@alphonsenw-blog
dmitripavâ:
âWould you rather be dropped off in the middle of nowhere with terrible phone reception? We blend in here, and youâre an adult, free to do whatever you please.â
âWhen you think about it, we really were dropped off in the middle of nowhere. It just so happens that the middle is one hell of an oasis. But does it truly not bother you to see so much...wealth flaunted around like this? Itâs kind of a culture shock for me, to be honest.â
kingxhenrykâ:
âIâll consider your apology a kindness, then; one I canât say Iâve seen too much of,â Henryk answered honestly, a ghost of a smile gracing his features. Heâd intended to pick this spot to read and drink tea to bask in solitude and mull over the events of the New Yearâs Eve ball silently; even though Alphonse proved to be a distraction from such a meditation, he didnât regret the princeâs company in the slightest. It wasâŚnice, really, not having to pick apart every thinly-veiled insult or hostile comment. He shrugged when Alphonse pondered over Viktorâs rather uncouth actions; who could say, really, what caused a man to descend into violence and madness? âIt could be my age; a lot of people tend to have rather biased opinions about me due to that. They havenât bothered to try and determine if Iâm as awful as they think or not.â
âYou have a rather fresh outlook on the world, your highnessâhas anyone ever complimented you on your open-mindedness?â Henryk asked, cocking his head slightly and studying the brunette before him a little more closely. âYou should consider getting involved in charity work, if youâre not already; your opinions might have the sway to lift hundreds of capable people into action. As for AdelinaâI will admit I donât know her as well as I should, perhaps. But givenârecent eventsâand our joint effort to grow to understand one another, itâsâyes. I can see her making me happy. And Iâd like to think she could grow to believe the same, as well.â
âThat is precisely what makes the whole situation baffling, because heâs got to be at least close to the same age as well. No, itâs just...â Alphonse trailed off, puzzling over the unusual circumstance. He wasnât a sleuth by any means, but he liked to think that his intution was generally accurate. The whole situation was nagging at him from the back of his mind, but he couldnât for the life of him understand why. He sighed, his frown disappearing as he leaned back in his seat. âPerhaps I may be reading into it deeper than necessary. Thereâs a first for everything.âÂ
The compliment was a pleasant surprise, one that caused the prince to laugh yet again. âNot nearly enough, Iâm afraid. But so long as the ones who matter know it, Iâm content.â Whatever doubts he might have haboured about Henryk quickly dissolved. It was apparent that he was a man was reserved by nature, but when he did speak, it was well-thought out. Perceptive even. âTruthfully, Iâm a bit of a fan of supporting non-profit groups. Iâm not sure about moving hundreds of people, but I would like to think that I leave some places better off after visiting them. It just seems like the least I can do given my, um, more fortunate circumstances.â He felt awkward with the admission. It sounded embarassing explaining it out loud. âJust donât go spreading that around. Iâve got a reputation to maintain.â
Henrykâs thoughts on Adelina brought a genuine smile to the princeâs face. âI think my sister may be more fortunate than I initially believed, and you can certainly count on my support should you ever need it. Of course, that also means Iâll be bothering you for some family bonding now and again. I hope that wonât be too much trouble?â Â
kazialudolfâ:
âYouâre preaching to the choir,â Kazia muttered, once again not exactly sure who she was speaking to. Dubai was different â she didnât like the heat. She didnât have clothes for the heat. Oslo had at least been in her weather preference, but here she felt hot and overly contained. Her black jeans didnât help â even the white tank with her shoulders exposed and her hair braided down her back. Her round sunglasses were perched on her nose, but that wasnât any good either â not even the shaded apartment bar and the iced glass of whatever alcohol she swirled her straw in.Â
âYouâd think everybody would be in a safe room back in their own countries. Away from the people theyâre at war with.â
âExactly! Even beyond that, itâs just...â How much of the worldâs wealth was concentrated in this city? With dizzingly high skyscrapers and helicopters acting as taxis for the average person, the opulence made his stomach twist with an immense discomfort that had nothing to do with the stifling heat. âIt makes you wonder about whatâs behind all of it, and how much was put into building up a city like this in the span of a few years.âÂ
His head turned ever so slightly in her direction, his somber mood lifting once he got a better look at her face. Admittedly, it had taken him a moment, given that his enounters with his wildcat of a woman had either been in the middle of a crowded coffee shop and in the shadows of a royal balcony. âI canât tell whatâs more of a shock- moving to Dubai or learning that youâve followed me all the way from Oslo.â Alphonse rested his chin against his palm, leaning on the bar with his drink left forgotten in the wake of his new company. âWhat did bring you here? I know Iâm good, but generally I donât have women crossing continents for a second go of it.â
Three people you're closest with?
