Short ficlet.

Scott pushed into Derek’s personal space, got right into face, because he knew he hated it, and bared his teeth.

“You’re not the Alpha anymore Derek, you can’t tell me what to do.”  Growled Scott.  Derek stared black unflinchingly before throwing his head back with a low growl.  When he looked back down at Scott, his eyes were crystal blue, shining with fury, wolfish lines etched into his face.  Derek pushed back, physically putting his two hands on the younger werewolf, and threw him against the wall.  Scott winced as the brick wall behind him burrowed into his shoulder blades.

“I may not be an Alpha anymore,” Derek said quietly, leaning in to speak into Scott’s left ear, “But you will listen to what I say.”  Scott’s eyes shuttered closed and he shivered as he felt the command clear in his words.  Derek was right - he may not be an alpha, but he was still the older, more experienced wolf.

“Do you understand me?” Derek asked dangerously, silently daring him to try and speak up against him.  See what happens.  Scott bit his tongue because it killed him to still be beneath Derek when he was the True Alpha and Derek wasn’t even an Alpha anymore.  It killed him that he couldn’t make him his beta, killed him that he couldn’t make him do what he wanted.

Derek impatiently brought his forearm into the young wolf’s neck and slammed him back into the wall, breaking his train of thoughts.

“I asked you a question.” Derek growled, his sharp incisors dropping.

“Yes, yes. I get it, Derek.  Can you just please get off me.”
