Hello, all...

I know it appears as if I have abandoned this blog, but I wanted to say that I'm actually still around. I've still been putting down my thoughts and inspirations in draft posts, but never posted, partly from lack of confidence in how consistent I would be. Now that I'm caught up, I will begin posting again, even if only randomly and intermittently. A lot has happened, and my posts will reveal why I fell behind and had trouble catching up. I also very much miss looking at, and liking and commenting on your posts on here, and I hope to soon return to that, as well.

I'm looking forward to once again engaging with you all soon 🙂

A work at home day, with an afternoon client meeting at Panera Bread.

The morning is a bit chilly, but I won't be going outside until I go to meet my client this afternoon, in the hot part of the day, so I'm definitely wearing sandals today for the first time this year. I love boots, but I'm also glad sandal season is here.

What I am wearing today to the office.

Today is supposed to be a bit brighter than yesterday, albeit less warm, with an outright chilly morning for this time of year. There will still be smoke, but less of it. I'll look to wear something a little more vibrant in color, though perhaps not the brightest colors.

I have not worn my burgundy pantsuit in quite a while, and that seems like a good color for today. It's not exactly too "cold" this morning for a dress or a skirt if I wear the right nylons, but the afternoon won't exactly be too warm for pants, either, and since the rest of the week will be warmer, I'll go with the pantsuit. I think my sleeveless medallion shirt in a similar color will go well with this suit, and fit my mood for today. Maybe I'll go with beige, but in patent, for the shine, to symbolize sun getting through the smoke with a fair amount of success.

Oh, wait, I found gold metallic. I normally only wear that color when I want to be more formal, but I see gold worn all the time in more everyday outfits, and I think that color would look nice with my suit today, and better conveys what I was thinking with the patent, in my opinion. I don't really want to "match" my skin; I do want to wear an actual color, and gold is fairly neutral, so maybe that's the right color for my shoes today. What do you think?

I think I'd better bring a light coat in addition to my blazer. I won't need it once I get to the office, but this morning calls for one extra light layer, for sure.

End of day thoughts: I wasn't sure what to expect with the smoke, but it was basically a high level cloud. It didn't turn a sunny day cloudy, but just filtered the sunlight.

What I am wearing today to the office.

Today is a bit interesting. It's supposed to be warm and sunny, but smoke from wildfires 3,000 miles away has made it here, enough to dim the sunlight. This will be interesting to see.

This also makes putting together an outfit interesting. The sun would call for bright colors, but the smoke and haze would call for gray or black.

The afternoon is supposed to be quite warm, but the morning might be just a bit too nippy to forgo nylons if I want to wear a skirt or a dress.

I think I'll go with a dress that has a lot of bright colors, for the sunny day, but it is also quite muted, just like the sun will be today. I'll pair it with the fog nylons that I wore a couple of weekends ago; at 20 denier, they'll offer some warmth in the morning, yet not be overly hot in the afternoon, and plus, the color will make a great accessory. I'll wear gray heels. I think I am mirroring the conditions of the day.

I'll include a blazer, though I don't see myself wearing it once i get to the office if I don't need to go back outside before lunchtime.

Wearing a dress that is multiple colors definitely helps with choosing accessories.

What I am wearing today to the office.

The styling of today's outfit is going to get a bit interesting. I'm getting eager to start wearing my sandals, especially my heeled sandals, but it's not quite warm enough to go barelegged, at least the first half of the day. I'd have to wear them with pants, but after wearing mostly pants last week, I'd really like to wear a skirt or a dress, to change my looks up a bit.

We are supposed to have some sunshine, yet the day is not supposed to be "bright". Most of the day is supposed to be cloudy, yet it's not supposed to be a gloomy day, either. This would seemingly call for some dark colors, yet not gray or black, but also some lighter colors that also aren't too bright.

I think I'll wear a skirtsuit, still really wanting a break from wearing pants. Brown should be a good color. I have a green blouse, in a shade that doesn't "pop", but still lightens my look a bit. Neutral nylons, also, should keep my look from being too dark.

