A short ShuAke drabble of fluff and forehead kisses! AO3
Akira's eyes couldn't tear away from the perplexed expression on his boyfriend's face as he was engaged in some case files. It was just a few minutes until closing and Goro was still sitting at their favorite booth. He could see the coffee he brought him early only halfway finished and likely cold by now, proving how immersed the detective was. Whatever he was working on really seemed to be stressful.
At this point in time the amount of customers have dwindled and Sojiro wouldn't mind if he stepped away from the counter. However, before he did so, Akira pulled out a new cup and filled it with fresh warm coffee. Hopefully, it would help his boyfriend relieve some of that stress.
He wasn't sure if he should say anything or stay quiet and not disturb him. Goro often preferred to work alone on his cases, but lately hasn't completely been rejecting Akira's offer to help. However, whatever this case was, it really had him looking pressured. Which likely meant it was something even the police couldn't figure out.
Approaching the booth, he set the new coffee on the table and moved the colder one aside. He found himself staring at the detective again; the latter barely even registering his presence. Seeing Goro like this was both worrying and yet somehow attractive. Akira liked his expressions when he was into his work, but grew concerned when it goes too far. Perhaps he needed to distract the detective for awhile and get his mind off the case.
And he knew exactly what to do.
āGoro,ā he called out, leaning closer to his boyfriend.
No reaction.
āGoro. ā A little louder this time.
And it was loud enough for the teen broke out of whatever spell he was under and looked up, meeting Akira's gaze. However, before he could say anything, a pair a lips was pressed against his forehead and shocked him into silence.
When Akira pulled away, lips curling into a smirk, he could see his boyfriend's beautiful flustered expression while red colored his cheeks.

The most important writing lesson I ever learned was not in a screenwriting class, but a fiction class.
This was senior year of college.Ā Most of us had already been accepted into grad school of some sort. We felt powerful, we felt talented, and most of all, we felt artistic.
It was the advanced fiction workshop, and we did an entire round of workshops with everyoneās best stories, their most advanced work, their most polished pieces. It was very technical and, most of all, very artistic.
IE: They were boring pieces of pretentious crap.
Now the teacher was either a genius OR was tired of our shit, and decided to give us a challenge.Ā Flash fiction, he said. Write something as quickly as possible.Ā Make it stupid.Ā Make it not mean a thing, just be a quick little blast of words.Ā
And, of course, we all got stupid.Ā Little one and two pages of prose without the barriers that it must be good. Little flashes of characters, little bits of scenarios.
And they were electric.Ā All of them. So interesting, so vivid, not held back by the need to write important things or artistic things.Ā
One sticks in my mind even today.Ā The guys original piece was a thinky, thoughtful piece relating the breaking up of threesomes to volcanoes and uncontrolled eruptions that was just annoying to read. But his flash fiction was this three page bit about a homeless man who stole a truck full of coca cola and had to bribe people to drink the soda so he could return the cans to recycling so he could afford one night with the prostitute he loved.
It was funny, it was heartfelt, and it was so, so, so well written.
And just that one little bit of advice, the write something short and stupid, changed a ton of peopleās writing styles for the better.
It was amazing. So go.Ā Go write something small.Ā Go write something thatās not artistic.Ā Go write something stupid. Go have fun.
Thank you so much for your patience! There's been heck of a lot of delays due to work and family related incidents. I'll send you any wips this week, and have the product finished between this weekend and the next!
I have a lot of pet peeves but I think the biggest one is when people say things likeĀ āoh itās such a small town, only 35,000 peopleā like bitch my town has 200 people, you need to pick a new adjectiveĀ
According to Wikipedia, a small town is 1,000-20,000 people. So although you are correct in stating that 35,000 people is not a small town (it is a large town), you are incorrect in thinking that you live in a town. You live in a village. You are a villager.
Here are the hierarchical classifications from Wikipedia
Ecumenopolis - a theoretical construction in which the entire area of Earth that is taken up by human settlements, or at least, that those are linked so that to create urban areas so big that they can shape an urban continuum through thousands of kilometers which cannot be considered as a megalopolis. As of the year 2009, the United Nations estimated that for the first time more than 50% of the worldās populations lived in cities, so if these were linked, the total population of this area would be about 3,400,000,000 people as of 2010.
