I don’t care how mature you think you are, or how well your write or portray your character. In fact, that’s completely beyond the point. Any adult that is caught exposing or engaging a minor in sexual content can be ARRESTED and PROSECUTED. Simply being charged, even if the case is later dropped or you’re found innocent, can having a horrible and lifelong impact on a persons existence. It can prevent a person from getting and keeping a job and housing, ruin friendships and relationships and generally fuck up a persons life. So don’t lie or trick or guilt or pressure someone into smut if you are under 18. It’s just not worth it.

And it should be generally unsaid that seeking or pressuring minors to smut is whole world of creepy and disgusting. Just don’t do it.

ok im gonna add my own 2 cents onto liz @merciful-hell ‘s post bc diversity in this community is something yall really need to like….actively fix (and as a black girl it’s something i’m passionate about)

there are so many other character possibilities other than the ‘young hot and japanese/european’ thing you guys like to do and i don’t mean it offensively but mix it up!!! even human characters can have dramatically different backgrounds and upbringings and occupations dont even START with the non-human possibilities (off topic but i’ve had an umbran witch oc in the works and i haven’t brought her to life yet smh…..)!!!!

and it is very true that people will reblog ‘support female muses’ posts all the time and still write with 0 women like…..guys. both yours and others’ female characters have massive amounts of potential. please pay attention to them. make them people.

we also gotta show lots of love for the TQIA portion of the LGBTQIA community like not everyone is cisgendered!! not everyone can feel sexual attraction, not everyone is physically able, not everyone is just gay straight or bisexual (and that’s only covering a few possibilities bc people are complex)

all i am asking is that you just think outside the box when creating new characters!!

(and when writing on topics you know very little about please please please research. a lot. research is an integral part of writing like there are resources such as @writingwithcolor that can help you out when you are making these new characters please use them so that you aren’t misinformed or offensive. if you cannot be bothered to research you are not a good writer. imo.)
