Finally, it’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for! Our passionate tumblr idol activities, Blogkatsu, is about to start!
Hello, everyone! It’s your favorite feline, the cheerful commander of the starry skies, Glompy here! And today, I’m finally announcing a very special project of mine?
Have you ever heard of /a/ sings? Or possibly Nico Nico Chorus? These are covers done by large groups of people over one song! For fun, for emotional reasons, or whatever! It’s great to have everyone come together to sing and be merry no matter what!
Here’s a few examples, just so you can understand what we’re going for.
And so, I’d like to officially start a “tumblr sings” project! I’m sure it’s been done before, but never with Aikatsu! As a fantastic anime, a great game, and so much more to us draws to close, I felt one last thing should bring us together as a community. And what better way to do that than to become the very idols we support?
Don’t worry about rules, there aren’t too many! Here’s just a few guidelines to get everyone started!
1.) Record yourself singing the song “Calendar Girl”! That’s it! The best program to use for this is Audacity, a free program available right here! (http://www.audacityteam.org/) I’ve included the off vocal mp3 of Calendar Girl, as well as the lyrics!
2.) Make sure you have a decent mic! I’m not saying you need a SNOWBALL YETI 29380583XXV HEADSET, but we should at least be able to hear you clearly!
3.) Make sure we can’t hear the music in your submission! We just need your voice! So make sure you delete the music track before sending it our way!
4.) Don’t worry too much about mixing! We’ll handle the majority of it! It’s okay for things like the backup vocals (“darudaru blue” or any of the lines in parenthesis!), but otherwise you don’t need to bother! Just send us your voice!
5.) Feel free to record any short messages or quips (just a few words!) /separately/ that you’d like us to insert into the song! There’s no guarantees about them making it in, but we’re currently experimenting with it!
6.) E-mail your submission to [email protected]! Send us the mp3 file of your voice, and we’ll get cracking!
6.5) Fill out this form and put it in your email! This is mandatory so we can make sure you appear in the video!
Name: (optional, basically your nickname/pseudonym/whatever people call you/what you want to be called)
Tumblr URL: (your tumblr url! this is MANDATORY, and we can use this instead of a name if you prefer)
Idol Type: (Cute, Cool, Sexy, Pop? Which type are you?)
Idol: (What Aikatsu character do you want to be represented by? It can be anyone in the Aikatsu universe (including Stars)! Alternatively, we can use an OC or an idol persona, as long as you provide a picture!)
7.) Send any questions as an ask to this blog, and we’ll try to respond as soon as possible!
8.) The most important, don’t worry about “sounding good”! This isn’t about individual talent, it’s about Aikatsu! All of us coming together, regardless of skill or experience to say goodbye to something we love!
The final song will be mixed by myself, and put into a big video featuring all of our voices! I hope we can all come together as a community to make this happen!
I don’t have much in the way of a limit, as I hope to include as many people as possible. If we get say, over thirty submissions, maybe it’ll be different. But for now, we’ll try to fit everyone who follows the guidelines in!
And last but not least, I’ve prepared a .zip file that has the guidelines, lyrics, and an off-vocal version of Calendar Girl ready and waiting! If you’re too lazy to go out and hunt all that stuff down like me, here it is for your enjoyment!
