Peggy’s red dress

I was rewatching S2 of Agent Carter today, and something caught my attention. In 2x01 we see Peggy asking Daniel if he would be up for a drink; he declines, and Peggy sees him walking away from the SSR office with a girl, who she will then know as Violet.

What made me stop the video was Peggy’s dress.

This outfit, shoes included, immediately rang a bell. It is the one she is wearing during the musical number in 2x09.

So here it is, Peggy Carter, asking Daniel out for a drink but having to watch him go to another woman.

Then, when her mind is playing tricks on her, some days and a lot of dresses after that night, she sees herself in that red one. This time, she meets him near the counter at the diner. They don’t have a drink, but she finally gets her dance [And I don’t even think that it’s a coincidence that she was wearing a red dress also when she spoke with Steve about going dancing when everything would have been over].

It’s like her mind is trying to find closure for that drink she and Daniel keep on postponing. Daniel is there, in one of his signature sweater vests, offering her an arm.

And this is how she looks at him, caught up in her dream.

I do believe that they finally had a drink together, after the 2x10 kiss, and she was wearing her red dress.

State of disaster has been declared in Alaska.

Please continue to pray for the Alaskan community. The sockeye fire spread to almost 9,000 acres almost 12 hours ago (don’t know where it’s at now) Many homes have been destroyed, thousands evacuated - plus it’s a large dog mushing community which means more animals to evacuate.

The weather is only supposed to get Warner and dryer - 85 degrees all week which is rare for Alaska.

I likened her character to that famous Ginger Rogers quote. She can do everything Captain America can do, but backwards and in high heels. She’s an English soldier through and through, although she always looks fabulous. i hate this thing modern superhero movies/shows are doing where nobody is willing to say the actual name of the superhero but they’re fucking coy about it they’re like “the mask” “the arrow” “the cape” “the streak” “the nine-second farting noise i hear when they refuse to say the superhero name because the writers are somehow convinced that that adds an element of cute tension”

so i was reading jla when i came across this panel. superman, a hero wally probably grew up admiring, tells him that he has some of the most experience on the league. that’s really cool

and true af

wally has been in the superhero business since he was in fourth grade, working aside iconic superheroes like batman, superman, and wonder woman when they too were just starting out their hero careers 

wally is probably twenty years younger than most the league, but he has just as much experience and respect as them. they don’t treat them like the little kid they all knew him as at one point. he’s earned his place as their equal
