The things Allison did this season were hard to watch, that scene in episode 5 was especially hard and tbh felt out of character to me.

Everything else I liked, im glad the show took the risk of showing how experiencing the 1960s as a black woman and losing her daughter forever has destroyed her.

It’s hard to see such storylines done with female character and even harder with poc women. Because there’s always the need to make them “likable” and “digestible” for white & male audiences.

I feel like you can’t possibly stan anti Heroes & villains and turn around to call Allison “unredeemable” just because we aren’t used to seeing black female characters be the tragic anti hero/villain for once.

You don’t have to like her or excuse her actions, just don’t be a hypocrite about it and understand what caused her to do these things.

The Umbrella Academy season 3 has to be one of the best pieces of television I’ve ever seen.

I’m absolutely in love with how complex characters like Allison, Reggie and five are and how the show doesn’t cower from exploring their complexities.
