"Oh my God." Kaelin stares, mouth open, cheeks bright, and feels her heartbeat hammer; for a moment, two, she’s sure this isn’t real — she’s still dreaming, still sleeping, still hoping — but there’s a certainty in Amanda as she waits, eyes fixed forward, smile sure. "Oh my God," Kaelin says, again, feeling stupid, "are you — is this for real? Ams, if you’re joking, I swear —" She laughs, then, clumsy and loud, because she can’t help herself and this is Amanda — Ams, her Ams — and this is everything and anything Kaelin’s ever dreamed of. "Yes. Yes — oh my God, Ams, yes, now please get up so I can kiss you already.”
She stares at her with a quiet intensity and waits for something more than a call out to God. Amanda laughs nervously and nods because she has never been more of anything else in her entire. Nothing has more made her as scared or as excited-- not since their first kiss. Then she hears the words that it feels like she has been waiting for entire life. Yes. Her eyes go wide and she starts to smile wider than she thought possible. Slowly she rises, then she leans forward until their lips are touching and everything is right in her world. "I love you, Kae."
