Of all places to zone out, at least coffee shops were generally safe. “School work?” She’s hazarding a guess there, really, considering she’d never set foot in any school herself before. “I’ve been told it’s exhausting.”

She positively beams at him in response. This was just the reaction she’d been hoping for. “You’re very welcome. You’ll be happy to know the store we purchased it from sells pants and socks to match. We could make the drive in the morning to get them, I’m sure Sam would not mind.”
