"Good." She paused at a sound in the distance and squinting at a sound. "Let’s get back to business."
Very well. [He went back to walking.] It's a very nice ring, I am sure she'll like it.

"Good." She paused at a sound in the distance and squinting at a sound. "Let’s get back to business."
Very well. [He went back to walking.] It's a very nice ring, I am sure she'll like it.
"Correct. I’m thinking of asking Kaelin to marry me and well you— you’re my best friend. I wanted to check in with you first."
Oh. Um. [He thought a second, then nodded.] Yes, everything appears to be in order.
She pulled out a small box from her pocket and opened it, showing a diamond ring. “What do you think?”
[He looked over the ring.] It appears to be an engagement ring.
"Breaks are nice, but nothing is quite as good as being reunited." She glances down a hallway briefly. "I need to ask you something."
[He glanced down the hallway too.] Uh, okay?
She nodded and smoothed out a wrinkle in his shirt. “Sure. We haven’t patrolled together in a while.”
No, we haven't. But that's okay, I think. [A pause.] Breaks are nice.
"Getting tired?" She asked as she walked up behind her beta. "You can take a break, Paul. No witches are out tonight."
[He idly plucked a stray thread off his shirt.] I am fine, thanks. You can join me, if you like.
[The lights in the coven have dimmed, and he patrolled down a hall. Rubbing the sleep from his eyes, he adjusted the scarf he was wearing.]
[She shrugged her shoulders glancing out again before pulling Paul closer.] Wherever the wind leads us, yeah. I’m sure we’ll find something fun to do.
[He smiled.] That sounds fine to me.
[She looked out in the distance briefly.] Why don’t we take a walk? Just something to get us out of the house for a while?
[He nodded, with one last brief glance at the sunflowers, he turned away from them.] That sounds fine to me. Where do you want to go?
Happiness is sometimes overrated I think. [She glanced at him briefly with a smile.] Don’t ever take that scarf off, don’t want you catching a cold.
[He smiled and straightened it a bit.] Trust me, I do not intend to take it off. Thank you, Amanda. I appreciate the gift.
[She wrapped an arm around his shoulder, pulling him in.] We deserve to be happy, Superman.
[He smiled faintly.] Thank you. I am content as things are right now, though. I have nothing that I should want. ...Besides, I have often found that if I am happy, that less than desirable things tend to start happening. It is a complex emotion, and I am not sure how to handle it.
[She was silent for a few minutes, looking out at the sunflowers.] I am happy with a lot of things. I am happy that I have Kaelin in my life and I’m happy that I have you here with me. The two of you are very important to me and give me a great sense of joy. I’m happy with myself, how far I’ve come. I am content with life.
[He ran a hand through his hair, thinking a few moments.] That is good to hear. You deserve to be happy, Amanda.
[She shrugged her shoulders.] Sewing needles can prove to be a very dangerous weapon if you use them right. Paul? Are you happy here?
[He went back to staring, almost glaring, at the sunflower.] No. But I do not want to be happy, I just want a simple life. And I suppose that I have found it, so that is good enough for me.
Are you?
Yeah, I am pretty good. I made it for you though and I’d like for you to have it. You taught me and I’ve been working on this thing for what feels like weeks. I bet it was pretty strange for some people, walking through the halls and seeing me knitting instead of patrolling some nights.
[He laughed at the thought.] That must have been quite a sight to see. Knitting does take a lot of time, though. I have been working on those sweaters for a while and I am still not as close to being done as I would like to be.
[She grabbed the ends running her hands over it gently.] I think it really looks good because you’re wearing it, honestly. Wouldn’t look as good without my model.
[He chuckled.] I am sure it would look excellent anywhere because you made it.
[She nodded her head at his question, turning to face him now, wrapping the scarf that she had been holding around his neck. Amanda took a quiet step backwards, noting how it looked on him.] Pretty good, I think.
[He blinked a few times in confusion, and then held up the end of the scarf, examining it with a smile.] I would say so, yes. It is very nice.
[She nodded her head as she stepped forward, standing beside him now.] Believe me, I understand. I never thought that I’d be living around witches, much less leading my own pack. Life is funny sometimes, I guess.
[He picked distractedly at the hem of his shirt.] Yes. Life is funny in a lot of ways. How is your scarf-making going?
