I did this cosplay last year as well but never got a good picture, and admittedly had some problems. I was not a fan of the wig I had before, and the gem kept popping off. I think this time around with a new wig and securely putting the gem in place I am overall THRILLED with how this cosplay turned out. I would like to continue to do Amethyst for future cons. Probably one of my absolute favorite cosplays I’ve done.

Beneath the cut for more details about how I put this together.

My arm socks have seen better days. I made them myself and it was my first time so they were not the greatest. I barely had a clue as to what I was doing and was attempting a few different tutorials last year when I made them. I’d either like to give it another shot or spend a little extra money to have someone make them for me before the next time I wear her. 

Still impressed with the boot covers I made. I had never made those before either and think I did a pretty damn good job at them! They were brown/tan boots I bought from Walmart and attempted to spray paint but it didn’t work out, however the white base made it possible for me to use a nice thin fabric for the boot covers so the brown did not show.

The leggings were purchased from Hottopic (Don’t believe they sell them anymore) and the tank top was from Walmart and I cut the tears in them.

Gem was purchased from Etsy (seller no longer available) and the wig was from Amazon. I did lightly dye the wig by using a mixture of acrylic ink and alcohol. It doesn’t show in pictures well but the wig does have a light purple tint to it. My wig last year I got the color WAY too dark and even the shade of purple wasn’t correct. So this wig makes me much happier.

Face paint is TAG in lilac (i believe? That’s just off the top of my head but it sounds right). I noticed online a lot of people complained about the product saying it cracked and did not go on evenly. I have not experienced problems with the paint, long as I do a layer of paint, then a spray of Mehron setting spray, and follow that for a total of 3-4 layers it stays on virtually all day without cracking and it goes on very smoothly. Only place it rubbed off was when I wore my glasses and the nose piece rubbed it off, but that’s expected. One of these days I’ll make a video tutorial. If that would even interest anyone.

I made the whip myself (which I would like to try and redo aspects off. The hand guard mostly.) It was a rush job as I made the whip about 24 hours before c2E2 2018 last year and did not have the time to redo it this year by the time I decided to go as Amethyst again.

Oh, and the lipstick I used was Jeffree Star velour liquid lipstick in ‘Blow Pony’. Again, had like no trouble with this staying on all day only had to do touch ups just after eating.

so. I started watching Game of Thrones last weekend. I had no reliable way to watch it before so I just never did it. But after my best friend bought the first 3 seasons for $10.00 each on Black Friday like two years ago, and a year of dicking around and dragging my feet I FINALLY began watching it.

I’m now on season 5 with help of my sister’s HBOGO info! XDDD

I TRUST NO ONE AND ALL I WANT IS A FUCKING REUNION WITH SOME OF THE STARKS LIKE SON OF A BITCH THESE ALMOST MEETINGS ARE DRIVING ME CRAZY!!

Also I am amazed I managed to avoid like 90% of spoilers over the years being on tumblr only 1 thing was ever majorly spoiled for me. Or it’s been so many damn years I just don’t remember.

hello :) again. it’s me!

I say this every couple of months of so. But I do want to start posting things again on here. I avoided the dash because I’m probably one of the only people who still hasn’t seen Thor Ragnarok, Black Panther, and Avengers Infinity War.

Look. My best friend and I were planning on seeing them in theaters and then life got busy and we couldn’t/didn’t and now here we are MONTHS later still haven’t seen them.

Anyway, I’ve been avoiding that so probably won’t skim my dash too much but I want to post more things than just my Lup cosplay from a few months back. Although I will be updating the skirt and boots for RenFest so I will prolly have more pictures later.

I’ve spent a BUTTLOAD on some nice alcohol markers, prismas and copics alike. And I am working on learning how to use them and properly blend and shade with them so that will be fun to post art later. I’ve also started to write again, even if it is just fanfiction, but still.

what else...oh! I got a promotion at my job, so life is severely less stressful and I’m in a new position now that I love and the people on my team are freaking awesome. So that is a plus. I might try and write more personal stuff too.

