“I’m Samantha Simpson, but all my friends call me Sam.” Cara was more than happy to interpret the woman’s loud declaration of facts as an invitation to have a short, but polite conversation. “I have to say, I’m pretty jealous of your name, even if it comes with  a Miley Cyrus obsession.”

“Nice,” she replied, assuming the girl was referring to her alias for the night. She almost snorted at the next comment. “Yeah, lucked out in that department.” She lowered her voice to a conspiratorial whisper. “Might even keep it as my name after this whole thing’s over.” Her voice went back to a normal volume for the next comment. “Definitely not keeping the Miley obsession though.”

“Lt. Goodfeels at your service. And no, these Miley Cyrus tattoos are not fake. I have a very unhealthy obsession with her that I’d like to get rid of as soon as possible.” The last words were spoken a tad bit louder and with more emphasis in the hopes that someone would come and take her flag sooner rather than later.

Cooper couldn’t help but giggle at how terrible Thea’s acting was at the moment. “Wow, I love that one. So intricate,” They pointed to a blank spot on her arm. “Tell me its backstory.”

Even Thea couldn’t help to start laughing when Cooper did. The entire thing was ridiculous, but at least it was fun. “Thanks, it’s my favorite. I just really loved it when she rode on that wrecking ball and licked the hammer thing. It was life changing.”

“I’d keep going but I…don’t want to wear out my voice!” Cooper offered an excuse, when really they just didn’t know any more of the lyrics. “Yeah? What do you usually listen to?”

“Too bad,” she replied in mock-disappointment. “Well, I’m a huge Miley Cyrus fan. You could probably tell by all the tattoos.” She gestured down to her obviously blank arms with a roll of her eyes. “I have twelve total, but you can’t see all of them,” she finished with a conspiratorial wink.

“Jesus take the wheel, take it from my hands, ‘cause I can’t do this on my own. I’m letting go…,” Cooper didn’t know much of the song, but they were already having a blast being someone much more ridiculous than themself. They continued to sing, rocking back and forth on their heels as they refilled on refreshments. “So give me one more chance…”

“You have a lovely voice,” Thea offered with a smile. “Please keep going.” Though this entire game was a tad bit silly, she couldn’t deny that she was having at least a little bit of fun. “Not normally a fan of country myself; I prefer pop normally.”

“No, the skyline is consistent, plus you get fresh air. It’s like rolling down the window and staring at the horizon when you’re carsick. Gift shop’s this way, follow me. First time, huh? Having fun yet?”

“Huh, I never thought of it that way. I never really got carsick so I never tried that. Okay, that I can manage. Yeah, minus the whole seasickness, it’s been entertaining.”

Elodie watched as the speaker sauntered off-stage after introducing both herself and Althea. The room was packed, which had been expected. Although they were sitting right next to each other, Thea and Elodie seemed to be giving each other the most intense case of ‘cold-shoulder’, as if there was an invisible wall between them. That wouldn’t last long. “Right. So. Questions?” Elodie asked the crowd, watching Thea out of her peripheral vision. 

Thea was fighting a smile, hoping it came across more as a grimace. For years, she’d been warring with Elodie; all the fans knew that. No one was really certain how it had started or who had done what, but everyone knew the two women had despised each other for years. Except they didn’t, not really. She rolled her eyes for the sake of dramatics when Elodie spoke. “Yes, I’d love to hear what you guys would like to as me.”
