The Dark End (1)

A black blur blew over Monica’s face as she woke up from her nap. Everything was spinning around her as her eyes were in a haze. She slapped her cheeks lightly to try to regain clear vision, Monica looked around the unfamiliar room. It was brighter than usual, with pastel blue walls with a clean wooden floor, plushies organized in the corner of the room, and all the clothes hung up in a wooden closet sorted by color.
She stood up and wandered throughout the room, finding a couple of papers with childish drawings. Those drawings were hers from when she was younger, though how come she doesn’t remember this room? Questions filled Monica’s mind. She reached for the handle as someone swung the door open, knocking the little girl over.
“Oh no, I’m sorry I didn’t realize you were awake!” A woman’s voice said apologetically.
