My stand about Plagiarism, Piracy, Bias Media, and the like

There are many reasons why people do such things like plagiarism, piracy, bias media, and more.

One of the reasons why they do this is to bait people like fishes to get their attentions. In Bias Media, they like people to believe what they see without looking to the other side of the story. They want to seek allies to side with them against their rivals and mostly showing the negative side and not the good side of their rivals.

When it comes to Plagiarism, those people who commits this kind of crime are mostly uneducated and lazy people. They depend on others to steal the information and claim it as their's without giving proper credits to the original owner of it. This must be fixed immediately and educate people to indicate where they got it or better create their own. Originality is the key, after all.

It is really hard to watch movies and listen to music if your really have to pay for it. That's why Piracy is present nowadays to download these movies, sounds and others for a cheaper price and even for free to avoid spending money. It is an evolving cybercrime which can easily adapt to the current technological and global environment.

These illegal actions must be stopped as soon as possible and not let it continue to future generations to avoid looking at fake screen but the real, legit, and original screens. Be wise and don't fall for these traps nor manipulated.

How to be socially responsible in my social networking accounts

There are different ways on how to be socially responsible in our social networking accounts especially when we are in a sensitive society.

First, we should always be careful on the information that we are sending to the social networks to avoid misunderstandings and be sensitive on what we post for others to not be offended. Always keep your personal information private to avoid hackers and anonymous people creeping out on your profile.

Be mindful of the things you are posting online and know who are your audience. Never post something that is disturbing or inappropriate to the people especially to the minors. It is not only you who is present in that platform but there are a lot of people who could have seen your post.

Lastly, be kind to the people who are also in that social network. Don't create enemies for you to have that spotlight, instead, have a lot of genuine friends who could understand you and who you can trust despite the distance between them.

Nevertheless, just enjoy the social network but just know your limits.

What is my favorite gadget?

When I am asked with this type of question, it is really obvious that I would say that a mobile phone is my favorite gadget to use all the time. Well, not that I am addicted to it though.

I know I am not alone whose favorite gadget is a smartphone. However, I am pretty sure that it is almost everyone’s favorite gadget. I mean, who does not?

The reason why I chose a mobile phone as my favorite gadget considering the fact that I always carry it wherever I go since it is easy to carry and fits well in my pocket or bag. It is light-weighted compared to other gadgets such as laptops and portable computers. It also benefits me as a student and a daughter since I could easily browse to the internet for my assignments, communicate to my friends and classmates, also where my parents contact me whenever we are not together.

My favorite part of a smartphone is that it is very handy and it entertains me a lot. I am a fan of games and in my phone, I have a lot of games for me to play when I am on my free time. I can play with my siblings and even with my friends from afar. I listen to songs a lot and watch movies as well.

By the end of the day, I don’t really depend on my phone since the things here on earth are not permanent. We should not be obsessed over a thing here in this world. What matters more is we should spend quality time with our friends and family without holding a gadget. Just enjoying some solid bonding together and creating treasurable moments.

Understanding Media: Aesthetics of Film and TV

The Magazine entitled "COVER GIRL" which is a make up brand endorsed by a famous American singer-songwriter Katy Perry, showcased their product, "Plumpify Mascara". It is said here that this mascara is 50x volume and vertical lift as shown in the picture where Katy Perry is wearing it to tell the customers what is the result of this product when worn.

The message in the lyrics "All this money can't buy me a time machine, no Can't replace you with a million rings, no" from the pop song, The one that got away by Katy Perry means that the woman is already rich and successful but she can't go back to the past and changed what happened to them with her ex lover and even how many times she could get married or engaged, she can't replace the guy on her heart and mind. The song, the one that got away is a story about a woman who lost her lover because of a fight and the man got into a car accident and died, that's why they did not end up being together. He was already the one, but he just got away.

As I have watched the music video of this song entitled "The one that got away" by Katy Perry, I had goosebumps realizing that this what really happened in the song which I thought wrong, before. It was a tragic story knowing that somebody died and it was her lover. The song and visuals of this corresponds to one another. It was showed how empty the girl was even though she is already with someone though, it wasn't really the one. The song and music video was full of regrets and sadness. All she can do now is to remember every happy moments and memories together with her "the one" and imagine being together with him growing old.

Media and Information Literacy

Let’s start from the basics. 

What is media? Media is the plural form of medium. It refers to the communication channels through which we disseminate news, music, movies, education, promotional messages and other data.

In the other hand, Information, is basically the act provided or learned about something or someone, giving us knowledge about a certain subject. 

Literacy is the ability to read and understand.

When combined together, Media and Information Literacy is a platform where you can get information from different sources especially from the media that needs deep reading, understanding and learning.

 Our brains depend on information to work optimally. The quality of information we engage with largely determines our perceptions, beliefs and attitudes. It could be information from other persons, the media, libraries, archives, museums, publishers, or other information providers including those on the Internet.
