“The house sounds wrong without you in it.”
(Here's some angst writing for you. You'll probably choose Xie Lian as Hua Cheng's counterpart, but the choice is yours. It's good to have you back; I missed you.)
ASHES AFTER THE CURTAIN FALLS
Blinding lights extinguished his hope of avoiding the inevitable crash as a truck careened into their lane. The impact deafened him, shattering glass and plunging him into darkness. He struggled to stay conscious, a warm trickle running down his head. A shard of plastic jutted from his chest. With his last ounce of strength, Hua Cheng looked at his beloved in the passenger seat, and the sight hurt him more than his own injuries.
It was dark for how long? Days? Weeks? Months?
A harsh glare assaulted his vision as consciousness returned after the horrifying accident. His eyelids fluttered, struggling to adjust to the stark brightness. Gradually, a white, sterile ceiling materialized above him, wavering slightly before settling into a more defined shape. He blinked again, and the thin plastic tube snaking into the crook of his arm, delivering vital fluids, swam into clearer focus. The dull ache in his head throbbed, urging him to remember what had happened. He strained, pushing against the fog that clung to his memories, desperate to grasp the events that led him here. And then, like a dam bursting, the fragmented images and sounds of the accident crashed back into his mind, overwhelming him with their intensity. The piercing wail of sirens, the flashing kaleidoscope of emergency lights cutting through the night, the sheer, unadulterated panic that gripped everyone present – it all flooded back, a tidal wave of terror. He began to thrash against the restraints, his heart hammering against his ribs. Seeing his distress and fearing for his safety, the attending doctors quickly made the decision to administer a sedative, hoping to calm his escalating agitation and prevent any potential self-inflicted harm. The drug began to take effect, and the chaotic memories slowly receded, replaced by a heavy, numbing calmness.
The truth struck Hua Cheng like a physical blow, shattering the very essence of his soul. His beloved, the one person who gave his existence meaning, was irrevocably gone, lost beyond any hope of reunion or repair. Though he managed to pull himself back from the abyss of despair and regain a semblance of control over his actions, the agonizing pain of her absence never truly receded. It lingered, a constant, suffocating presence that clung to him day and night, an invisible weight pressing down on his chest, stealing his breath and poisoning his thoughts. The mere act of existing became a torment, each sunrise a cruel reminder of the joy that had been stolen from him. Returning to his home, the place that should have offered comfort and refuge, brought no solace, no respite from the relentless sorrow. Instead, it served only as a constant, agonizing reminder of everything he had lost. Every shared memory, every cherished photograph, every beloved book that lined the shelves, whispered her name and echoed with the laughter that was now forever silenced. The very walls seemed to mock him with their silent testament to a happiness that was now irretrievably out of reach, leaving him stranded in a desolate landscape of grief and regret.
“The house sounds wrong without you in it.” Every room echoed with the ghost of his beloveds laughter, now a haunting melody in his memory. He wandered through the familiar spaces, each object a painful trigger, a testament to the life they had built together, now shattered. The walls themselves seemed to mourn, the very structure of the house groaning under the weight of his solitude. "The house aches with your absence," he whispered, his voice raspy and strained, the sound swallowed by the emptiness. "A prison I can't escape." The words hung in the air, a fragile plea in the face of overwhelming grief. He stood alone in the heart of their home, his hand instinctively seeking the place where his beloved's head would rest against his chest, thre now beated his beloved's heart..
Hua Cheng's lover had no hope of surviving, his body was broken but not his love and will to save Hua Cheng.... You will live on with my heart as companion, to remind you that I am still there...
Hua Cheng still could hear his voice and he broke into tears again...
(Missed you too, partner in crime! Hope you like it.)
It pains how good it is!
make 'em swoon
eyes meeting from across the room
reaching out, grabbing their hand
a subtle wink
licking their lips
a hug that gets deeper
"hi" *raspy voice*
falling asleep on each other
coming back for another kiss
pressing their foreheads together
smile that makes their eyes soften
brushing away their hair
putting their hand on the other's neck
holding them close by their hips
pulling them on their lap
smirking in a way that suggests more
drawing with their fingertips on their skin
hugging them from behind
a kiss pressed to the neck
lips brushing against their ear
whispering to them like they're alone in the world
