âYes,â She answered handing him the roll of bandages. Short, to the point answers made her feel more in control in moments like this. Instead of blurting out everything she was thinking.Â
Like that she should have gone with them, or that if sheâd been there maybe it would have turned out differently.
Thereâs a look on her face when she locks eyes with Alex that tells him she doesnât buy it. But it lacks any venom that would have been sent in the direction of those whoâd actually done the hurting.Â
Her hand reached forward to find the top of his arm, for a moment. The gesture says theyâd talk later, before her eyes looked back to their partner. âSo itâs done?â
The mission she means, and she waits to gage their reaction before she lets out a sigh of relief. âThank god.âÂ
Ghost liked it better like this, when Alex was trying his best to crack jokes and Aerith was sighing in relief. He wanted to tease both of them for being so on edge with this whole thing, but he refrained. He understood the panic of seeing your partner hurt, heâd just gone full psycho murderer on a couple vampires for touching Alex, sure, but they had to realize, at some point, that he was still an immortal being with no real body. Chances are he couldnât even bleed out if he tried. He wouldnât put that to the test, but still.
âItâs all good, like I said,â he hummed in reassurance, taking the gauze offered and half-heartedly patching up some of the smaller cuts, at least to help out. âI just want a shower and bed. Can we do that?â
There was a healing potion on the first aid kit, he knew, that would speed up the process immensely, with the downside that it might leave him with a nasty scar or two, as opposed to just letting his body heal it properly. He motioned towards it with a flick of his fingers. âLetâs just do that, and I get a new sick scar on my chest. Iâm tired.â
One hand still pressing the cloth to Ghostâs chest and the other resting on the counter, Alex looked from Ghost to Aerith with pursed lips. Ultimately the choice was up to the one bleeding, he felt he was in a tough spot to protest. Aerithâs touch was comforting, Ghostâs insistence on quickly putting this all behind them was relieving, but that didnât mean he still didnât feel guilty over the whole ordeal. On one hand, a quick shower and bed gave him a chance to kind of take a moment to himself. On the other, he wasnât quite sure heâd be let off that easy. Aerith was going to want an explanation, Ghost deserved an apology.
And neither of them were going to really push for one but he knew it was owed. There wasnât a really a way out of this. Talking wasnât the hard part, owning up wasnât ever the hard part. What he couldnât do, was actually believe in what he was saying and stop beating himself up over a mistake.
âShowerâd be nice.â There, a simple sentence and a slight nod towards Aerith.
Attention gravitating back to Ghost, he removed the cloth and set it in the sink. There was still blood, but it wasnât gushing out like earlier, the worst of it had happened on the ride over. âBut thatâs um,â He kept his eyes on the sink as he ran the water and rung out the cloth but managed a glance over at his two companions. âUp to you.â