Megalopolis - a group of conurbations, consisting of more than ten million people each.
Conurbation - a group of large cities and their suburbs, consisting of three to ten million people.
Metropolis ā a large city and its suburbs consisting of multiple cities and towns. The population is usually one to three million.
Large city ā a city with a large population and many services. The population is <1 million people but over 300,000 people.
City ā a city would have abundant services, but not as many as a large city. The population of a city is between 100,000 and 300,000 people.[citation needed]
Large town ā a large town has a population of 20,000 to 100,000.
Town ā a town has a population of 1,000 to 20,000.
Village ā a village is a human settlement or community that is larger than a hamlet but smaller than a town. A village generally does not have many services, most likely a church or only a small shop or post office. The population of a village varies; the average population can range from hundreds to thousands.
Hamlet ā a hamlet has a tiny population (<100) and very few (if any) services, with only a few buildings.
Isolated dwelling ā an isolated dwelling would only have 1 or 2 buildings or families. It would have negligible services, if any.
Iā¦.I guess I live in a conurbation. Chicagoland has a population of roughly nine and a half million, so a bunch of our suburbs must be full on cities.Ā
I am conurban. A conurbanite. This is my conurb. Conurbs in Horto. My condo in the conurb.Ā

Pair:Ā AkaKuro
Series:Ā Kuroko no Basuke
Summary:Ā Akashi and Kuroko stay behind after practice. Teikou Days.
Kuroko blinked, feeling rather uncertain.
Practice had just ended and his captain had suddenly sat next to him on the bench, then simply laid down using his lap as a pillow. This wasnāt like Akashi at all. Though the boy could do some really unexpected sometimes; this was different from the rest.
A bit of pink colored his cheeks as his light blue orbs observed the other resting peacefully, eyes closed and chest in steady rise and fall rhythm. He couldnāt take his gaze off of him. Akashi always managed to do that. During practice there would be times where Kuroko would catch himself staring at him and would turn away before his captain could notice.
Akashi was fairly popular among the student body, both the female and male half. Itās actually not all that surprising. Despite the boyās rather harsh and sadistic personality, he had that air of a leader that everyone respected. It was the reason why every member of the team so passionately followed him. Well, that and the fact that he gets really scary when mad.
The sunlight chose that moment to peek through the windows and light up the school gym. Kuroko found himself entranced with shine of the soft red locks and reached up to touch them, gently brushing aside the long bangs. āAkashi-kun is very handsome too.ā
Suddenly, a hand gripped his wrist and blue eyes opened wide in surprise. They soon met with bright ruby orbs.
āI had no idea you thought of me that way, Tetsuya.ā An amused expression appeared on captainās face.
āAh, Akashi-kun, you were awake? Wait did I say that out loud?ā
Akashi chuckled softly and placed a light kiss on the back the hand which he held captive, the resident shadow blushing at notion. āWasnāt you who thought that on your own?ā
āAkashi-kun, youāve been acting strange lately.ā
Now moving to sit up, the red haired boy glanced back at Kuroko with a smile that sent a shiver down his spine. āIs that something that someone who stares everyday should say?ā
āHe noticed⦠But of course he did. Itās Akashi-kun after all.āĀ Raising his arm to hide his blush, Kuroko directed his gaze away from his captain. He could only hope that he wonāt be hated. āSorry.ā
He missed the frown upon Akashiās face which melted into something softer as a sigh was heard. āTetsuya.ā
Hearing his name, he lowered his arm and turned, when suddenly he felt something soft pressed again his forehead. Kuroko instantly recognized it as lips. Akashi had just kissed his forehead. Now he knew for sure that his face was red.