Today is not as nice as yesterday, with rain coming in this afternoon, and cloudy otherwise, so my boyfriend and I will be indoors for sure most of the day. There is an exhibit that seems interesting, that just opened this past Thursday at the history museum downtown, so we'll go see that. There is a Mexican restaurant that seems rather nice, just across the river, and it's open Sundays, so we think we'd like to try it.

Normally, we would dress up for dates like this, but we agreed to to in between today, mostly to allow for footwear that is conducive for heavy walking before and after the museum. It's also obviously a dark colors day, given how dreary it is. It's warm enough that I don't have to wear pants, but not quite warm enough to go bare legged, yet I don't really want to wear nylons when the rain could be heavy. I got a yellow dress recently, that I think would work for the dressy part of my outfit, that I think I could pair with my taco print capri leggings. The yellow and black leggings I think would a great transition piece between the yellow dress and black sneakers. I wish my dress was a little shorter, to allow more of the leggings to be exposed, but at least it's above my knees. Adding my chili pepper necklace and earrings, I think this look honors both the dreary day and Cinco De Mayo weekend.

Today will be too nice of a day to not be outside. It's sandals weather, for sure, but my boyfriend and I decided to go on a roadtrip to a state park (in another state LOL), so I'll be wearing sneakers instead. That'll be okay, as that seems like a good activity for a day like today. I love warm weather roadtrips.

Let's see if I can put together a casual Cinco De Mayo outfit, as we will try to find a Mexican restaurant for dinner. Many are doing Cinco De Mayo specials all weekend long.

I'm wishing I'd've worn a different pair of earrings yesterday, rather than the tacos two days in a row. I definitely want the studs for today, given what I'm doing, and I also want the context of the earrings, to differentiate my look from Christmas LOL.

I don't think it's supposed to get chilly tonight, but I'll bring a light jacket just in case.

Cinco De Mayo

What I am wearing today to the office.

The creation of Cinco De Mayo outfits always gets interesting, as it takes my jewelry to "explain" that I'm not using red, white, and green to create a Christmas look LOL.

My boyfriend and I are going to get dinner at a Mexican restaurant after work, if it's not too crowded to get in.

We finally have a springlike day, and no rain 🙂.

End of day thoughts: A few of my coworkers and I got Mexican for lunch, as well.

What I am wearing today to the office.

I will be in the courtroom today, but not for a full hearing. We are making a motion in a case, and it's really more like a meeting with opposing counsel in front of the judge, so just a couple of hours. It's rare that I would be needed for this type of a hearing, but I did most of the interviews, so my firm asked me to attend in case my statement is needed.

The rain continues, but this is supposed to be the last day. It's not as cool, either. I'd probably be wearing a skirtsuit rather than pants, actually, if not for the rain, as it's not quite warm enough to not wear nylons.

I'll go with an olive green pantsuit. It's a professional color, it's dark enough for the somber weather, yet there is a bit of color, since we are at the end of the overcast and rainy pattern. I'll wear flats, too, for one more day. I prefer heels, especially on days like today, but flats do look professional, as well

What I am wearing today to the office.

While it is normal for my area to get multiple rain days in a row during Spring, I still miss the sun, and below normal temperatures aren't helping, either. I guess this is what we get for having unusually warm days back in February LOL.

Needless to say, today is definitely another day for a dark pantsuit, though I don't want to repeat black and gray. This color is called "night sky", which definitely feels appropriate today.

Today is a work from home day, with a late morning client meeting at Panera Bread.

This is like February weather in a typical year. Frosts and freezes are even occurring north of here. This is boots weather, but it's also May, so I'll leave them put away. I will be wearing a sweater, though, which I cannot remember the last time I wore in May. We're supposed to top out in the low 40s, but it probably won't even be 40 when I meet my client.

What I am wearing today to the office.

A cool, rainy day, as will be the first half of the week --- not sandals weather, for sure. I think I'll wear a black jumpsuit, for the dreary day, but with some burgundy accessories, to introduce some color into my look, while keeping things dark. Also, with all the heels I wore last week, I'll give my feet a break this week and stick with flats.

