The Pokemon GO event has been postponed for Friday due to my busy schedule. Things are nearly done; I just need to refine some of the details a little and finish the graphics.
Thank you for being patient!
As always, let us know if you have any questions.
I'm sorry I'm confused, both the fairy gym leader and the dragon gym leader are reserved, but the dragon gym leader is crossed out? So is the dragon gym leader already taken or something??
Oh, I see! Sorry for the confusion. Both the dragon and the fairy gym leader are reserved– I just forgot to cross out the skeleton for the fairy gym leader! The page has been updated with its revisions now.
just a curious question, but why do 'races' still exist in the rp's universe? in the pokemon universe there aren't any races (for example, chinese, korean, caucasian) and the only thing that really sets people apart geographically is what region/town they're from, so why are races still a thing here? :^0
I don’t think we’ve really stressed ethnicities in this roleplay like you’re implying. We don’t have a preference to who you play, besides advocating for POCs as we are POC inclusive. If a muse has pride in their background and draws inspiration from a particular culture, we have no problem with it and neither should you. We don’t find it a big deal even if it clashes with the Pokemon universe.
WORLDWIDE PHENOMENON, POKEMON GO, TO FINALLY LAUNCH IN THE ALOLA REGION!
After much success in other regions, Pokemon Go will finally be available for Alola trainers. Join an elite team, find nearby pokemon with ease, and conquer local landmarks as yours! Coming soon for both your Rotomdex and Pokedex as a module in a Pokemon Center near you!
Are pokemon still allowed to use fly (especially if they're coming from other regions that allow fly)? Or are all the HMs just null like in the games?
Hello! In Alola, transportation and commutes are used mainly through the Ride Pager. This allows certain Pokemon to be used for their services as a way to get around. So technically, yes, Fly would be allowed!
Do pokémon go by the height stated in the dex or by the anime? I'm so used to using the anime heights (for more convenience) so I just thought I'd ask!
I think going by the height from the anime would be best so you can have the visualization in case you need it. I know there was an occurrence though where Charizards shows up huge in the original series, and then back to the height Nintendo claimed it is on Pokemon Origins so.. I’ll leave this option up to you and whatever seems fit.
All reserves (excluding the reservation for park jimin) will end tonight! If you had reserved someone and would like to keep this faceclaim, please send in an extension request along with your password. You will have until Wednesday to send in an application!
Current members, please post up a starter or reply to the ones available if you haven’t already! Five days of inactivity on your account without notifying the main will lead to losing your faceclaim and being opened for new applications. Thank you!
An event teaser will be introduced sometime tonight. I was supposed to do it yesterday but I felt it wasn’t perfected enough so you’ll get it today instead.
Meet Delinquent Trainer HALI LAWEHALA. Born DECEMBER 29, currently 20. She’s IKI TOWN born and has recently been given a TORRACAT(F)and x2 LUXURY BALLS and a x2 MAX REVIVES.
‶ It is said that Tapu Koko rescues the unwanted boys – those who are left out in the cold, or forgotten in the nursery – from across Alola and brings them to the Kahuna of Iki Town, the old Lawehala……… ″
For years, these young men have been the spiritual leaders of Iki Town, and their connection to the mythical pokemon of the region. No one knew what to do when Tapu Koko dropped off a baby girl.
Born into a string of older brothers, and raised by the elders of Iki Town, Hali Lawehala grew up loved, but lonely. A complete tomboy, Hali was always in the shadow of the rest of her family – all loved by Tapu Koko, and every happy pokemon. But she bonded solely with dark, ghost, and poison type pokemon, considered Bad Omens in the Iki Town tradition. Like her pokemon, Hali grew to be dark and bitter.
She left Iki Town the moment she could, itching to make a name for herself in Alola without being known as the Kahuna’s infamous daughter. Now, Hali has her sights set on becoming a better Pokemon trainer, and meeting more people in Alola.
