I read this thinking that they just messed up with the word “can” and that this was an if-then statemen, and though “if you want...,” then...what??

Took me forever to realize it should be read as “it’s insane how if you want, a little animal can live with you”

I hate grammar nazis, but commas (or any kind of indicated) are important when conveying pauses in text. Or, and more plausibly, I’m just dumb for reading it wrong in the first place
