It seems like people swung the pendulum too far in the opposite direction from "don't spread yourself too thin and make yourself too available to everyone, at all times, at cost to yourself" to "you owe absolutely no one anything, if your friend tells you about their problems, that's trauma-dumping and you're not their therapist, friends are for shallow good times only, oops, you have no close relationships to anyone, can't even talk about your own problems without ten layers of irony, why are you so very lonely and isolated and miserable?!"
