So @kcrw is previewing my new album "Precious Life" in full. Carrying, faithfully, the torch of Hendrix and James Brown Prince was a force equally as strong...and was so until the end. Since his passing much will be revealed and re-revealed about this superhuman composer, producer, singer, songwriter, musician, humanitarian. I was fortunate enough to see him perform (one time) at The Troubadour here in Los Angeles. I was first row and Prince was an arms length away. Even more surreal was that I walked in during the finish of his soundcheck. I could see him in the distance making final comments. I was checking out his pedal rig and noticed a string of picks striped across the mic stand. He saw me looking and said "I counted those picks", and then gave a wry smile. RIP. You will be missed by millions.
