(Not) Singing in the Rain || Amanda & Zeke [Event]

Zeke look up startled, expecting to see paparazzi or something equally as horrible to add the cherry to his misery. But it was someone else, distantly away with red hair and an umbrella. For a heart stopping moment he thought it was Irene and cursed his luck, not ready to deal with another awkward confrontation. As she got closer it wasn’t the red head he was expecting.

"Amanda!" He called back, surprised to see Zach’s assistant and Preston’s well…something, outside their office. By now the rain was comping down harder, and he pulled up his jacket to at least cover his head. He looked on enviously at the other girl’s umbrella, wishing he had his own. "What are you doing out here? Shouldn’t you be filing papers for Zach?"

A few strangers who were running with handbags and books over their heads towards the closest shop or taxi bumped into her, some muttering quick apologies while others didn't bother to do even that little thing. Despite her delay due to that, in a few seconds she was standing next to the popular director.

"I just had to run some errands and I think I'm free to go home now," she replied with a tired smile. She had almost forgotten her original purpose, until she saw Zeke trying to keep himself dry using his jacket. "Anyway, I just felt really bad for you," she said with a laugh and covered him with her umbrella too.

As always, good to hear you are doing well. How is Preston? Oh, I’m doing great.. much better.

He's fine, although I haven't seen him a lot lately, since I was in London. That's great! Irene told me your work is going fine as well.

Of course I will be! You know how I want your world revolving around me! On a serious note, I heard you were a bit frantic and busy even when I was away. You ok?

I'm always frantic and busy, you don't have to worry. How was your trip?

Well that’s not very nice. What if you just looked that way naturally? A naturally lethargic-looking person…

Well have you? I could buy you a bagel and some coffee off of that nice foodcart man over there.

I like to think I don't normally look like a corpse, but that doesn't mean I'm not okay.

To be honest, I haven't, but you don't have to do that.

It was nothing, really.  Just me being stupid.  And honestly not a lot of people knew right away, I didn’t want it to get out.  But I’m fine and doing loads better.

Well he was good, I miss him too.  Oh yeah, she’s a great boss.  Super understanding too.  I mean I got into an accident and was in the hospital for a little bit but she completely understood and I didn’t really get any pay cut or anything.

You in what? What kind of accident? Why did no one tell me about this?

I guess, or like a good mix of both? Well I’m sure there are other ways to brighten up the office without me there.  You’ve lasted this long without me, though I’m sure Preston’s a bit clueless.

Preston misses you a lot, I can guarantee for that. How are things with Hillary going? Is she a good boss?

[irene-tisch]

I say just follow you’re heart, you’ll be surprised where it’ll take you.  Yeah I’m doing okay.  I haven’t seen you in a while, I do have to say I miss work a little.  But work with Hillary is going pretty well.

We must also follow logic every now and then, it helps. I have to admit, the building feels empty without your colorful personality.

Again it’s just relaxing for a day.  I’m pretty sure the world can handle it.  And yeah I guess people could do much worse.  It just depends on their viewpoints.

Yeah, for me it's relaxing for a day, but I still don't think that's the right thing to do. I may listen to them though, because they may be right. But that's enough about me, how are you holding up Irene?

I guess but is relaxing really on World War II level proportions? I don’t think so.

[amandatheseagoddess]

It starts with the little things. I don't think I'll start a World War, but there are people who believe they are doing the right thing when they actually just make things much much worse.

[irene-tisch]

But if it’s right to you then that doesn’t always mean it’s wrong.  I mean you have to take care of yourself before others.

[amandatheseagoddess]

Well, allow me to disagree. I mean, Hitler thought he was doing the right thing, but I don't think that was the case.

[irene-tisch]

Please, you know what’s best for you.  It doesn’t stop people from giving advice but ultimately you’re the one left with a choice.

But what happens when what you feel is right is actually completely wrong?
