HAPPY PA WEEK! 👏🏻
What is a PA and why did I choose this route?
A PA can basically do everything a physician can except surgery.
-We can prescribe medications.
-Do physical exams.
-See patients
I specifically chose to be a PA because:
- I love the team based model, I am excited to work as a team with other medical providers.
- 2 years of school vs. 4+ years of school? I’ll take the 2!
- there is so much flexibility with PAs! We don’t need to specialize in just one thing, we can move around and learn new things.
Today marks 1 whole month of this rollercoaster ride and I’m excited to continue on it for the next 27 months!
TGIF? This was a rough week. After two exams I’ve really been struggling. Another exam tomorrow and then two next week. When they say PA school is a crazy rollercoaster, that is the truth! I have 2 weeks in the next 3 months that don’t have exams, so this is the start to a very rough ride. It’ll be worth it in the end 😌
Day 21:
1st Pharm exam ✔️
Derm & Ortho exam tomorrow
Got my first practical back and I passed!! 💯
Learning all the skin and ortho stuff is a little overwhelming but I can do this!!
PA school, day 16. Spending my weekend studying for pharm and fun med ✌🏻
Day 13
Upper extremity fractures, 174 ppt slides. 🤯
It’s been 13 days since I’ve started school and I’ve learned all about dermatology, started cadaver lab and am in the middle of ortho.
First practical Thursday and first exams are next week 😣
About Me
-First generation PA student
-Accepted after 4 years of applying
I love giving tips and tricks to pre-pa students, if you have any questions send them my way 🤗
I’ve noticed there aren’t too many blogs that give tips on taking notes for PA students so hopefully I can help spread some of my notes to everyone!