The captain just smiled, placing a hand on the shadowās cheek. āSilly Tetsuya. Your eyes should only be on me.ā
āAkashi-kun.ā
āPromise me.ā
Kuroko was silent was a few moments, quietly matching the red headās captivating gaze before nodding. āPromise.ā
A flash of what looked like relief passed over Akashiās face. The captain then stood, briskly gathering his things and took a few steps toward the door only to stop in place. He turned and faced the shorter male, hand held out to him.
You coming with me, Tetsuya?
Understanding the silent message, a small rare smile appeared on Kurokoās face. He followed suit, gathering up his belongings, then swiftly ran over and joined his hand with Akashiās. Their fingers intertwined.
AkaKuro Day 7 (April 17) -
Alternate Universe (FREE DAY)
Honestly couldnāt decide what to write so just kinda started randomly writing. So have this random soulmate au thing??
Now it was one thing to know your soulmate, but it's another thing to haunted by them.
Akashi always thought that it was a silly myth that people who soulmates die before they get to meet will appear by their soulmates side as a ghost. But he now realizes that it was indeed not a myth, but in fact, the truth.
"How was work today, Akashi-san?ā
Red eyes flickered in the direction of the voice. His gaze rested on the apparition that was poking their head from out another room, greeting him at his penthouse entrance.
It's been two months now since the young man's appearance and he still couldn't quite wrap his head around his existence. Most of that time was spent even acknowledging this whole thing.
At this point he knew only a handful of things about his supposed soulmate:
His given name is Tetsuya.
He is a few centimeters shorter than himself.
He is fond of basketball.
He is very polite.
The last thing he remembered was getting shot.
One other thing he knew was that he was becoming used to Tetsuyaās presence. This mysterious young man was surprisingly good company. To the point that he was enjoying having him around. Unfortunately, whoever he was, had no memory from before becoming a ghost. In other words, an amnesiac.
āExhausting as always,ā Akashi replied, irritation flickering in his eyes at the thought. āMy now fired secretary lost my files for today's meetings and nearly cost me investors.ā
Tetsuya approached the other man with a soft smile. āBut you got them, didn't you?ā
āOf course,ā a smirk crossing his lips as he spoke, āand how was your day?ā
āNigou has been wonderful company.ā
Ah yes. The other week they had come across an adorable puppy that had the ability to see the ghost, in which case they immediately took him in. Well, to be more accurate, Tetsuya gave Akashi that look that he has become weak too, and he gave in.
It didn't take long for the said dog to come bounding into the open space and jumping right up into Akashi's arms, causing the man to drop his suitcase. He frantically attempted to regain his balance from the sudden weight. From his right he could hear Tetsuya's soft laughter. A sound he has become to cherish.
Before he knew it, his free hand was already reaching toward the other with a sudden urge to touch him, only to right through.
He quickly pulled his hand back, biting back his nervousness. āForgive me, Tetsuya, I know that makes you uncomfortable.ā
Shaking his head, Tetsuya floats closer, placing both his hands on the Akashiās cheeks. āIt's ok when it's you.ā
They had an established routine. Akashi would come home to Tetsuya who would be watching TV with Nigou, and while he made his dinner, the ghost would regale him the news or what's the latest on his favorite shows. Then they'd lay in Akashi's king size bed where they'd talk for hours. The next morning Tetsuya would do his best to wake him up and get him moving. They'd talk some more and Akashi would ask if he remembered anything in which the usual reply was no. Then the topic would shift to basketball where he would get to see Tetsuya all lit up and practically glow. This strange routine has become something both of them had treasured.
There were days where Tetsuya would tease his taste in ties or chide him when he neglected his health. Many times he found himself opening up to the ghost, venting about his troubles and talking about the complications within his family. Surprisingly, Tetsuya had some rather sound advice and became someone he could rely on. Someone he was starting to love.
He just wished he could touch him. Hold him.
Then a something amazing happened.
Akashi woke up to Nigou whining, no Tetsuya in sight. It was strange. He couldn't have gone far. The ghost couldn't go more than a couple miles away with from him after all.
He slipped out of bed and into the living room where he heard the TV playing. Akashi sighed, moving to pick up the remote as worry started to set in, but froze when the latest news came on.
