for doing this with me. i know i already told you while we were making the krathongs but– it really means a lot to me.” his smile widens, “maybe next time, we can travel up north to see the lanterns.”
Seung-gil remains silent as he watches Phichit clap his hands together to pray. It’s hardly the first time he had seen the other do something like this, and he always made sure to be respectful. He had never been one for praying himself, so he was content to stand up once more and wait for the other to be done. In the mean time he found himself watching the river, admiring how peaceful everything seemed.
It was then that he had decided that he would do his best to make it to Thailand every year around this time so he could partake in this holiday with Phichit. Sure he wasn’t even remotely Thai and perhaps it was rude of him to intrude on a holiday that wasn’t his.. but if Phichit was willing to have him around then he would ensure that he made it down.
When Phichit speaks his attention is turned back to the other skater and he gives a soft nod. “You are welcome..” he said softly, his attention turning back to the river for just a few moments more. “It has.. been quite the experience.” he commented softly. He moved to stand just a bit closer to Phichit, taking the other’s hand in his own.
“It is beautiful..” he whispered softly, glancing back at Phichit to offer a soft smile. He wasn’t one for public displays of affection very often, but the moment felt right enough for him to lean in just a bit more and capture Phichit’s lips up in a soft and gentle kiss. It lasted only a few moments before he pulled away, the small smile never leaving his lips.
“I am looking forward to it.”
