Chris grinned down at the little girl, trying to put her at her ease. He didn’t have must experience with kids, being an only child and not having any inclination to spend time with them. Plus with peds being his brothers territory he didn’t see himself having many rotations up there than were necessary. “My imagination is fine thank you, I was being Jake Peralta but maybe I need some more practice?” He chuckled, wondering why she was wandering the corridors and if perhaps she was a patient. “Nah it’s okay I don’t mind. You were telling the truth after all. Hi Hannah, its nice to meet you I’m Chris.” He shook her hand formally, sobering up his grin.
Hannad smiled, looking to Chris. "who?" She must of not heard him right. Who was Jake Peralta? "Is he someone from a tv show? What is he exactly? A detective or a cop cause they have to be portrayed totally different." She commented with a smile on her face. "But maybe it does." She shrugged, looking to him again. "Hi Chris." She shook her hand then let it go. "What are you doing here? Do you work here?"

It had been years since she’d last seen her, and a lifetime since she’d held her, but that’s what Izzie found herself doing now as Hannah hugged her. This is what she had been missing all these years. Izzie knew that adoption was the right choice at the time, but she’d be lying to herself if she said she hadn’t wondered how her life would have been different if she had kept her baby. Now she saw the beautiful girl her daughter had become, and it took her breath away.
Izzie looked back at Hannah as she pulled away, both of them crying now. She was sure it was a strange sight, the both of them crying and having this reunion in the middle of the hospital lobby, but for now nothing else mattered. All that mattered was her beautiful daughter.
Izzie laughed, shaking her daughter’s hand. “Hi,” she said, almost in disbelief. “I’m Izzie. Your, well, not really your mother, because I didn’t raise you, but… yeah. I’m your mom.”
Hannah stared at Isobel and smiled. She just stood there smiling. After all these years of wondering and guessing who she was and what she looked like, finally, here she was, the beautiful mother she never had. She just stared at her mother for a moment, admiring all the features her mother had. She had dreamt up her mother with blonde hair, but not with the peircing blue eyes she had. Those were beautiful.
Hannah wiped her eyes on her sweatshirt before looking back at Izzie again. She knew people were staring, she could feel it. Before she would have snapped at them and told them to fuck off, but not today. Today, in this moment she was looking at her family and nothing would yin this moment.
Hannah smiled, shaking Izzie's hand. "Your the one that gave birth to me, right?" She giggled at the sound of that, birth. It was always a word she giggled at. "So, where is dad?" She had loads of questions but she wanted to ask that one now. Well, those two.

Chris had just finished practicing in the skills lab for a surgery he was to watch the next morning. Since his shift was over he should probably have already been in the bar across the street with half his colleagues since Dr. Sloan had offered to buy them all drinks. However he’d decided to take advantage of the emptier hospital and was now totally not sneaking around the peds ward hoping to bump into Clay. Darting around a corner in a semi-impression of his favourite tv detective Jake Peralta, Chris found himself bumping into someone else entirely; a small blonde girl and her stuffed pig. “Oh! Uh, sorry kid. You okay?”
Hannah was looking in the window of the Pediatric ward. It all looked so fun, the kids, she meant, not the being in the hospital part. That wasn't fun. She wanted friends her age, she wanted to be normal, but that was a long way from being possible. She sighed, putting her hand on the window, then jumped as someone bumped into her. She jumped, looking to the person who had disrupted her from her thoughts. "Yeah, I'm fine. Are you and your imagination okay? I don't know who you were impersonating but you aren't really good at it." She laughed a little. "Sorry. That was mean." She scolded herself then looked up at Chris. "I'm Hannah." She thrusted her hand out at Chris, smiling.

Hannah wandered around the hospital, with her stuffed pig and her adoption papers in her back pack. She hadn't a home to go to, she didn't have a friend. Wait, she did have one, the stuffed pig she was holding right in her hand. Other then that, she had nobody, no friends, no family except Isobel Stevens, but she didn't know exactly what they were. She sighed, skipping around the hospital until she got to the peds ward. "Other kids!" She exclaimed, looking at them through the window.
[looks around and smiles] this is home.

