Do you have any specific inspirations for your art and projects? Media, aesthetics, anything!

Well I'm definitely inspired a lot by my friends and their creativity as of late; seeing others be creative really makes me want to do the same!

A lot of the time I get inspiration from music, usually songs that have some sort of specific story elements to them (I love overanalyzing lyrics and stretching them to fit my OC lore). One time I came up with almost an entire story plot just by listening to an album (thank you Hawaii part II by Miracle Musical). Music is a constant source of inspiration and as long as I find new songs to listen to I'll keep getting ideas!

There are definitely a couple pieces of media that have greatly influenced the style I write and create in, I love Gravity Falls, Infinity Train, Over the Garden Wall, but funnily enough my main inspiration to begin creating in the first place was Super Paper Mario! It's still my favorite game and despite the flaws in its gameplay I thought the story and writing were absolutely wonderful. I've been told my writing mirrors that writing style in a way and I am GREATLY pleased about that.

Some oddly specific authors that I really admire their specific writing styles are Adrienne Kress and Jeff Strand!

As for aesthetics would you believe it if I said... outer space, coastal towns, stained glass windows, and cyberpunk?? Yeah, there are very few aesthetics or genres I wouldn't take inspiration from. I literally have a fictional pocket dimension inspired by the backrooms just so I can shove as many aesthetics in as possible—

Could you give a general summary or explanation of Dechaverse? All your OCs seem SO COOL and I want to learn more about them!!! :)

The Dechaverse is a fictional universe I made up that a good number of my stories take place in! They're all interconnected and woven together, even if at first it doesn't quite seem like it (I have a couple other stories that aren't connected to the Dechaverse, though they're lower priority and I'll usually clarify when something is in a different universe from this one)!

The Dechaverse is very similar to our own universe, but the biggest exception is the fact that magic and mythical creatures actually exist. They used to be very prevalent on the earth, but when an evil organization run by the main antagonist Evelyn starts ruling from the shadows with an iron fist, they're quickly turned into a myth. The story of the Dechaverse follows multiple protagonists that— directly or indirectly— fight against the Organization. The Organization is the main connecting thread, as they're the source of most of the bad things going on. However, that's also where the main character comes in.

Imagine being cool enough to be the main character of an entire UNIVERSE. Well, that's our protagonist, Zen. He grew up in the Organization (which is basically a cult) and was raised by Evelyn. She was a mother to him, and he was her son. So for the longest time he thought what he was doing working for her was the right thing, because it was all he knew. But in the end, she was just using him as a pawn to get what she wanted out of him, and he finds out she plans to have him killed when he stops being useful to her... (I could go on, but uh... that would be a big chunk of text LOL).

So yeah! In conclusion, the Dechaverse is a big, interconnected story told from multiple perspectives that all end up building on each other and at other times colliding! I'm planning on turning it into a book series, and it will consist of a whopping ELEVEN books. So, uh... I'd better get to work— 🏃‍♀️💨

How could I forget that vital piece of information‼ Zen procrastinates getting offed for years but then he messes up big time (aka does a good thing) and gets mega bopped by his mom. Bam. Deceased. Plot twist: 1,109 years later he wakes up in the year 3156 as a robot! Big win for the robot fans! 😁🤖

l'm bad at remembering when I actually create ocs so today is the day I've designated as Jackie's birthday. She's one of my oldest ocs and arguably the most special one. The amount of changes and development she's gone through is insane, and having her as an outlet to think about and draw when I need a distraction makes her very sentimental to me. I can't wait for the day I can tell more of her story and show her off more. To any Jackie fans, you're the real ones 🤝

Here they are; the main cast of the Dechaverse's The Legend of the Diadem trilogy! I had a blast drawing this, I should work with funky canvas sizes more I think. From left to right the characters are: Caravan, Zen, Zandora, Esther, Stella, Curio, Attican, Tim, Maxine, and Chloe!

Zen was a gamer from the second he learned what a video game was. He really likes Minecraft for the mix of both adventure and creative value, but it's not his favorite. He also super loves rhythm games considering he's scarily good at them (specifically Rhythm Heaven games, he loves those). And he appreciates the first three Paper Mario games greatly. He has a wide range of gaming interests, but only one can top them all.

PIKMIN. He would totally vibe with it and it's the perfect balance of cute and chill combined with resource/time management, and he loves the silly plant people. 🌱