The rainy weather today is not conducive to just about everything my boyfriend and I want to do today, but we will spend some time together. We hardly ever get to any of the chain restaurants, but today we decided to go to Outback. Their sirloin with lobster mac & cheese sounds interesting, so we will try that. The one to which we are going is in a major shopping center, so we'll do a bit of shopping (or maybe just browsing LOL) while we're there. I know my boyfriend will want to go into Lowe's LOL, and I have a few stores in which I would like to look, so we'll do that.

My boyfriend figured (correctly LOL) that I would like to wear heeled boots; since tomorrow is May, today will be my last boot outfit until next Autumn. We agreed to go dressy-casual once again.

I used to wear outfits like this more often during Springtime in my college days, as I do find it fun to occasionally put together looks with non-conforming pieces, but being not proper office attire, I don't get too many chances today. I'd normally have done a few more, but we haven't had much middle of the road weather this Spring. Even today, it's not exactly a rainy day outfit, but we'll be undercover or inside most of the time. Plus, 5 1/2 inch stiletto heels aren't exactly made for walking, but it won't be for hours, and very light duty, and I do want to wear an extra high heel boot once more. I'll just mostly wear flats next week in the office.

I'm choosing mostly dressy pieces, but my shorts really make it less dressy, and I'll also forego the jewelry, so it should be more in between than dressy. I think my blouse gives my look at bit of a romantic vibe, in both style and in its part in the overall color scheme.

Today was supposed to rain all day, but there is a huge break, and it may not rain again until very late this afternoon. My boyfriend and I are going to take a chance on playing some miniature golf. If that doesn't work, then we'll figure things out. Not knowing if we'll get caught in rain, and how heavy it'll be, we agreed that this date will be dressy-casual in attire rather than dressy.

My boyfriend got me a set of miniature golf clothes for my birthday, and this is the perfect opportunity to wear some of the pieces, especially the leggings. It's not an ideal miniature golf day, but most days in May are too warm for full length leggings, and since this will be the last weekend I'll be wearing boots until next autumn, I'll wear them today.

My outfit feels quite casual, but I'll dress it up with some jewelry.

End of day thoughts: The rain did hold off, and we even got a brief period of sun. We even did a round at the batting cages before the rain arrived. We decided to eat at the indoor cafe at the center, once we saw that the menu is fairly extensive, mostly hamburger based. We had a good time.

What I am wearing today to the office.

I feel quite challenged coming up with an outfit that reflects how I feel today, yet is also coordinated and professional. I looked through my closet a bit last night, but nothing came to me, so I got up 1/2 hour early this morning to take some time to figure it out.

The weather forecasters are calling today the pick of the week, because it's the warmest day, and there will be a decent amount of sunshine, albeit through clouds, so it won't be super bright, and clouds will be increasing this afternoon. Given that, it feels like a day for some dark color, but not gray or black; and some light color, yet minimal if any bright pieces. Also, a skirt or dress, for sure, rather than pants.

I'm definitely wearing boots today, before I put them away for summer, given that Monday is May 1, and May doesn't feel like boot season anymore. I'd like to wear ankle boots today rather than knee high, given the warm day. It's chilly this morning, though, and without full sunshine, I will need to wear nylons, even if I did wear knee high boots.

I won't go into all the details, just saying that I couldn't put together a look that felt "perfect" for today, but ultimately settled on the one shown. I do have a bit of a mess to clean up when I get home tonight; clothes everywhere LOL.

End of day thoughts: I usually don't have dresses or skirts shortened unless they go below my knees, but I'm wondering if I should have this and my other knee length skirts shortened a couple of inches. I don't mind knee length at longest, but when I look in a mirror, it feels as if the skirt is shortening my legs a bit with the ankle boots, which doesn't happen when the skirt stops just above my knees. I really love wearing ankle high boots with skirts, and I also think they look very professional together in a suit, so I'll have to think about what I want to do for next year. Ann Taylor's suits, which is where most of my suits are from, have been getting a bit longer, to knee length, over the last couple of years, when they used to stop just above my knees, my favorite length for an office skirt. I'll have to noodle this one.