Oh I was so stressed out in April about whether or not I was gonna get this new job/position, like we’re talking losing sleep, horrible horrible nightmares, it was BAD and I had to wait like a month to hear anything after my interview cause a lot of people applied. But anyway, so stressed that I threw my fucking hormones out of whack and realized it was nearly two months until I started again, and then it didn’t stop until three weeks later when I had to be put on medicine and now that I am on that for three months to fix my body, I’m on the part where I don’t take the medicine for 12 days and I want to die. I feel like I am.

Like in general ladies, periods are uncomfortable and I know they’re different for everyone. But like F U C K, I would typically have cramps but they would go away after a bit. Yeah no apparently with this medicine it’s not umcommon to have like almost severe cramping. This heating pad turned up all the way and the 3 ibprofin I’ve taken are bringing it down to a medium to dull pain. I know I’m bitching now, but I think a lot of ladies can relate and I needed to vent somewhere.

Wizard World Columbus was kind of a bust. It felt like there was nothing there, like we did the entire floor in like an hour and a half. Glad we didn’t get weekend tickets and decided on just one day. Aside from that I LOVED getting to be Lup. 

Probably one of my favorite cosplays. I can’t wait to wear this to renfest later in the fall. Gonna get a few different pieces, like a different skirt and maybe a better quality wig.

I just ran a make up test with everything and I fucking love it!!!!! I cannot wait to wear this to wizardworld columbus next weekend. I plan on wearing this outfit many more times in the future too. I took so many pictures in this outfit so I had to show at least four of them because I couldn’t pick just one!! AH!

I would like to get a different shirt but I’m going to wait until Renfest this fall and buy one there. 

The ears are too light for my skin tone so I may try and mess around to get them to be a little bit darker. There are some things I may tweak about her make up come con day, but I wanted to put the entire outfit together for the first time so this is what I came up with real quick make up wise.

Other than that FUCK I LOVE THIS AND I LOVE LUP!!

UPDATE!!! Painted the Bureau of Balance bracer for my friend’s Taako cosplay!

Super stoked for how this turned out. I think it looks amazing and it was quite simple to do. Now I just need to work a way to secure it to someone’s arm lol. Minor detail XD

WizardWorld Columbus is next weekend, pretty much done with everything else for my own Lup costume, stitching the patch onto the cloak today.  Probably the most prepared I’ve been for a con ever.

WizardWorld Columbus is next weekend and still working on finishing up some stuff for our costumes.

My best friend decided to go as Taako and throw something together for him, so I told her I would make her a bracer. It’s still a work in progress. I have the silver/metallic spray paint for it, just need to do it on a not so windy day. But I was able to create a bracer out of some craft foam I had left over from things. It’s not perfect by any means but I think it will look pretty darn good in the end. 

I am still going as Lup. I have everything together for it I just need to finish up the patch and sew it to the cloak, and I recently got this need bracelet...ring..hand thing from hottopic which I think will be a nice touch to my Lup cosplay. 

The patch took a good amount of time to make it’s all hand stitched. I’ve never done anything like this before and while I know there are things I’d like to do better or differently I am really impressed with myself at how this turned out!! It looks a little uneven right now but it was a perfect circle I think it got a little misshapened when I was trying to tighten to fix the fabric. oops. 

I am super excited for next weekend!! :D

Working on getting a Lup cosplay together by WizardWorld in June. Starting on the thing that would take the longest. Decided to make my own patch instead of buying. We’ll see if I regret that later on...

All my c2e2 swag!! I got more art than I have in the past at any convention. I did get some new decals and a few stickers. The TAZ postcard up there is signed by Travis. He was doing free signings for a bit. I was looking for some Flash art but I didn’t see anything that jumped out at me. Over all a great weekend and we got to meet Jen, in person, and stay with her which was super awesome and fun.
