"Sulking once again?"
You looked up from the book in your lap, sitting up straighter at the sound out the voice.
"You give me many things to sulk about, Loki." You placed a bookmark and closed the book, sliding it over so he could sit down next to you.
"I want to bet that this time was because I lost your favorite charcoal pencil." He propped an elbow on the table, leaning his head on his fist, a lazy smile on his face.
"You bet correctly." You still couldn't look at him, sour from his previous attempt at trying to tease you, yet only seeming to fail once more.
"You know you could always just ask for another one, right?" He reached for your pinky finger, trying to loop his around yours but you tugged away, biting the side of your cheek to keep from smiling at his small action.
"But no other one could match up to the grip, weight, and quality of that one." You grumbled, going to open the book back up but he plucked it from your hands, reading the title before giving it back to you.
"I could create a better one, you know," He offered and you scoffed, biting some of the dead skin from your lips as a reflex.
"And what? Put a curse on me whenever I use it?" You flipped the page, your fingers playing with one another.
"I would never do such a thing," He promised but you snorted, knowing that he would and he had, "Not to my best girl." He bumped your knees with his, knowing that the little action always put a small grin on your face.
"Well, you've turned your best girl into a frog before so I wouldn't put it past you." You glance at him from the corner of your eyes to see him wrinkle his nose, a sign of defeat but he quickly smiled when he saw you looking at him.
"Sylvie and I have been coming up with different enchantments. I'm sure I can do something to add a bit more oomph to a charcoal pencil," His moment of talking left you unarmed and he went to loop his pinky with yours and did it successfully, giving a small pull, trying to lighten you up.
"You promise not to do any magic on me?" You commanded and his smile grew, nodding fervently.
"I promise," He kissed your cheek before standing up to leave, not knowing how much it meant to you, "I would never do anything to hurt my best girl." His old nickname for you had seemed to stick, and while you used to feel your pulse quicken whenever he said it, now it was a reminder that Loki was capable of hurting his best girl.
In fact, he was hurting you whenever you saw him.

"Is something bothering you?" The voice interjected your train of thoughts and you looked to your side, seeing Thor nestling a large drink in his hand as he asked the question.
"No, nothing so. Why ask?" The party, more so a ball like gathering was loud and over barring, but seeing that you two were nestled deep into the corner of the room it gave a quieter area.
"You seem to be pulling away." He took a sip, looking around as everybody laughed and danced.
Thor had grown up with you. You two could read each other facial expressions well enough to know that a small pout or furrow of an eyebrow could mean more than it let on.
"It's my brother, isn't it?" And of course, he knew this too.
You were starring off into the center of the floor, where Loki was seen holding his dance partner tightly in his hands, gently twirling her around in tune with the waltz playing, occasionally leaning down to listen to what she had to say.
While Thor was much more different from Loki, it was times like this you felt more easier around him, not having to lie to save yourself.
"You're brother always does something that bothers me," You teased lightly but the both of you knew that whatever was littering your mind was neither teasing nor light.
"Would you like something to eat?" Thor may come off as someone who wanted everybody to know everything about him, but you knew well how perceptive and caring he could be about others.
You smiled gently, brushing him off as you nudged him towards the crowd, knowing that's where he would prefer to be.
"I can handle myself. Don't you worry about me." You assured him, pushing him more despite it seeming like he wanted to say something.
"You come to me if you need anything though, okay?" He ruffled your hair playfully, something that always bugged you because he knew that for occasions like these you put effort into it.
"You have my word." You promised and he squeezed your hand once more before heading into the sea of people and after a couple seconds you could no longer see him.
"Was he bothering you?" Your movements stopped at the new person, not having to look up to know who he was.
"It might be hard to believe but Thor isn't always trying to make it his mission to bother his friends." Loki rolled his eyes, sitting down as he scooched his chair closer to yours.
You looked around to find the other girl but it seemed like she too, had been lost in the crowd.
"I've got a surprise for you," You stuffed a roll in your mouth before turning over to Loki, seeing more clearly now that his casual robes were replaced with dark emerald silk ones that matched well with his eyes.
