Chattanooga, TN very own YgTut is another Southern artist on the rise that is keeping Andre 3000 infamous 1995 Source Awards quote alive. With the release of "Preacher's Son" from the, "Intro" you know you are going to be given more than the cliche money, cars and hoes rap songs. Which is a stigma that the South has had to deal with throughout the Souths involvement in hip-hop. Overshadowing artists such as Scarface, Andre 3000, to most recently Big K.R.I.T. And I'm here to say once again, "The South got something to say!" YgTut went a very different route than the traditional Trap filled beat selection. He filled "Preacher's Son" with a little trap, but throughout the project, it was a great mixture of soul, jazz and blues. With a project named "Preacher's Son" it is pretty self explanatory how the title came about. YgTut is coming from a very different perspective of rapping sounded more like spoken word. But his message is from real experience of growing up the son of a preacher, but growing up in a poverty stricken area of Chattanooga, TN. All while explaining that there is more to life than your current situation with songs like "Corner Stories 2" and "Bad Guys" you will really understand YgTut.Â

Vince Staples x Prima Donna Album Review
Prima Donna a 7 track, 21 minute EP project from Vince Staples that was released on August 26, 2016. Many may wonder why Vince has an enlarged head on the projectâs cover. As stated in a Breakfast Club interview he said the reasoning behind the big head was coming from the feeling of doing something that doesn't benefit yourself.
Let It Shine
a tape recording with Vince singing a piece âThis Little Light of Mineâ a few times before shooting himself.
War Ready
Quickly, going from the sound of the gun shot to the next track âWar Readyâ which contains a sample from one of my favorite Outkast album & song âATLiensâ. Where Vince is talking about how he is war ready based on being a black man in Amerikkka. Lyrics such as:Â âturned an african into a niggaâ, âlife give you lemons, and a nigga hang from a treeâ. In return Vince sees that the white man sees a âblack man better off dead, so Iâm war ready! His weapon of choice is his voice.
Smile
Life is hard, days are long. Mr. Staples just wants to be happy, along with seeing others happy. The song has a fitting unenthusiastic sound since he is depressed with this life he lives. Stating the yellow brick road (fame) is just bricks that have been pissed on, and he has pissed on them as well. Vince also informs people that âmoney comes and goesâ therefore do not use monetary gain as a measurement of happiness. The song ends with another one of Vinceâs self recordings, where he talks about giving up on love and life itself. âdont say you feel my pain, when I don't even feel myselfâ, âsometimes I feel like giving upâŠâ. All of which fit perfectly for the  title of âSmileâ.
Loco ft. Kilo Kush
a progressive building beat that Vince rips! A song about going crazy within this music industry from feeling like people stealing his style, along dealing with crazy and suicidal thoughts. This song is similar to âLocaâ which was on his Summertime â06 project, but if one took Spanish a is feminine and oâs are masculine therefore he is referring to his craziness on this projects track:
âat the Marriot where a nigga went crazy, having Curt Cobain dreamsâ. âstarting at the mirror with a 4-4â âI need a hit song to show the world a young nigga tweakingâ
Then the song ends with another self recording stating âwe will all waste awayâ with a woman screaming in distress for help in the background of this recording.Â
âyouâs a star they say, you mean so much to meâŠâ
Prima Dona ft. A$AP Rocky
Last songâs end recording flows into the next song perfectly - âIs it real?â. A$AP Rocky sings the hook of this song. Vince still following the concept of this album, he speaks on the industry and how it makes him feel. The industry wants him to move like a pop star when he is a rapper thus aiding to his thoughts that music make a nigga go crazy. Ending this song with a recording which seems to have the news playing in the background. Stating he is fed up with the gun violence, fed up with the young dying, and fed up with the gang banging. Therefore, he just wants to set a better example and show you better.
Pimp Hand
Talks about how life was growing up living in Northside Long Beach - robbing, and gang banging (crippinâ). Crippinâ isn't the same anymore, so its time to show them bitches who the man is.
Big Time
Ending the album with a banger, which is another beat that builds progressively but Vince flows perfectly over it. Went from robbing to rapping, back in the day they would never listen to him but now he is big time. Around the 2:20 minute mark if one is listening through headphones like I was when I was writing up this review. The echo effect when he says âbig timeâ it makes one feel as though their head is spinning and they are going crazy.
