Deepest Darkest Part 2: Nowhere

Pierce was suddenly in a different place. Actually it wasn’t really different. Well it was different because he knew that he was not in the same place.

It was similar except it felt odd. It was the same feeling he had when we realized his father had bought a new goldfish and tried to pass it off as the original. Presumably, “Goldie Hawn” had died while he was at school; Pierce always thought that maybe the fish had been murdered in a crime of passion by another fish.

In the distance, a beacon of light gestured.

Tim Curry's Ghost Part Negative Three: This TWO shall pass

I remember the first time I fell completely and deeply for Liz. 

Towards the end of our second date, we were walking back to her apartment. The night was going terribly. I had spilled wine on my chest in a fit of clumsiness. The wet mark made it look like I was lactating. She laughed and I felt like a fool.

Liz suddenly grabbed my hand as we were two steps from her apartment door.

"Lets go to the roof."

We stayed on that rooftop, gazing at the stars, until the morning sun rose. The conversation ran the length and breadth of our lives. Sometimes we just stood there in each other's arms listening to the dark city.

It was the first time I ever felt completely and deeply in love.

Pierce stared into the abyss of his parents closet. His little sister was just pulled into the deep dark by some foul abhorrence. He clutched his father's revolver. Demons can't be bulletproof, he thought. A tiny laugh squirted from his lips. The absurd breached the grim task at hand. Pierce stepped into the closet, once again.

I thumbed through Tim Curry's IMDB page for the millionth time wondering just what happened. She was packing her bags. She looks serious this time.

"Come on, Liz, please...", I croak.

Liz looks over at me and I already knew the answer.

"David, when did the battle of Verdun take place? Or are we daydreaming out the window again?", said Ms. Azama incredulously.

I pointed out the window and whispered, "Stegosaurus..."

The screams from the classroom were drowned out by the roar of the great beast.

I heard sirens at a great distance, and knew that this was just the beginning.

"I don’t know how I can do this anymore. Maybe you never loved me.", she said, grabbing her keys and walking out the door. 

I turned around walked back to my laptop. I stared at Tim Curry’s IMDB page one last time, and sighed. Closing the browser window, I knew my life would never be the same. 

"Maybe I never did."