âIâm going to assume you mean outside of my family, because all three of my siblings would take up those spots by default. In that case, Tatia, Luci and surprisingly as of late, Mimi. Mutual dislike for the same person really brings people together.â
@tanechkas @lucianabxlla @mimidbg
fmk astrid tatiana and kazia
âIâd fuck Kazia again in a heartbeat. Hands down. Iâd marry Tatia and kiss Astrid, who Iâm technically marrying, so that would mean two wives. Wait, these are kind of overlapping... Might be better just to go with âYes to all threeâ.â
@vstridbâ @tanechkasâ @kazialudolfâ
Are you in love with Tatiana?
âI love her, yes. Am I in love with her? Well...I donât know if I have a concrete answer for you. Sheâs probably the closest to my understanding of it in any case, and I could see the both of us growing old together, but... Iâm not sure if Iâm what she needs. â
@tanechkas
armanicatherinaâ:
ah, alexâs brother. of all his siblings, she was least acquainted with this one, but she isnât unafraid to disagree. â easier to blend seamlessly in this environment, isnât it ? as opposed to being chauffeured in a limousine around oslo ? â
âOh yes, having everyone in the city chauffered in their limosines, or armored cars as it seems to be the case here, definitely tones it down.â The corner of Alphonseâs mouth twitched upwards. âBut it certainly doesnât seem like the kind of place to conduct serious, diplomatic talks. Not with the massive indoor park and go-cart track. I just wonder what might be said at home, when the news of the move has been circulated.â
kathleenthoâ:
âoh no⌠it is a bit odd⌠but subtle isnât always the easiest thing for royalty to do.â
âYou can certainly say that again. Still, I think we probably could have worked with a place that wouldnât make it seem like we were taking an extended vacation. But how have you been settling in so far? This place is quite different.â
How do you feel about Viktor?
âViktor is practically family, but lately Iâve been getting the feeling that maybe I donât know him as well as I thought. Heâs been such a big part of my familyâs life for years, ever since he pulled Adelina out of the water, so itâs always been second nature to see him all the time. But because we all rely on him so much, I worry that weâve been unfair to him, if that makes sense. I wholeheartedly believe that Viktor deserves happiness, and a life beyond the Nassau-Weilburgs. Iâm just worried that he might be too involved in his work to look for it.â
@viktorarchibald
What is your relationship like with each of your siblings?
âAlex and I get along pretty well in short bursts, I think. Thereâs a lot I find admirable about him, but we tend to butt heads a lot. Alainaâs pretty similar in the sense that I think both of them need to take a break for a bit. I feel a bit guilty for being born ahead of her at times, because sheâs got this amazing drive and she could probably find a path to world domination if she wanted. Adelina and I have always had similar temperaments, and sheâs been able to keep up with me from day one. She also packs a mean punch when sheâs mad, like âhow dare you read my diaryâ mad. Itâs both hilarious and painful. Honestly, theyâre the best siblings a guy could ask for. I wouldnât trade them for anything in the world.â

giorxcciâ:
âAs ridiculous as it may come across, hiding in plain sight makes sense, I mean. . . . Weâre among oil tycoons and business tech moguls. They have an invisible hand in almost all of our politics anyway. Someone searching to harm us would benefit from getting at them first.âÂ
âPerhaps youâre right, but some might also see it as the prime place to start something, with a near guarantee that whoever you pick will be important. But perhaps Iâve been watching too many American films while flying here. By the way, es ist toll dich wieder zu sehen! I donât think weâve spoken since we managed to slip past those football hooligans a few years back. I donât think I would have made it out in one piece if you hadnât shown up.â
who would you say is your best friend here?
