The Kronenwald Lodge (Tray Download, NO CC)
Kronenwald Lodge is a restored early-16th-century country estate in Windslar, Windenburg, once built as a royal hunting retreat and now reimagined as a warm, comfortable lakeside home. Set beside Lake Hirschweiher, the property offers two principal bedrooms, a service bedroom, three baths, generous living and dining spaces, a wine cellar, sauna outhouse, tennis court, fishing spots, and a private terrace and dock, blending heritage charm with quiet country living.
Kronenwald Lodge traces its origins to early 16th century Windeburg, when it was commissioned as a royal hunting retreat for the Windenburg crown in 1512, during a rare era of peace with neighboring realms. Set quietly in Windslar beside its private lake, the lodge served for centuries as a seasonal country residence, valued for its seclusion, woodland setting, and intimate domestic character. Long held under the custody of the Windenburg royal household, Kronenwald remained one of the region’s most quietly treasured historic estates until its release to the public market in 2025.
Acquired by Lesmana Enterprise, the property underwent a careful restoration guided by preservation rather than reinvention. Original architectural details, historic proportions, and the warm character of the old lodge were retained wherever possible, while modern comforts were discreetly introduced to support contemporary country living.
Today, Kronenwald Lodge stands as a restored lakeside estate where heritage, craftsmanship, and comfort continue in harmony.
Outdoors, Kronenwald Lodge has been shaped as carefully as the house itself, with Lesmana Enterprise restoring the estate grounds to feel both storied and quietly livable. Original features such as the lakeside setting, fishing waters, and the old dockside character were preserved as part of the property’s historic identity, while new additions were introduced with restraint: a secluded sauna outhouse by the water, a refined tennis court set within the greenery, and revived garden approaches that lend the grounds a sense of order without sacrificing their woodland calm.
Together, these outdoor spaces allow Kronenwald to remain what it was always meant to be, a place of retreat—now renewed for future residents who may enjoy morning walks by the lake, quiet hours on the dock, or long summer afternoons spent between sport, water, and the shelter of the trees.
Inside, Kronenwald Lodge has been restored to preserve the intimacy and warmth of a true country house, where historic character remains present in every principal room.
The estate offers two bedrooms, one service bedroom, three bathrooms, a formal dining room, a generous living room, a quiet reading room, and a wine cellar, all arranged with comfort and continuity in mind. Particular care was given to the kitchen, whose original form and hearth-led character were retained as a rare surviving feature of the lodge’s early fabric.
Throughout the interiors, salvaged antique artworks, portraits, tapestries, and decorative pieces preserved since the lodge’s completion lend the house a sense of lineage and quiet permanence, allowing modern residents to live among the atmosphere of centuries without surrendering ease, warmth, or daily livability.