Overall, I enjoyed this album it has some really good lyrical content one would have to really sit down and listen to the lyrics because Vince is really flowing over these beats. Lyrical content that many may not bother to touch on from the pressures of fame, making music, people changing, giving up, to having suicidal thoughts to the point he almost went through with that act. This album shows growth and the fact he is comfortable enough to share an in depth look on his life with the world.
Here is a short film that was made for the album:

'Maybe' by Danle Rochester
Maybe my son will live in a world one day where he won't have to be judged because of his race. Where he doesn't have to watch tv and see men and women with his father's face, killed in cold blood by the ones that are suppose to be protecting them. Maybe he won't see them depicted as criminals everyday in the media or disrespected then. Maybe he will be able to fill out an application without having to designate his ethnicity. Maybe there might be a black, Asian, or Indian super man. Maybe just maybe his peers and neighbors of other races will actually stand with him and acknowledge that something horrible has happened through history and continues to happen. Maybe he isn't the black friend that compensates or makes them feel they are not racist because they have him. Maybe his own won't hate him because of his complexion. Maybe my son will live in a better world. Just Maybe... -Danle Rochester
Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight - Album Review
Travi$ Scottâs Birdâs in the Trap Sing McKnight Album Review
Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight was released on September 2, 2016 by Travi$ Scott who happens to be Kanyeâs protĂ©gĂ© under the G.O.O.D Music label. One could probably tell with the similar sounding beats, along with a close listen -the two resemble each other when it comes to some vocal ranges. Travi$â latest project âBirds in the Trap Sing McKnightâ consist of 14 tracks with many features (they aren't listed via the album) but if you pay close attention to this album review and while listening in on the album, one will be sure to hear them.
the ends ft. Andre 3000 |Â setting the album off just right, with Travi$â eerie mischievous night-time lurking sound. 3 stacksâ verse itself truly surprised me, since he is one of my favorite lyricist, and based off the fact that he was not listed as a feature.
*Andre 3000âs whole entire verse was notable to me because, he was actually talking about a real serial killer incident that occurred in Atlanta from 1979-1981 involving Wayne Williams.
way back | ft. kid Cudi & Swizz Beatz | a song that features  a sample from Jay-Zâs âRoc Boysâ âWE IN THE HOUSE!â
along with some ad-libs from Swizz Beats giving you that head bopping, shoulder bouncing, feel good type vibe to it.
âI need fake niggas to get way back, James Harden with the range homie, way back!â
then the beat changes slows down giving you that rewound / chopped and screwed type sound. âlook boy, don't you sit too close to that tvâŠâ
coordinate ft. Black Youngsta  | the flow of this song ( which in the first verse) strikingly reminds me of Futureâs âMarch Madnessâ. Coordinate has a trap beat that sounds well with a nice sound system.
âspend that money fast if I have toâ
through the late night ft. Kid Cudi | A song I feel as though should be played before one heads to a party more like a pregame type of song. Giving reassurance that you are about to be out all night and sleep the following day, wash, and repeat. Travi$ pays respect to his former G.o.o.d Music label-mate Kid Cudi, by quoting his lyrics from âDay Nâ Niteâ. One of my personal favorites off of the album.
*side note: I wonder how Travi$ feels with this current Cudi & Kanye beef. He must feel like a child choosing which parents house to stay at for the weekend after a divorce.
beibs in the trap | a song I feel like is currently playing at the party that one was on the way to in the last song. its like you are at the party witnessing everyone having âfunâ. White girls sniffing cocaine, people putting jolly ranchers in their dirty sprite, along with weed smoke in the air.
sdp interlude ft. Cassie | simply just that, an interlude to vibe out to. whether you are a sober listener or you rather smoke some, drink some, or pop some. the choice is yours. along with ad libs towards the end where Travi$ is talking to someone, in a teasing manner.
outside ft. 21 savage | A song were Travi$ & his homies are outside the club and aren't going to go in because they rather hang out around the club. Something they seem to enjoy while they can sit on their expensive cars, smoke weed, âpoâ upâ, congregate, and spit game to all the ladies. All without having to follow rules but If anything goes down, Travisâ squad is willing to ride for him.
