Oh, yes. Lucas was the one to definitely enjoy festivals. He was begging since two days to join the Festival of Youth or something like that. In Mount Komorebi again. But it was held the exact same day Kazimierz and Mila were scheduled for a family meeting. With Kaz's family, to be precise. So the answer was: no.
But than again, Lucas pleaded: "But it is a science festival! Science! Ooh, Mooommy... I need to go there and practice my science skills! There will be chemical experiments prepared. And art stations! And... and... I see. Since you have new babies, you do not have time for my important things anymore. So I won't practice. And my school grades will get worse. And I will end up buried in endless misery for the rest of my life."
"Oh darling, don't talk such a nonsense! Of course you are not any bit less important than any of my kids. I love you all the same. And you are always important, Sweatie. We will find some workaround for this. I'm sure we can make it somehow" - Mila replied, caressing his cheek.
"We have to be at my parents' at noon" - Kazimierz added. He couldn't belive that Mila agreeded to little one's whim so easily.
"Great, it's not a problem than! We will go for that festival right after breakfast!" - she turned smiling cheerfully to her youngest son. "And you know what's funny? When you were asking me, you ended your sentence sounding like Gunther. Just like him when he was younger! You resemble each other so well!"
So that's how it was. They ended up spending saturday morning in Mount Komorebi's valley. Freakin' Mt, Komorebi! Kazimierz couldn't believe it. How on Earth were they supposed to get to Henford on Bagley on time? He seated in doubt, eating slowly his portion of sushi. Tasty as it was, it didn't bring him any relief in that bizarre situation.
But Lucas! That boy was in his best heaven. He performed chemical experiments, bought a local paper kobuto and immediately put that on his head. He also purchased a Simmi capsule, but the vending machine got stuck and didn't release it. Poor Lucas began to despair and didn't know what to do. Fortunately, Wolfgang came to his rescue: he hitted machine with his fist and capsule went right to the exit spot. Wolfgang looked as gloomy as always, but Lucas watched him with pure love and admiration. That was his older brother! Sometimes nasty, often quarrelsome, but deep in his heart, he was a hero.
Lucas enjoyed his time to it's fullness on monkey bars, socialising a bit with local children. He met Akiyama boy. His sister was actually Lucas' friend, but he never met Taku before. But soon, time for play was over.
To Kazimierz's deepest surprise, they arrived to Henford on Bagley without problems and nearly on time. It appears, that Mila called his mothers phone to tell her, that they will be two hours later. So his mother was well prepared and not a tiny bit angry. His parents moved to Henford recently and he had no chance to visit their new home yet. So it was his frist time in that place. They wanted to introduce him to his new baby brother.
"Congratulations, mum. He looks exactly like you."
"Thank you, my dear. I heared, you should also introduce me to some babies. So now it's your turn. Come on, let me feel like a real grandma."
Introductions, introductions... Mila looked, like she knew Kazimierz's mother for a long time. He couldn't believe it. Women. At the same time Mila was wondering, how on Earth her mother in law looked so well, like she could be younger than Mila was! How? What crazy genes that woman would posses, or what cosmetics or medical treatment did she apply? It was like a miracle. They both had one adult son and a bunch of younger kids, and still Mila looked like she was the older. Well...
Anyway, she decided to devote her attention to the little fellow she just met. It was her husband's brother. Her brother in law! And yet so tiny.
Lucas, still wearing his paper kobuto, sat on a couch to talk a bit with his stepfather's family. He spoke with enthusiasm about a science festival he just attended and experiments he performed. Kaz's sister seemed to be surprised about his knowledge, but she barely spoke anything. Maybe she was just shy. He didn't care. He was so cheerful he could talk anyone to that person's death. And he would cheer them all up.
"Look father. This is your granddaughter, Sophia" Kazimierz introduced.
"Oh, boy. She looks just like you! A spitting image of dad! I'm so proud of you. Though it's hard to believe I'm already a grandpa. I just had a baby myself! And yet, now you have yours. Well done, son. Well done."
So everything worked fine. Kazimierz returned home with a better mood. Everything went fine with his parents and that day wasn't a catastrophe. The youngest babies stayed at a daycare, so now Erika really enjoyed returning to her toys.
Kazimierz, praised by his father, felt really lightened up. He went teaching Sophia some new tastes with whole new energy. Without getting discouraged by a mess she was doing.
And another father, Gunther, also cherished his little one. It was a really lovely family day.
