So courtesy of the amazing #Tryazon website (which I am even more in love with after the incredible customer service they provided throughout this) I got to host a #WordSlam board game party from #ThamesandKosmos.
Of course my printer was out so you can see my poor teenage girl looking attempt at making the hashtag signs above and here.
Yes I realize I look awful, don’t you dare judge lol at least I have my #smize on. #Tyra. But seriously, I was sick that night, and it was the only night all the parents were available.
That being said, after work that day all of us parents got together with a broad age range of kids. The younger ones pretty much stayed in the playroom because the game is based on words and comprehension of reading, but everyone over the age of 8 was at the table as we read the instructions over glasses of wine or coke (we’re in the South. Everyone drinks coke. Get off it.) The game is super easy to understand and we all really picked up on it right away. Getting into it was a little slow because...well, let’s be honest, you put a bunch of adults together middle of the week after work, you’re gonna get either exhausted or giant kid vibe. We chose to be kids and joke around. Once the game got rolling though we really had a blast! Few more glasses of wine and it would’ve been really entertaining. Even the kids had a great time slamming their parents, and sometimes even understood the rules better than we did.
Thank god the above party pack came with a second box of #wordslam (although we didn’t need it for this small of a group) because, my roommate Blue (yes, for those of you paying attention I picked up my shit and moved across the street to split rent with Blue, finally!)...anyway where was i going with this?
Oh, yeah! My roommate Blue absolutely fell in love with the game and added it to her Amazon wishlist if the day ever comes that I move out. Shout out to #ThamesandKosmos because while she loves board games she adds very few to the wishlist. So, you know they did an awesome job. I think I’ll be passing that second box off to her.
All in all my only regret about the night was that my phone died halfway through (because we were having so much fun I didn’t realize I had a low battery) and I didn’t get any pictures of us actually, in the process of playing :( However, you will probably see many more nights like this very soon because all of us were enamored with the game catalogs that came with it from #ThamesandKosmos, and i’m pretty sure we all added the entire thing to our wishlists. Many more game nights to come.
A final huge, loving shout out to #Tryazon for giving us all an excuse to get together and bond over an awesome new product. They called in advance, they give you checklists to make your party great, you talk to a real person. Just absolute 10 out of 10 to these guys, and I cannot wait to work with them again!