You nodded for him to continue as your mouth was currently filled with food.
He fished something from his pocket, pushing it towards you, a gleam in his eyes as he watched you pick it up.
It was a pencil much similar to your old one, and picking it up proved that it felt just the same. Snatching a napkin, you began writing, grinning foolishly at how well it felt in your hand.
"Now tap on it's side," Loki added, eager to see your reaction.
Doing as he asked you tapped the side and the scribbles vanished, almost like they had been erased. You quickly wrote something again and tapped the pencil, the words leaving the napkin as if they were never there.
"I told you I could make one better," He sang and you had to laugh, nodding in agreement.
"You've outdone yourself, Loki," You gingerly wrapped it up in a clean napkin, sliding it down your pocket for safe keeping, "Thank you, I really love it."
You watched as his face split into one of his rare apologetic smiles, his dimples slowly making their way out.
"I truly am sorry about your old one, though, I know how much you liked it." You waved him off, seeing how his shoulders eased down a bit.
"It's fine, don't worry," You took a sip of water, hoping it would help your parched throat, "I like this one," You trailed off when you saw a figure approach from behind him, squeezing his shoulders to give him a small surprise.
He twisted, beaming when he saw Sylvie, pushing her towards you.
"She's the one who really helped with the pencil. She's an utter genius, she really knows everything there is to know about magic." Sylvie snorted, shaking him off as she extended her hand towards you to shake and you took it, despite yours being a bit clammy.
"He talks all about you, you know? About how he's going to this and that and what annoys you the most," She laughed when he shushed her and you had to laugh along, "Most of the time I'm worried to give him spells because I think he'll use them on you."
You shrugged, taking another sip and then wiping your mouth with the back of your hand before you continued.
"I doubt there's much you can do to stop him. He always finds a way." You assured her and you both chuckled despite Loki grumbling in his chair.
"I would love to talk but Loki and I need to go talk to something with Frigga," Sylvie tugged Loki up and you watched helplessly as he blushed as she held his hand, "Would you like coming over to my workshop to talk a bit more? There's some things I can show you to counter against him," She added and you nodded, not knowing what else to do.
"Of course, that would be lovely," And it would be. It really would be. Sylvie was intelligent, funny, and kind, everything you liked seeing in a person.
The only problem was that both her and Loki were undeniably in love with each other.
Which meant that the only place left for you was the charming friend who they could both count on when they needed advice.
---
A knock at the door caught your attention and you looked up, muttering a small "Come in," and it slowly swung open, revealing the one person who you were trying not to see.
You tugged your night robe more around your body, the rush of cold air swarming around you, setting the gifted pencil down.
"It's two in the morning, Loki, why are you here?" Your gravely voice asked him and he shrugged, plopping down on your bed as he sighed contently.
"We used to do this all the time when we were younger. Have you grown to dislike my early morning visits?" He joked, not knowing how you had grown to wish not to see him.
When you didn't answer his head shot up, eyebrows raised worriedly.
"Have you grown to dislike my early morning visits?" He whispered quietly, and you shook your head and he slumped back down, happy again.
"That's good. I wouldn't know what to do without you," He teased again, oblivious to how much his simple words affected you.
"I've got some poems for you," He said suddenly and you wanted to scoff at his blindness when it came to your aching heart, but he continued, "Would you like to hear them?"
You nodded, silently telling him to continue, and he dug a small hardcover book from his coat pocket, relaxing on your bed as he flipped to the pages he wanted.
"Ah, I liked this one," He started and you tried to tone down his appealing voice as much as you could but it was no use toning some out when you were in love with them.
"Through the grass she left hurried prints, not turning to see behind," He read out loud, the sleep that was evident with you clearly not residing with him,
"She ran through the frightening woods she tried hard not to find."
"Behind her was a monster, surely up to nothing good. But eventually there was nowhere else, and so she whipped into a tree."
"It was quite a sight, others say, something you rarely see."
"The god behind quickly gave up, and went on his merry way. But the nymph soon learned that gods won't care unless they win on that faithful day."