Meet Team Skull Grunt NA ‘ NOVA ‘ JIHO. Born DECEMBER 8, currently 17. He’s MALIE CITY born and has recently been given a WARTORTLE(M)and x2 LUXURY BALLS and a x2 MAX REVIVES.
‶ The day Jiho left, he never looked back. His entire childhood had been an amalgamation of his parents’ desires. They, of course, had desired their son to walk in their footsteps of being renowned doctors - so it was only natural that if, from young, you cultivate a similar passion in your child, it could only bloom and blossom, right?… ″
Wrong.
Jiho had instead, developed a love for tinkering with objects. Machines fascinated him - he liked to take them apart, and then try to put them back together again; it was a process that he could never get tired of.
Try as he might, but the scene from that night plays in Jiho’s head again and again - his mother’s scream of outrage at him - you useless child, we had so much faith in you, where did we go wrong - his father barging into his room, knuckles white with anger as they gripped his report card, and in the other hand, the cane that he was going to hit him with - the sound of Jiho’s current project, a solar-powered toy car, being hurled against the wall and smashed into pieces - a few screams of pain, accompanied by the sound of wood against flesh, the sound of a door slamming - and then silence.
A wheel from his car rolls towards him and taps him lightly as it comes to a stop.
His eyes begin to water, and he bites his lip so hard he tastes blood in his mouth. He quietly gathers his most precious belongings, as well as his Pokémon, and he leaves.
And he moves. He hitchhikes, he stays at motels whenever he can, using whatever money he manages to salvage, until he runs into a bunch of Team Skull grunts.
“Hey kid,” they say to him, “ya make that? That’s pretty darn cool.” They gesture to the slingshot in his hand. He almost trips on his worn-out shoes, which had been in tatters by then.
Meet Pokemon Trainer SEO ‘ MIMI ‘ HYEMI. Born JANUARY 10, currently 18. She’s GOLDENROD CITY born and has recently been given a PANCHAM(M)and x2 LUXURY BALLS and a x2 MAX REVIVES.
‶ Having a father as president of the Goldenrod Department Store and a mother as an aide for one of Johto’s Pokémon professor had it’s perks. For starters, Hyemi was raised not only by her parents, but their Pokémon pitched it as well at times…… ″
In elementary school, whenever her parents were busy, her mother’s Chansey helped her wake up and get ready for school, while her father’s Machoke would walk her to and from. Her mother’s Spinda would play with her after school, the two tripping over their own two feet and giggling wildly afterward. The countless of times when they’d help around with Hyemi goes on and on really. But, being surrounded by Pokémon practically from birth would make anyone yearn to have one of their own. Except Hyemi.
From the start, she knew that Pokémon were more than often used for one thing: battling. It never appealed to her, however. Neither did the flashy costumes and move sets during contests. Hyemi was always a bright and smart child, usually seen reading her mothers notebooks in the playground rather than mingling with others her age. Perhaps a researcher or a professor would be her calling. Still, nothing ever really made her think, “This is my passion and I will strive to achieve it.” It wasn’t like her parents were against whatever she wanted to be, either. They knew Hyemi was meant to have a career with Pokémon by her side, but they also didn’t want to pressure her into anything she would grow to dislike. They her do her own thing. So, while witnessing those around her entered their preteen years and obtained their first Pokémon to start on their journey, Hyemi happily watched from afar, clutching a handwritten notebook that she currently had her brain wrapped around.
Another perk was that her father would travel from region to region on business trips to see which items the department store could sell that weren’t native to Johto. Naturally, Hyemi would beg to tag along. And if it was during a weekend or when school wasn’t in session, her father would allow it. It was a trip to Alola when she was fourteen that Hyemi had her first whack at a Pokémon battle. While her father stayed in Malie City, her mother was asked to accompany Johto’s and Alola’s professors for some research in Ula’ula Meadow; Hyemi chose to trail behind her mother. Even through her teenage years, there was still that curiosity that maintained in her heart. Roaming through the wild, red flowers, she eventually was far enough from the adults and finally settled down amongst the vegetation to admire the nature around her. Not even a few minutes after did she hear a rustling to her side. It was then that a small, floating Pokémon with two knobs sprouting from the top of it’s body approached her. It smiled at her and hinted at wanting to play. Now, it had been some time that she actually played with any Pokémon, but it was certainly too cute to say no too.
