Reminder to not give up, you are bringing about change.
List of positives to come out of the recent protests as of June 4:
- George Floyd’s murderer charged with murder and manslaughter, then had charges increased, then the officers that watched it happen were charged with aiding and abetting
- Louisville police (Breonna Taylor’s murderers) department will now be under review from an outside agency, which will include review on training, bias-free policing and accountability. (Unfortunately her killers have still not faced charges yet as far as I could find.)
- Charges are to be dropped for Kenneth Walker
- Atlanta has announced plans to create a task force + public database to track police brutality in metro Atlanta area
- Minneapolis city council members are considering disbanding police force in favor of a “community-oriented, nonviolent public safety and outreach capacity”
- Colorado lawmakers have introduced an incredible police reform bill that includes body cam laws, repealing the “fleeing felon” statute, banning chokeholds, and more
Feel free to add more if you know of more!
- LA Mayor announces plans to reduce funding to police department by about $150M and instead invest that in minority communities for jobs and education

BOYCOTT LUSH UK!
DO NOT BOYCOTT LUSH NORTH AMERICA!
Lush UK and Lush North America are different!
Lush UK is owned by Mark Constantine, the guy supporting cops.
Lush North America is owned by Mark Wolverton and Karen Delaney-Wolverton and they support Black Lives Matter. This is their Twitter which is full of BLM content and info about allyship, etc. right now.
This is their homepage:
They sent out this letter to their employees and posted it online:

No im not doing it i dont care
Can anyone explain why this sucks so much. Like I thought I would love it because I don’t like social interaction and like being able to work in a way that actually helps me (ex: being able to listen to music) but it’s the worst thing so far and I’m not getting anything done.
@actslikeacat Most people with ADHD thrive on structure and compartmentalization, and with distance learning, that isn’t a thing. We’re in the same place for every class AND extracurricular, and there’s no physical transition to help our brains shift from one thing to the next. Basically, we’ve lost our anchor points and we can’t slow ourselves down or steer our brains in the directions we want them to go. Distance learning has introduced a legitimate accessibility barrier for a SIGNIFICANT portion of the population.
It's not just structure - it's EXTERNALLY IMPOSED structure. Trying to give ourselves structure is like trying to bail out the Titanic with a bucket. All the advice for studying/working from home right now is like 'make sure you give yourself a schedule and stick to it', and for a lot of us that is just not something we can *do*.
All the adderall in the world won't help us stick to an internally motivated structure.
okay can I also add? I’ve never been able to do any kind of extensive school work when it’s been on the internet.
ADHD brains need a delicate balance of positive and negative stimulus. You know what has never failed to supply me with the perfect amount if stimulus? The internet.
When I’m in a classroom, I’m in Class Mode. Sure I probably have my phone on me, but I’m far less likely to be tempted by it. I tend to genuinely want to listen to what the professor has to say (ooh! New Information!), and I can stim or doodle if I need to meet my minimum stimulus requirements.
So. All of that is gone. There’s not anything that can really replicate a classroom environment when it’s online at home. The fall semester has been announced to be all online and I’m genuinely considering just taking it off, because realistically I don’t know that I can do it.