Loki flipped through other pages but stopped when you asked,
"Why did you like that one?" He glanced up, raising a eyebrow,, but shrugged.
"Because it reminds me not to trust the gods." He confessed.
"Sounds a bit vain coming from a god himself," You countered and he chuckled.
"More so the reason not the trust them."
And as he continued reading poems you couldn't help but agree with him.
Gods were always full of lies people wanted to hear.
---
No matter how hard you tried, the next weeks were filled with bumping into Loki and Sylvie.
They were always eager to talk to you, but seeing how they were all over each other before you interrupted, you politely insisted that they be alone.
It was useless of you not to tell him anything. He should at least know that you've loved him for longer than you could remember, but whenever you gathered up to lengthy courage you found him attached to the hip with Sylvie, and so you lost it all and went back to square one.
You living in Asgards palace was a stretch to begin with. Being the prince's best friend meant a lot, but when neither of them seemed to remember that you existed it brought it's own difficulties.
Being neither faculty or royalty, your only reason you were allowed to be on these grounds was mainly because of Loki. And even since that night he seemed to ignore you more and more, so much to the point in which people doubted you two were even affiliated.
"Miss L/n, are you in here?" You heard someone ask from behind the door and you snapped awake, quickly making your bed as best as you could as you sprinted to run to open the door.
It was one of the palace guards, one you had seen every morning when on your way towards the gardens, and so you eased seeing a familiar face.
"Is everything alright?" He nodded slowly, reaching out and placing a letter waxed with the Asgardian family seal.
"With the upcoming event there has been an a demand for rooms for the families and their servants that will be coming." You could pick up on how embarrassed he sounded, eyebrows furrowing with worry as he continued.
Events?
"Your room has been requested to be used for the Vamilion family daughter, so you have been asked to move out during this next week. The letter explains it all. Thank you for your cooperation." He quickly stated before running off, leaving you to hurriedly open the letter to read it.
Dear Y/n L/n,
With the wedding about to commence, there are a few things that must be taken note of.
With the influx of people coming to stay at our home, we would kindly as you to find some place to live in the city until this is all over.
Furthermore, if you find some place you prefer over these palace walls, we highly encourage you to stay as there may not be much use of you thereafter.
Much care,
King Odin and Queen Frigga.
A wedding.
You were being kicked out for a wedding.
You were fine with leaving, but you had stayed here because of the friends and close family you had grown to love over these past years. But if you were slowly becoming a burden to them you would surely leave if asked.
But what was plunging the scorching hot knife deeper into your heart wasn't that,
It was because the letter was also signed by Loki.

And I couldn’t find the original post for these so (pictures under the cut)
Let's be honest another reason why Allurance won't work out is that Allura never listens to Lance; she even told him to be quiet and never really listens to him. But you know who does? Keith. Always Keith.
I just don’t think Allura has ever seen Lance as her equal? And I don’t mean that like she’s a bad person or anything - i mean, she is a princess and she is an alien and she has had to grow up and unite the entire universe against the Galra and that’s like INSANE okay Allura is really an amazing person. And I love her. (And she deserves better)
But yeah. Allura and Lance don’t fit together, not like this, not in canon. It’s unbalanced. She has been there to give him pep talks before and he’s been there to comfort her, but those moments were more about Allura than Lance. (god I will never be over how he was talking to Allura in Blue’s hangar and then Red roared for him. Demanded him. that shit gives me goosebumps)
Keith believes that Lance is his true equal. They are so alike, in so many ways, and Lance was there when Keith was spiraling out of control. He was there to pull Keith back and help him work through the pressure of being a leader. Keith trusts Lance in a way that I’m not sure anyone else does. So, yeah, he listens to him. All of Lance’s words carry a heavy weight with Keith, and he regards them and considers them seriously.
the only one who gives BACK to Lance is Keith. and a lot of people think Keith was mean to him in s7, but he was only distant (after like 3 years away from the team? makes sense that he’s distant?). And he still treated Lance and his opinions with the utmost respect (and dare I say, bias?). (Lance is first for Keith always I’ll never be over it.)