Izzie cocked her head slightly at the girl's statement. "You think your mom works here?" She was a little confused. Wouldn't the girl know where her own mom worked? She tried to keep her manner steady as the girl mentioned that she'd been here before. For cancer treatment. Which was the exact reason Sarah- well, she was Hannah now- had come in all those years ago. "Y-yeah. Um, yes, sure, you can have a checkup." Izzie's voice was shaking, she was sure of it, but then again the girl looked about as nervous as Izzie felt.
Grabbing some forms, Izzie took a deep breath and tried to stop her head from rushing. "Okay," she told herself. "This is probably nothing. It's probably just a coincidence. A weird, totally freaky coincidence." She had just convinced herself of this when she turned around and saw the pig in the girl's hand.
It wasn't an open adoption. Izzie had known that, and the parents had been very clear of that. But she hadn't wanted her daughter to have nothing to remember her by, so the day her daughter was born she bought her a stuffed pig. It was one of those super soft baby toys you'd find in the window of a Hallmark store, and it was adorable. That pig had crossed Izzie's mind so many times during the years after she'd given up Sarah. Did she still have it? Did her parents even LET her have it? Did she know the significance of it? Seeing the pig reassured Izzie that this wasn't a weird coincidence. This girl was her daughter.
She was snapped out of her thoughts by the girl asking if her name was Isobel Stevens. Her voice caught in her throat. Damn it, she couldn't cry now. "Yeah." She said, her voice barely more than a whisper. "Yes, it is. And I think... well, I think I'm who you're looking for."
Hanah stood stunned. After months of wondering where her mother was, she had finally found her. Looking over the blonde, she smiled. She looked like her. With the blonde hair, and the blue eyes. She didn't know how or why she had gotten give-up for adoption but she had, and now she was standing before her mother, after all this time. After 15 years, she felt like a piece of her was finally healing. A piece she was missing was finally there, and she felt okay, happy even? If she could call it that.
She didn't even known the tears had started until she felt them running down her cheeks. "H-hi m-mom." She stuttered, stunned for a moment. She didn't know some one could be so beautiful, but her mom was, or Isobel. She wan't sure if she could call her 'mom' since she wasn't technically.
Hugging wasn't a thigh thing for Hannah, she rarely did it, cause of the past she had, but she looked to Isobel, and just did. She hugged Isobel, tightly too. She didn't want to let go. She felt like it was home, she felt like this place was home. She hugged her tightly, letting the tears fall freely.
She let go then stepped back a little and looked at Isobel. "Hi. I'm Hannah, or Sarah. I have yet to figure it out yet." She thrusted out her one free hand, while holding the stuffed pig in her other.
"Everything looks great, Nina. So I guess I’ll see you in a few weeks for another consult?" The redhead nodded and, with some difficulty, stood up from the chair. "Sure, if these babies are still in me by then." Izzie grinned and helped her extremely pregnant patient to the door. This was awesome. A consult with Nina’s triplets in the morning, and an in-utero surgery to repair a diaphragmatic hernia in the afternoon. God, being double board certified was great.
Nina hadn’t been placed on bedrest yet, but she was close, so Izzie decided to wheel her to the car so her husband could drive her home. She was dropping the wheelchair off in the main lobby when she felt a tap on the shoulder and heard a girl say that she wanted to admit herself. She didn’t look like there was anything wrong at first glance. No cuts, bruises, visibly broken bones. She wasn’t pale or throwing up or losing consciousness. But still… looking at this girl made a chill run down Izzie’s spine. And the last time this had happened to Izzie, she has been looking through a window, watching as the daughter she had given up for adoption was admitted for cancer treatment.
Izzie tried to push the idea out of her mind, but she was shaken. “Okay,” she said, swallowing hard and trying to keep her voice steady. “Do you have a parent or guardian with you to sign the admission forms?”
