44. Our muses are destined for each other after one lends the other a red scarf for warmth.
It seemed like white clouds sat on the tree tops, and on the roofs of buildings. With the snow piled a few inches, people still got around, getting to where they needed to be, ignoring the harsh cold temperature, and the falling flakes of snow around them. Some of the people didn’t care much for the snow, others feel indifferent of the snow, while Toshiro loved it. He would eminence himself in the cold when it became this time of year. The young teen stood in the park, staring up at the clouding sky as the unique flakes fell onto his smooth round cheeks. Although, it wasn’t just the cold or the white snow that made him love winter. It was a certain man who would come to see him every year on the same day, just to give him one piece of fabric from their first meeting when he was a little tyke.
He was playing at this very park on that day, making angels out of the snow, and even building himself a few friend as his grandmother stayed inside. Whilst playing among the snow, his woolly blue scarf flew off his neck when the wind picked up. The child tried to chase after it, but he fell shortly after, face down in the snow. When he lifted his head back up it was too late, the scarf had already flew across the park and wasn’t going to stop. He couldn’t help but to cry as he got up to his two little feet.
“What’s wrong, little one?”
As he heard the voice, he looked up and saw a male in his teens smile down at him. His smile seemed to have startled him, as well as his whole face in general seeing as it reminded him of a fox. A white fox. It seemed that the silver fox noticed why he had been crying, and took off his red scarf to wrap it around the small neck. He wrapped it around tight, patting the white hair before he said his goodbye. With that, the fox was gone.
Looking back on it now, Toshiro could’t help but to think how silly he was to think that he was a fox. Meeting back up with him, he was able to see the ‘fox’ again each year, and find out that his name was Gin, and that he would come to visit his family here every year around this time, and stayed in this town for a day before going back home. Toshiro then would given a red scarf before they would talk to each other, and become friends after all their years, and Toshiro couldn’t help but to enjoy being cold and waiting, just to be given a scarf, and to be able to talk and see him.
Said boy was once the prodigy student, constantly climbing to the top of his class, then moving onto the next year. By the time he was out of high school, much younger than the other graduating class, he had bumped into a man, who wore a wide fox-like grin every time he looked at him. As time progressed on, they seemed to bump into each other constantly, at the market, in the park, once even in his own neighborhood.
Then it came to be that he, Gin Ichimaru, was there at every turn.
Finally, their short talks and greetings became long, filled with details about their life, interests, hobbies, anything that they could. At each meeting, Gin would become closer, advancing to the point that he was able to hug the young boy without being pushed away. The more Toshiro was with him, the more he found himself becoming fond of him. By the time the only family member that left him for the afterlife, his grandmother, Toshiro seek only to be with the much older man. There was nothing he had left beside his own body and mind…..and Gin.
Now that he was living with the man, they had more time to spend together, and their relationship progressed to being lovers, after much attempts by Gin to show his love for the boy. Toshiro was surprised himself that he let his tough, icy core melt from the affection that was given.
Toshiro couldn’t be happier with his life with him.
Yes, even when Gin was being impossible at times, when he would start getting anxious and explosive, Toshiro couldn’t help but to be happily in love with him. It was still strong, even when Gin came home, smelling like dirt and…Something else that the young boy couldn’t describe. It was stranger when he had left his shoes, and the jacket he wore earlier, to the small laundry shed in the back of the house before stepping foot into the home. Gin didn’t let Toshiro get past that door to do laundry, until he said it was fine for him to go through. It would be a month before Gin would do it again, all over. It became a cycle.
After a few more times, Toshiro had enough with it, and began to follow after Gin to see what he was up to. Following Gin around whenever he went out at the certain time of the month, he had come to find the most frightening of sights that made him instantly regret coming after his lover. There he stood, the silver hair dim from the low light of the empty warehouse. Just inches away laid a female on a table, red drops dripped off the table, falling into a pool of the red. Soft cries came from the body, chest slowly rising, nearly looked liked she wasn’t breathing at all. Toshiro wouldn’t dare get closer to see what his significant other had done….He was too scared. When the head turned of the man had done this, Toshiro jolted and froze in place. He was stuck there, and was easily grasp into Gins large hands. He was brought over to the body, the older man cooing as he pressed himself behind the younger. Soft whispers of ‘i love you’, and ’ Finally i’m able to share this with you’. The boy remained, staring at the body that had careful cuts down the stomach, internal organs exposed. When looking back at the victims face, it was pale, filled with fear as she tried to faintly call out to Toshiro - Tell him to run, get help, something, but they were just mixed with gasps as she felt as if she was finally fading.
”Care to finish the job, my little sweetheart~?”
A hilt was placed into his hands, Toshiro still gazing at the woman’s visage. They finally pulled away when he saw a slim finger point right to her chest, and was urged to strike there. At first, the young boy refused, telling Gin to stop what he was doing, but quickly was silenced when Gin had threatened that he wouldn’t allow Toshiro to be with him. If he couldn’t do this, then he didn’t love him at all. He never cared. All he wanted was a man to take care of him so he wouldn’t end up on the streets. If he truly loved him, he would do it for him. So he did it.
Walking home with Gin, a firm hand holding a shaking one, Toshiro still couldn’t get the images out of his mind. But with Gin’s reassurance, constant t kisses, and loving that night helped put his mind at ease. This continued on and on, moving onto the next victim of a middle age man, a mother, a coworker of Gins, it never stopped - and Toshiro wasn’t going to let him go. He wasn’t going to take the chance of not knowing what to do on his own, out in the world alone, and no money.
As long as he had this pychotic man with him, he’ll do anything that he needs. He’ll continue to end a life, just to keep him happy and loving him. Gin was all that he needed.

—{ It’s ironic that this has happened. Snow fell from the cloudy sky as Toshiro walked on his way. Unaware of his surroundings has he seemed to be deep in thought, he walked across the icy floor, only to end up slipping and becoming it’s victim. He winced as he fell on his bottom, and then looked quickly around.