it’s so delicious that lance was like “i like allura bc she’s this cool, brave alien who makes me wanna be a better person” because keith, also, is a cool, brave alien who makes Lance wanna be a better person. (and tbh, u can argue that he already has, as imo a lot of Lance’s growth has stemmed directly from his relationship to Keith)(I can’t wait for Lance to realize this)
I got carried away. Short answer: I agree with you 100%
title: i wanna be yours
pairing: keith/lance
notes: sequel to the kiss prompt “you make me want to kiss you” because i’m weak as hell. you can read it here if you haven’t. also, i think there is going to be a third part to this so…that’s happening.
*
Keith sits alone in the mess hall, trying to find his appetite in the strange calm of the early morning as he stares down at his tray of food. Most of the compound is still asleep; he’s not even supposed to be on duty until 0700 hours, but he’s been restless for the past couple days and sleep has been hard to come by. His skin feels like it’s almost too small, too tight, for his body. There’s excess energy thrumming through him and nothing he does can curb it.
He’s tried drowning himself in extra work. He’s tried training with Krolia at all hours, wearing himself into exhaustion. He’s tried taking those hoverbikes out for a spin and running through the desert with Kosmo in the pre-dawn light and none of it works. The buzz is insistent, and it doesn’t care that he can’t sleep or focus properly because of it. And his heart. It’s beating too fast, even now, by himself, when there’s no reason to beat like this at all.
It’s been days. Four long, endless days, and he can’t stop thinking about it.
The thing is that Keith is obsessed.
He doesn’t want to stop thinking about it.
The way that Lance had looked up at him. How wide and searching his eyes had been, how his voice had cracked when he begged for Keith to kiss him. He still can’t believe that Lance had begged for it like that, that he had wanted it that badly. He shivers when he remembers how responsive Lance had been, clinging to Keith as if it was the only reason he had managed to stay upright. The whole thing is so vivid that Keith can still taste the salt of Lance’s skin and feel the heat in his blood.
no offense but bar patron keith x extremely flirty bartender lance owns my life. bonus points if keith isnt even all that blushy he just flirts back but in a sarcastically, lighthearted mean way just so that he can see lance pull out his cute fake pout and his "so mean! ;
this is extremely cute i love it so much!!!!!! thank u for this 🥺💘
Aaaand we’re back!!! I can’t believe it’s been a year since the last time I found myself typing one of these, but here we are, and WHAT. A. YEAR. If you’re interested, in no particular order, I’d like to share some of my absolute favorites with you ❤️ Banner art is by the immensely talented @upthehillart and with nothing else to add, here’s my
Well, I just wanna T H A N K Y O U all. Draco really deserved better (I would have want the cut scene of HP7part2 to be in the actual film at least sob)
Stuff that got asked and answered over on my insta that I figured I’d share here as well!
- Lance asked keith out first out loud, but Keith kinda already figured they were dating at that point already (they totally were)
- Keith’s wings are only vaguely sensitive on the webbing on the inner side. They’re actually incredibly durable and can be used practically as shields.
i feel like had i been working in the usual BPJ style, getting to this point would have taken at LEAST a month hahaha
I LIKE THIS FASTER PACE!! i’m still struggling with getting used to paneling and working in black and white, but with practice that will start to come a bit easier to me. i want to get away from working so much in greyscale too, and lean more into bold blacks and whites like UMMMM i dunno……. unky LOL
also, screentones! all i’ve been able to figure out so far is to have them slapped down like an overlay, but i want the larger dotted ones for darker colors, and smaller-dotted ones for darker skintones like lance and hunk.. THE LEARNING PROCESS SURE CAN BE A LONG ONE… but i will leARN! it’s kind of refreshing that no matter how much you progress as an artist, there are always new things to try out
anyway i’ve really just gonna shoehorn a lot of exposition into the conversation between these guys because i really want the reader to have a good idea of The Current Situation right off the bat. like you are NOT getting 50 pages in my comic before you learn allura’s alive. NAH B THAT’S LIKE PAGE 3 LOL