âTatiana for sure, but weâve been best friends since my attempt at the postsecondary route, so itâs really not a surprise. That being said, Iâm very happy to see that Luci is here too. Sheâs another breath of fresh air.â
@tanechkas @lucianabxlla
Would you rather have loved and lost or have never loved at all?
âLoved and lost without a doubt. The idea of going though your entire life without knowing love at least once sounds sad, if you ask me.â
âDoesnât anyone think itâs kind of, I donât know, weird to have everyone hide out in one of the most luxurious capitals in the world? Sure, itâs fun to see all of the ridiculously expensive cars and all, but it doesnât exactly scream âsubtleâ. You know what I mean?â
adelinagiselleâ:
@alphonsenw
Henryk was in meetings all day, and as loathe as Adelina was to leave his side after everything that had transpired between them after the new yearâs eve party, she wanted very badly to spend time with her friends and family and loved ones, and - well, Alphonse would always be right at the top of that particular list. For once, a quick phone call had been all that was needed to get her wayward-but-well-meaning older brotherâs attention, and now, Adelina was being carried on his back as they left the snow-filled field they had just spent the last hour and a half playing in. There were no less than a dozen snow angels left in their wake, as well as a very lopsided snow-person that Alphonse had insisted on adding breasts to the moment Adelina had very passionately insisted that they shape it into a woman, and the young princess was flushed and giggly as she clung to him piggy-back style, her legs hooked beneath his arms as he carried her back home to the hotel. As tumultuous as the current state of events might have been, she was so glad to have her older brother within reach again, and she wondered how she had ever lived without him to begin with.
âYour suite or mine, singe frère?â she asked sweetly, breathlessly, leaning down to nuzzle her face affectionately against his ear as she kept her arms tucked securely around his shoulders. âRegardless of where we end up, I think we should order enough room service to feed an entire castle! And then you need to tell me about everything youâve been doing ever since you arrived, oui? I donât want you to leave out even the tiniest detail!âÂ
Alphonse was admittedly a person who was well adapted to tropical climates, but there was something magical about European winters. What had once been a pristine sheet of snow across a vast field had become a haphazard collection of snow angels, half-built forts and a curvacious snow-woman (which, he had argued, was a celebration of snow-body diversity). There was a delight to be had in bringing such life back to such a calm place, as though he and Adelina had left their mark on the world. Gleefully toting his sister back to their temporary home, he felt as though the siblings were children again, running wild in the woods without any worry about successions or politics.
The prince let out a sigh at her question, though the wide grin and snow-covered cheeks gave away any semblance of seriousness. âI suppose that youâve been on your best behaviour, and Iâve already seen yours. Itâs only fair you visit me at least once.â He adjusted his hold carefully as he waded through a small snow bank leading up to the hotel entrance. âItâs not quite as quaint as the room I was given while helping out with the olive harvests in Greece, but I think you will enjoy it all the same. And yes, we canât forget room service. C'est la meilleure partie!â The trip back to his suite became easier as each day passed, now that he had become familiar with the layout of the hotel. Alphonse dug into his pocket and pulled out his key, along with another handful of snow that vanished as soon as it hit the carpeted floor. âOh, I should warn you. Itâs a bit of a mess.âÂ
A bit of a mess was an understatement. The suite was a whirlwind of trinkets that he had managed to accumulate during his short stay in Oslo, along with the odd blazer that was discarded at the end of each night and never returned to its proper place. But despite the immense disorder, there was a distinct sense of the space being lived in- something that Alphonse had taken pains to achieve. âDown you go.â He carefully put Adelina back onto her feet, shaking out the remnants of snow from the outside. âI am hoping that youâll also be telling me what youâve been up to? From what Iâve heard as of late, youâve been very, very popular.â