Hannah sighed as she waited for the blonde to answer. She just wanted to find somewhere she could belong, somewhere she could fit in with, somewhere she felt loved. She shook her head as the blonde woman answered her question. "No. I don't. I'm 15. I think my mom works at the hospital though. She's a doctor here.. or was a Doctor here."
She mumbled, looking around. She could remember this place. The smell was still the same, the people were still the same. She remembered the nurses here, the scrubs. "I was here once before. Um, I had cancer." She sighed, remembering those days like it was yesterday. She frowned, then looked up at the blonde again. "I just wanted to get a check up. If that's okay?" She hoped, prayed to god that it would be okay. She needed to get admitted so she could find her mom.
She clutched the stuffed pig tighter around her chest, holding it close to her. The pig was her only memory of her mom. She had read in the adoption papers that her mother Isobel Stevens had given her the stuffed pig when she was born. She looked to the blonde woman and saw her name; then gaped. The name tag on her jacket said "Stevens." There couldn't be two Stevens could there; working in the same hospital?
"Is your name, by chance, Isobel Stevens?" She spoke, her eyes glimmering with hope
[smiles] I’m a kid. Of course I do. [grins] um, let’s just say we have a past together. I’m Hannah, who are you miss?
[nods slowly] Right. You know, it’s crazy, you look like you could be related to Izzie. I’m Dr. Riley-Bradford…Allison. [pauses] You know, you look like you haven’t eaten or slept in a while. I could get you some lunch while I try to contact Dr. Stevens.
[smiles] I'll take that as a compliment. [nods her head as her stomach growls] Sure. I'd like that.
[nods] I’ve got imaginary friends in my head. [grins at the lie] doctor Stevens was getting me medication to stop them talking to me.
[frowns] If you’re joking, that’s really not a good thing to joke about to doctors…and if you’re not, then you wouldn’t be looking for Dr. Stevens, she’s an OBGYN. What’s your name?
[smiles] I'm a kid. Of course I do. [grins] um, let's just say we have a past together. I'm Hannah, who are you miss?
[jumps as someone talks to her] um, hi. I’m looking for a doctor. Um.. [draws a blank] Oh! Isobel Stevens. Is she here? [looks to the pretty lady who spoke to her]
[nods, and then furrows her brow] Is she your doctor? She’s not in right now, but I can help you, I’m actually her boss… [pauses, tilts head] Is something wrong?
[nods] I've got imaginary friends in my head. [grins at the lie] doctor Stevens was getting me medication to stop them talking to me.
*looks around* where is she? If she is even here anyomore..
[walking out of a room, putting her stethoscope back around her neck and rubbing her hand over her belly as the baby kicks, notices her] Can I help you with something, honey?
[jumps as someone talks to her] um, hi. I'm looking for a doctor. Um.. [draws a blank] Oh! Isobel Stevens. Is she here? [looks to the pretty lady who spoke to her]
*looks around* where is she? If she is even here anyomore..

"It wil all be okay. Find the hospital that it says Isobel Stevens works at." Hannah mumbled to herself, as she walked off of the bus that brought her from Monroe, Washington to Seattle, Washington. She smiled, her stuffed pig in hand. She looked to the adoption papers in hand and smiled. "Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital." She mumbled, then walked off to find a taxi.
She had found one outside the bus station. She looked to it then grinned, getting in. "Can you take me to Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital please?" For a 15 year old, she had very good manners. The cabbie nodded at her, then started to drive. "Where are ya parents kid?" The cabbie asked the young girl. Hannah laughed. "Um, my mother and my father told me I couldn't talk to strangers, so I'm afraid I can't answer your question. Sorry." She said then was quiet as she looked out the window. The cabbie shrugged his shoulders.
A 10 minute cab ride and she was at the hospital. Smiling, the young girl got out of the cab and payed the taxi fare, grabbed her luggage and walked into the hospital. She gasped as she got inside. "Wow.." She mumbled to herself. It was so beautiful in here. It was like something she read in a story book.
Hannah walked into the main lobby and looked around. Seeing someone blonde in lab coats she walked over to her. "Excuse me miss? I'd like to admit myself." She couldn't think of anything else to say so that she could stay in the hospital and find her mom