âall my niggas outside, aint going inâŠâ
goosebumps ft. Kendrick Lamar | this songs starts off with Travi$â hypnotic dark circus sounds. This is an eerie type love song. During his 2016 Made in America set he said, he wrote this song in his bedroom during one of the darkest times in his life. Glad he showed positive energy during that performance. Both Travis and Kendrick speak on their respective female and the feelings they get when they think about her or when she comes around.
has Kendrick been taking vocal lessons? âI put that pussy on a pedal stool, I put that pussy on a high horse!â
first take ft. Bryson Tiller | another semi dark, emotional, relationship / love type song from Travis on him speaking on how much he misses this specific female. I could see this song being played after a break up or after a big argument while sparking up the medicinal to reflect on things. Brysonâs verse was very real. A verse that I feel like a handful of people can relate to because I am sure, we have be in a situation as such:
âbut you would rather ignore me, your mama called to check on me but you wont even pick up the phoneâ
pick up the phone ft. Young Thug Jefferey & Quavo (from the Migos) Â | a faster paced beat featuring Atalantaâs own Jefferey formally known as Young Thug along with Quavo. For anyone that knows me, knows that I am not a huge Young thug fan. But when Travi$ and Young Thug collaborate together they tend to make some good music. This is a song that is describing how loyal they are to their females and they are feeling some type of way that she isn't not picking up the phone when they are calling her.
lose ft. Cassie | Travi$ has a lot to lose, and it makes him nervous. He is always with his crew his girl never liked it nor them.
âi got shit to loseâŠâ   don't we all?
guidance ft. K. Forest  | a dancehall type beat talking about a failed relationship, Rihanna maybe? The beat is very catchy along with the song.
wonderful ft. The Weeknd | a feel good celebratory type tack were The Weekend and Travi$ are feeling simply wonderful, making music, touring the worlds, meeting women, and most importantly making money while doing so.
Overall, I found âBirds in the trap sing McKnightâ a solid album. It is not filled with a lot of lyrical content (which was not expected of Travi$) but it has some catchy hooks and the production of the project is phenomenal. I also like how all the songs blend into one another. That being said, I feel like this might low-key be a story as well? I don't know for sure, but after writing this review I do feel that way. If one wants to check out the album it is available on:

A few days ago Zah released a track addressing the nay-sayers, only giving various haters 2 minutes thirty-three seconds of his time. Need I Say More?
âBeyonceâs Super Bowl âFormationâ Performance Was Horrible...â
âBeyonceâs Super Bowl performance was horrible!â - said by no one.
According to people like Rudi Giuliani, Beyonce used her nationally televised platform to âattack police officersâ. He later went to say that âwe should have decent wholesome people perform at the halftime showsâ. đ
Comments and mindsets as such just leave me to ask questions such as these:
Why, is white america* so butt-hurt over Beyonceâs Super Bowl performance?
Is it because white people fear that people of color will take over America?
Is it becasue white people fear that we have discovered their secrets?
Is it because we are tired of being treated as less than human?
Is it because white america thought Beyonce was white with a nice bronze tan?
Is it because she did it on a nationally televised stage?
Is it because once we were shown a tribute, to a piece of our heritage in a MONTH (which happens to be the shortest of the year) Â to honor our people?
Was it because she paid tribute to some of the smartest, toughest, and bravest individuals our nation has seen, but were deemed as an internal threat to our nation? (The Black Panthers)
Is it because white America was already hurt that a dancing, charismatic, exciting BLACK quarterback (Cameron âSuper Camâ Newtown)Â was getting most of the press and embracing it leading up to the Superbowl?
I honestly do not know why there were large quantities of white people who felt âoffendedâ by her performance or even her video.
Iâll pray for you.
Hopefully one day, those who are not people of color, will understand the obstacles we face day in and day out.
Then one will see why we always try to reach the masses with issues that plague our communities, boroughs, and states of this fine nation.
Started by the whites, who snatched us from our homelands and forced us into a system that was never created for us.
The odds never will be in our favor.
We as black people need to unite!
Let us overthrow this corrupt system.
Therefore, my brothers and sisters...
Formations!
Time to takeover.
