The new 1.17 Minecraft cave generation snapshot came out today and here's the start of a lil' mushroom cave home... lichen and moss everywhere... cave vines and glowberries... a serene cave pond... candles flickering... yeah I can see that... 🌿🗻

Optifine obviously isn't working on snapshots or 1.17 yet, but it was still really fun to build! 💛 I audibly gasped when I ran into my first cave system!

The Minecraft Caves & Cliffs update has been announced at Minecon Live 2020!

Developers have showcased two new cave biomes such as the Lush Caves, featuring new trees and plants, and Dripstone Caves, with naturally generating stalactites and stalagmites, and changes to existing cave generation. Devs have stated that this update will make caves “more varied than the Overworld”.

The ‘Warden’ mob will spawn in the deepest, darkest caves. This mob is blind but will follow you based on noises and the sound of your footsteps.

New ‘Sculk Growths’ found in caves have also be added, which can detect footsteps and output redstone signals.

More details will be announced at the end of the liveshow, including new mobs!
