Dallas County Republican Chair Missy Shorey thinks she’s pretty slick, trying to throw 128 Democratic primary candidates off the ballot with her sleazy lawsuit.
It’s time for Americans who value their right to vote for the candidate of their choice to tell Republicans who are trying to take their vote away, that they can just try to COME AND TAKE IT!

The original flag of the post-Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia, 1992-1995, was based on the inscription on the tomb of King Phillip II, father of Alexander the Great. It was beautiful and unique. Unfortunately, the Greek government objected to Macedonia using a Macedonian symbol.
The current Macedonian flag ain’t bad. It’s quite dramatic, evocative as it is of the infamous Imperial Japanese war flag (may that never fly again!), but it does seem a shame that Macedonia is deprived of its connection to a history it can be proud of.
Hey, Maine, while you’re leading the country into the future in how you run your elections,

why don’t you also spruce up your image by restoring your excellent historical state flag? That dreary state-seal-on-a-blue-background deal (like twenty other states in the Union) is no look for such an unique and distinctive state.
Compared to the endless variations people have created based on the California state flag, the Oregon state flag has for the most part been ignored. We’ve come across these examples — …

Now that’s what I call desecration of the American flag . . . .
It's good to see proper flag etiquette being observed even in the Bohemian environment of a Connecticut coffee house.

P.C. Brown really went to town designing some swell fifty-star flags to celebrate Alaska/Hawaii statehood.

Recently, Donald Trump displayed another example of his advancing dementia by praising the health care system in the African nation of “Nambia”.

The guy is losing it a lot faster than Ronald Reagan, who at least came back from Central America noticing that “They’re all individual countries down there.”
Pictured above: the flags of the Gambia, Namibia, Zambia and my own flag for “Nambia”.

Often in the fall months, the sky over the Willamette Valley looks this: a featureless cover of slate grey, so thick and so even that the Sun is a white disk that you can safely look at it with the naked eye.
I have often imagined a flag like this to represent those days,. although on those days, you would hardly need one: the sky is the greyscale banner overhead.
The other day, the smoke from forest fires in the Coast Range created quite a different sort of sky over the Valley:
It did, though, have a similar uniformity which made it look like an abstract peculiar flag design.

Gadsden Flag parodies are the best thing ever.
I want to commission the 3rd and 9th

Best Gadsden patches ever made:
i hate this because the Mayan serpent should be something closer to “mach tek’een”
These are wonderful. I especially like “Don’t Ptread on Me”.
It’s a damned shame that the Teabaggers associated it so thoroughly with themselves and their deplorable agenda.
