New Year... New You
Make 2013 your year. Take control, set goals, and own it.
New Years Resolution: Here's your fresh start to be who you want to be, do what you want to do, and live happily. Make 2013 your fairytale year.
Ring it in the right way: Celebrate with family, friends, and loved ones. Surround yourself by people who motivate you, support you, and want what's best for you.
Stick to it: Come up with a long-term plan and keep your eye on the prize. You will be amazed with how much you could accomplish if you put your mind to it.
Why Bother with Two Twitter Accounts?
Do you utilize Twitter to reach a certain audience, share ideas, or promote a product? Have you ever stopped to think that maybe flooding your friends timelines with information that doesn't pertain to them can be annoying? Well, that's why I have made two separate twitter accounts.
Keep reading if you're interested in why two Twitter accounts can become necessary at times:
Not everyone has the same interestes: For this very reason, I choose to share PR ideas, celebrity gossip, motivational quotes, and more on my @AlyssaPR Twitter page. People that follow this account most likely have the same interests and follow my PR account for that reason. However, people that follow my personal account, @alyssaamoroso may get annoyed with information that doesn't spark their interest.
keep your personal life / work life separate: I strongly believe in this. Your Twitter account that is accessible for the public should be clean, classy, and business-like. Your personal Twitter is where you could get creative with song lyrics, tonights plans, and anything else.
Twitter is easily accessible: Bow down to the iPhone. The Twitter App makes it easy to switch between Twitter accounts with the touch of a button. Easy, fast, and fun!
Still not convinced? Check out my two accounts to note the difference! @Alyssa PR & @alyssaamoroso

Once Upon October
Happy October 1st PR Gals. Since a full month of greatness is upon us, let me tell you why this month is especially kick-ass.
Bundle Up: Sweaters, scarves, boots, layers, NEED I SAY MORE? Mixing and matching take a drab outfit to fab fast.
Drink Up: Cinnamon-spiced coffee, hot apple cider, and pumpkin lattes are the perfect drinks to cozy up to.
Dress Up: Find a creative costume and let your hidden alter ego run wild-- be the best dressed at the costume party.
Must Have
I've been obsessing over this little mush since I first saw her photographed about 3 Fashion Week's ago. I guess being Alexander Wang's niece has its perks.
Worry about your character, not your reputation. Your character is who you are, and your reputation is who people think you are. #PR101
be a dreamer
Tell me a little about yourself... I just moved to New York City from Southern California after earning my Bachelor’s Degree in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in Sociology. I previously interned at Red Light PR in Hollywood where I began my fashion PR career path. Right now I am attending NYU to receive my Masters Degree in Public Relations and Corporate Communications. I am very passionate about working in the fashion industry and learning as much as I can about this business while I adventure through New York City!
How did you get your internship? I searched online during the summer for an internship with a public relations department in the fashion industry. When I found this opportunity, I applied right away. Since I was still in California at the time, I had a phone interview with the VIP and Events Coordinator. Then I was offered the position!
Explain your typical daily routine... I always arrive to the office early to be prepared for any tasks that need to be completed right away. If there are no initial assignments, I search through various websites and blogs looking for any current press clips. If my supervisor knows of a celebrity that has been photographed at an event wearing Alice + Olivia, I will spend the free time in my day searching for as many press links as possible. I work with the sample coordinator to make sure pieces are sent out to certain publications that will feature Alice + Olivia such as Marie Claire, Lucky, Self, ELLE, and so much more. I also work with celebrity and editor gifting. I recently worked on a project where I researched upcoming celebrity events in order for the company to efficiently target certain celebrities that will wear Alice + Olivia.
What has been the most rewarding aspect thus far? I was lucky enough to be an intern during New York Fashion Week. That week – working Fashion’s Night Out and the Alice + Olivia presentation – has definitely been the most rewarding thus far. Those events fueled my interest in the fashion industry and motivated me to keep working hard and reaching for my goals.
Is there any advice you would give to future interns? Try to take in as much as possible every day. If you are given an assignment, ask what it is for in regards to the bigger picture if you do not know. Internships are amazing ways to learn an industry from the ground up. Everything that is done in a business, even the smallest aspect, is important. Keep moving forward even through the stressful and tedious situations. Lastly, what I am now starting to learn, if you feel you are ready to take on more, ask for more responsibilities.
Any tips? Don’t be afraid to ask questions or ask for things to be clarified. Also, if you know you are going to be running some errands, invest in cute flats!
Who, What, Wear.
Is not being able to find something to wear to work keeping you from making it out the door on time? Use these helpful tips to look amazingly-effortless.
WHEN IT DOUBT BLACK IT OUT: Black is not only the best clothing color in the world (I may be a bit bias), but it's also fabulously flattering as well as chic. You can never go wrong in a pair of black skinny's or a black blazer.
PLAN AHEAD: Pick out your outfit the night before. This way when you wake up you will just throw it on and be out the door
FIND INSPIRATION: Having trouble taking random items from your closet and putting them together to create a masterpiece? Use blogs, online clothing stores, Pinterest, etc to get inspiration and gather tips on what does / doesn't work.
BE CONFIDENT: A confident girl is a happy girl. Having a bad hair day? Own it. Wearing a mismatched outfit? Rock it. If you feel good, you look good.
XX, Alyssa.
