Summer at Kalvåg. Fish.
I found this old leaflet design released in 1774 by a Norwegian "potato-priest". On the cover of this leaflet they had some amazing hand-drawn typography/lettering. I thought it would be fun to play around with this old type and leaflet design and redesign it using 3D software.
How? I traced it, got it into C4D, used a cloth simulator dropping down on a ball - and then tweaked and played with etc.
Playing around with 3D type, sketch and toon + animation in cinema. Next test should be more smooth, working on it :)
Playing with C4D’s rendering settings, materials and deformers.
Not smooth enough, but good enough for a test in Principle!
Tested out Principle the other day. Been tweaking it for so long that I’ve turned blind, and I really want it to be more smooth than what it is. But that’s for another time.
Science fiction thinking
Forget about design thinking, sci-fi thinking is always a new thing. Design thinking has reached its maximum saturation point and has now become a word that everyone uses, but it seems like not too many can pinpoint to what it practically means.
That’s why I get excited when Perception (more about them below) talks about how we should percieve “the world through the lens of what is possible instead of what currently exists.”
I researched how UX/IU designers could use C4D in their workflow and found this nice future design lab, called Perception, recently known for their work done for the sci-fi movie Black Panther. They have a nice visionary take on why they do what they do.
“Using Science Fiction Prototyping, we create futuristic, forward looking experiences that look and feel as authentic as possible in order to open the minds of corporate leadership and stakeholders to the wondrous potential of what their technology is truly capable of.”

3D Printed Typography
Here are the outcomes from the elective week last year. Together with Lucas Paul-Antoine, we tested the limits of the 3D printers. One way was to recreate weaving, and the other direction was to make the 3D printer fail on purpose.
What happens when you print in the air, with no printed support structure?
The project lasted one week, a lot of fun, and a lot of failing. We used the Ultimaker and then our school's funky ceramics 3D printer.
This summer I’ve been lucky enough to be given a scholarship to work on my own design project, with help from Blank. They are design and IT ‘studio’ based in Oslo. It’s been fun, and I’ve ended up creating a VR experience where you are a farmer who needs to milk some mega udders. The reason for this is to cast a light on the milk production in Norway. I hope it will engage people and spark a conversation.
BaNaBowl - A short project where we ‘nudged’ people to buy bananas.
Worked with Nico Berthet
Throw back to second year – I designed a manifesto, where I challenged the the ‘book format’.
This was a second year project where we found that the original underground map, with their stations, could create a song. worked with Frøydis Hansen-Bauer
The first project I did in my bachelor in... graphic design(!) at Kingston. My group made the very first crazy bread golf.
worked with Calum Ray, Esme Pryor, Daisy Handley, Laura May Brown-little and Emma Jane Young.

As part of my elective course at AHO we created this projection mapping on Jakobs Kirke in Oslo. This was a collaboration with the light installation, which was designed by another group in our course.
Emojipedia This is a screengrab of my first prototype using Invision and Sketch. This was a short crash course where the brief was to explore how to structure a photo set. I chose emojis, one of the fastest growing 'languages' worldwide.
I made this website where you use the size of the browser to tell a short story. A short and fun project.
This is the result of a two week project. We were asked to look at data as a material, where I decided to focus on the snowdepth, and ask ‘is this normal snowdepth’?