They played several rounds of hide-and-seek, even tag, laughter filling the air, and within due time, she had befriended Cosmog. As the two lied down for some rest, Hyemi only noticed just how much far she was away from the others, but she didn’t mind. She was having too much fun to care about anything at the time. Another rustling sound was heard, peaking Hyemi and Cosmog’s interest, expecting another friend to play with them. Instead, they were face with a passing by Sneasel, and it’s only intention was to harm the poor Nebula Pokémon. Afraid and unsure of what to do, Hyemi could only stand and watch as the awful bully tried to swipe at Cosmog. Suddenly, an idea hit her. It was a crazy one, without a doubt, but she had to do something. She immediately rushed to find her mother and the others, thankfully spotting them where she last saw them. Frantic, she asked around for a Pokéball, any Pokéball. Everyone questioned her need for one, not wanting to oblige just yet. They even told her to calm down and explain what was going on before giving her what she asked for. “There’s no time, Cosmog is in danger!” Hyemi took it upon herself to reach for and grab a Pokéball that was found idly resting in the Alolan professor’s opened duffle bag, and ran back to fight back the Sneasel. She found them still in a chase, Cosmog just barely dodging the Sneasel’s claws. Hyemi throw the Pokéball in her hands, and out came a Rowlet, facing her with a puzzled expression. They stared at each other for a moment, even tilting their heads before Hyemi snapped back into reality, turned the Rowlet around, and pointed at the Sneasel. “Okay, you….do your thing! Save Cosmog!” The following sequence of events wasn’t exactly how Hyemi played it out in her head. In fact, when the Rowlet waddled his way to the Sneasel, they exchanged a long moment of sience, eyes locked with the other, and then the Sneasel proceeded to slash once at the Rowlet, knocking it backward and on the brink of fainting. Hyemi scooped up the Grass Quill Pokémon in her arms, not wanthing him to get hurt any further. The Sneasel noticed this and headed straight for Hyemi, causing the girl to turn around and run the other. In that moment, she watched a familiar looking Arcanine leap over her and fired a warning Will-o-wisp at the bully. The Sneasel was startled and ended up running away, the Arcanine making his way towards to comfort a shaken up Hyemi.
After Hyemi returned over to her mother and the other researchers, she was asked to return the Rowlet. But, seeing how clingy the Grass/Flying type was to her, the professor couldn’t help but let her keep it. “You never know. You might just find your calling with him by your side.”
Fast forward a four years to a newly graduate from high school, Hyemi and her Rowlet formed an unbreakable bond. The two became an inseparable pair, the girl even sneaking him into school from time to time when the Pokémon didn’t want to part ways. But, now that school was over, she wasn’t quite sure what to do. One day after dinner, Hyemi was found in her room, Rowlet right beside her, watching a tournament held in Alola. She watched in awe as one of the trainers sent out their Decidueye and how powerful it was. Her head turned over to look at Rowlet, who was also admiring the last of his evolution defeat the opponent with little effort. That was when she knew what to do. “Hey….what do you say we start on our own adventure?” The Rowlet, a bit startled from his companion’s inquiry, tilted his head in confusion, evident that he was trying to rack his brain around the idea. “Yeah…let’s do it! i know it’s later than the average rookie trainer, but better late than never!” With you next to me, we can do it. Let’s go to Alola and start something brand new!” Her parents were obviously worried upon hearing Hyemi’s plan, but decided to let her go on on her own. She was an adult after all. And so, Hyemi travelled to Alola with her Rowlet in hopes of becoming the next champion in the region.
