Our nations capitol and my 20th painting. Can you spot what is not actually there?
Shadow man, Painted in acrylics, enhanced with Photoshop. (The pale colored streaks behind his head are not an added effect but rather something that was brought out by turning down the brightness and enhancing contrast.)
Lighthouse
An imaginary place painted in acrylics.
A Pair
A mixed media piece; large pear is acrylic water color and little pair is colored pencil
Lover’s Lane
An acrylic painting painted after my first trip to New Jersey.
Blue Flowers
An acrylic painting
Acrylic painting titled: Midnight Oasis
This is an acrylic painting called Alien Sky that was inspired by an event covering the entire horizon a few years ago. I looked out the window just in time to see an unearthly brilliant green light take over the whole bottom half of the sky for a few seconds. It was longer than a flash but disappeared quickly. I searched and searched and could find nothing like it, so I painted a picture resembling it instead. The extra planets represent the alien nature of the phenomenon.
This piece got its name because a shy little boy who wouldn’t talk, saw it and to my surprise, spoke and asked me why there were other planets in the sky. I told him it was because it was an ‘alien sky’. He looked bewildered and asked me if it was alien, then how come there were trees? I told him It’s an alien planet and it’s dark out, those trees could be pink, purple, or spotted blue, that what color they are or what they are made of, is up to you. He seemed to really like the idea and opened up. So intrigued by an alien sky, I decided to simply call this Alien Sky.
A Penny For Your Thoughts
A textured, mixed media, acrylic, finger painting.
Here Be Dragons
An acrylic water painting on looking back.
Today is Rare Disease Day.
I battle a rare condition called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.
Since a picture is worth a thousand words, as the saying goes...
This is art therapy depicting how I feel everyday battling a rare disease that that has no cure, and limited insufficient treatment as well as debilitating co-morbidities.
The painting on the left is represents my body and the one on the right represents the battle inside.
This is what it takes to paint a picture; medicine, ring splints, wrist brace, and the occupational therapy foam tool for holding paintbrushes, silverware, toothbrush, and other things of that ilk. Also needed but not pictured; a full support ergonomic chair, a shoulder brace, elbow compression, sometimes a back brace and neck brace, and occupational therapy techniques.
Acrylic abstract painting with an upcycled rose
Eye of The Storm

Fishnet Rose upcycled from fishnet hose and a scrap piece of washcloth.
